Very remote, not good if you can’t speak Chinese! ”
Do not stay here. The place is not as pictured. Very remote - on the opposite side of the park as the main tourist town/entrance. Very difficult to find and not where it appears on google maps. We were dropped off in a town and had to walk for over half an hour down a country road to find the place. The host did not respond to our request for a pickup at the train station and did not speak English so couldn’t help when we called to ask for directions. We appeared to be the only guests at the hotel and the only westerners for miles. The host was sweet but spoke no English. He did make us a map of the park, however it made no sense. Buy a hand drawn English map if you see one for sale in the park! There were no food options other than what the hotel owner cooked for us (and charged us a lot for!). We checked out two nights early and moved to the other side of the park - as we felt it was too far from everything and couldn’t communicate with host.

Very hard to find, extremely basic. Not even a lock on the door. When people in neighboring rooms talk it’s as if they are in the same room with you. Next to a massive construction; doesn’t look like the pictures at all. Very friendly, helpful staff non the less. Walking distance from the park entrance.

My first visit to Zhangjiajie was a delightfully memorable experience due to the unending generosity of the Wood & Wind Inn's proprietor. Each day he drew up creative itineraries to follow in the park and arranged a ride into the village to eat dinner every night. When I informed him that my train ride out of the area was early, he offered to cancel my last night's stay and even arranged a ride into the city and booked me a place to stay that night! The wifi is fast and hot water plentiful. Set against verdant green groves of pine and bamboo in the intoxicatingly aromatic foothills of the mountains, you can't go wrong with the Wood & Wind Inn.

This was my first trip to Zhangjiajie and the proprietor of the Wind and Wood Inn/张家界风居住的森林民宿 did his absolute best to make my stay memorable. When I arrived at the Wulingyuan Scenic Area ticket station I was a little confused so I gave the Inn's boss a call and he promptly messaged me an itinerary for the day that maximized the sights I could visit along the way to the Inn. The next day he also drew up a very efficient itinerary for the day. I originally booked a third night, but after discussing the early train ride I had coming up the boss suggested I cancel and even booked me a new place to stay in the city and arranged a ride down. The rooms have a thick aroma of fresh-cut pine The wifi is fast. The hot water is plentiful. This is a brilliant place to stay and you will love tasting a slice of Chinese country living against the backdrop of the forested slopes and bamboo thickets of the Zhangjiajie foothills.

Super nice staff and beautiful place”
The man in charge of the place did his best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We went on winter and the place was cold, but he provided us a heater, coffee, tea... everything he could. The place is very nice and must be awesome to stay in during spring or summer time.

We loved our stay at wind&woods inn! Even the bathroom was all from wood! Good wifi, super close to the entrance of the national park! The owner didn't speak English but his sister wendy does very well and helped us a lot! We totally recommend a stay!

老板还是蛮友好的。但入住体验不太好，只有我一个入住的客人，几乎是熬到天亮。叫了摩的去门票站，大概五六分钟，是乡间的路。可以行李托运，然后从杨家界上山到武陵源。
