good value choice”
The hotel is well located near to the Wulingyuan park entrance. There are more modern hotels that are probably flashier at a higher price, but we were happy with our stay at the State Guest Hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-equipped, although the corridors were run down and dimly lit. Breakfast was Chinese-style buffet and there were few people there so we were able to eat in peace with a view of the mountains through the window. It's worth keeping an eye on the price as it seems quite variable -- we cancelled our booking and rebooked just a few days before the trip and saved about 20%.

Great Location”
After a 40 mins ride from the ZJJ train station, its costs 11RMB by mini bus. The driver dropped me at the round about. It was only a few mins walk to the hotel. Very huge ,very modern hotel. With a huge mountain behind us. Room was spacious. And very very clean. Wi fi available in the lobby. Only 5 mins walk to the park entrance, very convevient!! Waking distance to Baofeng lake. Will recommend any one to Wulingyuan to stay here. Great hotel

A short break at the foot of mountains”
The hotel it just about 10 minutes walk from Wulingyuan park gate. We arrived about 8 pm, and rooms prepared for us, so no time wasted. For guests whose can not speak Chinese will be slightly difficult in communicate with Hotel's employees. Hotel also need to consider safety issue regarding their in-room wooden bath tube, since not all their guests are young adult, but also kids and elderly. Breakfast quality as per Chinese hotels standard, not a 4 stars world hotel quality, so don't expect or complain. We stayed 3 nights and foods are same. People whose drinks better prepared your own. Overall, we enjoyed stayed there.

We booked two of the same rooms (deluxe king beds) but we got one room smaller than the other. However, the stay was still extremely comfortable and we were very happy to have booked the hotel. Booking from the hotel's website is cheaper though.

Very close to the park entrance. Chinese breakfast stayed the same throughout the 8 days we were there, we wished more variety. Staff were friendly and very accommodating to our needs. They gave us a plate of fruits daily!

Cigarette smell everywhere”
Everyone smokes everywhere in the hotel. In dining areas, walking corridor, outside hotel room. Hotel staff totally disregard this when there is no smoking sign everywhere. Even the centralised air conditioning system spews our cigarette contaminated air, suspecting coming from smokers in their bedrooms.

Not for western tourists ”
The staff is not helpful. Communication very difficult even though we speak a little Chinese (we live in Beijing). Our room smells of smoke from cigarets enjoyed in the nearby rooms. The restaurant is not very delicate, a typical Chinese restaurant of larger scale. No black coffee available. The pool is not for use, while we stayed there.

Warning: The wintertime room, hallway, and restaurant temperature was very cold, and the concierge told me that the glass bridge was closed when I later learned that in reality it was open. Would stay elsewhere.
