really five-star hotel, highly recommended”
We felt totally hospitality, All staffs were very helpful. Just shared with our experience. 1. Due to our flight delay, we called up to postpond one day arrival, the hotel promised to refund us one night hotel fee without penalty of course with proof from airline. 2. 25th December to 29th December 2012, weather forcasted snowing and visibilty was low, so we changed our trip schedule, instead up to mountain, we were going to pheonix village first, so we needed to swap our hotel stay, the hotel travel department staffs helped us to do this. 3. Eventually we were back to Zhangjiajie on 29th, weather on 30th, 31st December was getting better, so nice for us to take a lot of photgraphs, experience different sceneries of Zhanjiajie in different weather from snowing, cloudy and sunny. 4. Without the help and flexibility of the hotel staffs we would waste our time by staying in Zhangjiajie for first three days without viewing any famous mountaineous scenery in Zhangjiajie. 5. Our advise for those photographers, it is better to spare few more days to stay rather than just two or three days as suggested by tour guide. The weather in Zhangjiajie varys a lot. That is the mystery, that is the spectacular scenery everyone looking forward to see.

top notch hotel”
Great hotel. Complimentary airport pickup had been seamlessly pre-arranged (a nice touch since the hotel is 45 minutes from the airport). The room is spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Shower pressure and hot water are excellent. Was particularly impressed with the desk staff. On our last day, we checked out in the morning then did a full day of hot sweaty sightseeing before coming back to catch our [free] ride back to the airport. When we got back around 6 pm, I asked if there were perhaps shower facilities at the gym – the desk explained that there was not, and offered us a vacant clean guestroom in which we could shower (all while apologizing that it was a bit smaller than the room in which we had been staying). There is a tour company on the grounds of the hotel, which is somewhat associated with the hotel itself. I can’t speak highly enough about them. I speak pretty fluent Chinese and was thinking of passing on a guide, but at 200 RMB for an entire day, why not? The office managers were low pressure, and seemed genuinely interested in us enjoying Zhangjiajie, not in making money for themselves. Only drawback of the hotel is the food situation. The breakfast is quite nice, but the Chinese restaurant on site is a little too…. Exotic/authentic… for my taste (and again, I’m Chinese). The menu leans extremely heavily to local delicacies, and has very few “plainer” options such as noodles or even congee/rice. If you are picky about meat (I don’t eat pork), you may struggle here. Western restaurant menu is also very, very limited. Finally, Zhangjiajie being a non-urban area of China, sugarless sodas/teas and good coffee are nearly impossible to find, including in the small hotel shopping arcade.

Comfortable, good service and excelent location”
Excellent location to visit Wulingyuan-zhangjiajie national park. You can walk to the gate in about 10, 15 minutes. We went there during the Chinese New year, so everything was quiet, except for the fireworks. No queues, perfect temperature for walking, though some of the paths at the top of the mountains were frozen and slippery. All in all a great experience. The hotel staff was very helpful and one of them at least could speak English.

Great hotel in a fantastic location”
Not sure if this is '5-star' or not (nor do I really care) but it was grand compared to the other places we stayed at. The room was well appointed and is what I would expect for the price, which is relatively high for China/Zhangjiajie. We had free breakfast every day at the buffet which was nice. The Chinese restaurant was pretty expensive and not that great - the food seemed pretty average. The service was excellent though especially the (free!) travel advisor room. We literally spent at least 30 minutes there each day with the staff patiently explaining the things we could do, help us plan out our itinerary for the day, etc. They were professional, knowledgeable, kind and friendly even though we changed our minds many times, and once we decided on what to do they helped us arrange transport, tickets, and even helped us run errands such as take us to buy an SD card for the camera or get our bus tickets to Fenghuang. The transport is essentially them going into a car and chauffeuring you around, and then having you call them once you're finished and they'll go pick you up. Very friendly and great attitude!

Wonderful Staff, Book A Tour With Them!”
I traveled with 3 other people and we loved our stay. Sunny was our contact person (who speaks wonderful English!) and she greeted us upon arrival and arranged a transfer from the airport in Zhangjiajie. The best decision we made was to hire a guide through the hotel. Viki was our guide and we loved her! Sometimes we struggled with the language barrier, but we didn't mind. We only had a short time so it was amazing to have her there to show us the way and buy our tickets while we waited in line. There's no way we would have been able to do and see everything without her. She was invaluable to us at the restaurants too, and ordered really good food everywhere we went. If you don't speak Chinese and want to fit in as much as possible, hire a guide! A great hotel and experience!

Highly recommended and close to the forest park.”
very nice large and comfortable room. the only tiny niggle was the noise the air conditioning made even on low. the staff were excellent and you got the impression they had been well trained to be as helpful as possible. it is near the forest park gate but a 200 rmb taxi ride from the airport at zhangjiajie. i would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other travellers and would certainly stay there again. the restaurant is extraordinarily cheap for a 5 star hotel and good as well.

Nice stay, but Chinese skills are very helpful”
We spent two really nice nights in this hotel. Rooms are very clean, big an nice and also the breakfast buffet is really good. You can walk to one of the entrances of the Zhangjiajie scenic area and by taxi easily reach other gates of that large park. Reception and travel agency do however not speak English, so some chinese skills are needed if you want advice on where to go in Zhangjiajie.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel and area. Wulingyuan Park is at 15 minutes walk from the hotel. They offered free shuttle in and out to the airport. Considering it is a 45 minutes ride, it representas a good value. Incredibly nice staff, some of them with a good English speaking level.

Chinese Hotel, clean and good located”
The hotel is very close to the sightseeing locations, e.g. the ZhangJiaJie National Forest Park. By foot approx. 20 min. Around the hotel there is not very much special, just a few shops and chinese restaurants. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms have european standard. The staff can speak more or less english. The is one restaurant in which you can also order some international dishes. In the evening there is a bar available, unfortunatly here the communcation is quite difficult due to the language. As improvement there should be some more staff with knowledge in english language.

NIce hotel with helpful and considerate staff. The only downside was that the level of English spoken by the staff was very low, apart from one employee. For a hotel described as "International" this is not acceptable.

Nice hotel, but absolutely not 5 star worthy”
it's a very nice hotel, don't get me wrong, but it's really not a 5 star hotel like they suggest. my major points, why i think it is overrated: * no room service / food after 10:30 pm * breakfast only until 9:00 am - and afterwards all restaurants are closed * a tourist office where nobody speaks a single word of english

We have been staying in five stars hotels all the world. We had never seen such friendly, caring and helpful front desk staff particularly Jane. Seeing us coming back wet by rain, she quickly sent us two cups of hot ginger Tea.

When there, ask for "Jack" (named himself after seeing Pirates of the Carribbean). He can speak english and give you advice about visiting the national park and everything. We had a great stay in the hotel, just splendid!

The hotel was of good standard but it cannot go as five stars. The restaurant was cold in the evening and the pool was closed for the winter (indoor).
