Vally No. 5 Stole our hearts!”
This place is absolutely amazing. The Aesthetic, the Staff, THE FOOD, the Scenery, All of it. We were completely surprised by the quality of the place. Probably some of the best sleep we have had in a very long time, certainly in China. Rain is the man, he really made our stay very memorable. It was a pretty exciting and somewhat long drive from the City to the Inn, however it gave us a great look at the local scene and all the changes that are going on in Zhangjiajie. It is kind of a shame that that drive is changing because by autumn 2018 the new highway to the park is going to be finished. Thankfully the 1000 acres that the Inn is on may go for the most part untouched. Zhangjiajie is known for its natural beauty, and Valley No.5 Inn is a fantastic way to immerse yourself and feel the peace of nature. Next time we go to Zhangjiajie, we will stay at Valley No. 5!

The road to our valley is under construction so it is bumpy and a little long. According to the government report, it will finished at the end of this year. Incredible Inn with Amazing Staff”
My wife and I spent our anniversary here together in April, 2017. We had a wonderful stay! Not only was our room fantastic with unbelievable views of the valley, the front desk staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The 2 young women at the front desk were highly professional, communicative, and accommodating. They helped make our stay even better. Also, we definitely recommend eating dinner at the inn. It is a little pricey, but the food was amazing. Some of the best home cooked food we've had in China! We hope we can visit Zhangjiajie again in the future, and if we do, we will for sure stay at No. 5 Valley Inn. We have recommended it to all of our American friends living in China as well.

Especially for the infinity pool, it has an exclusive view of our rice valley and sunset scenery. The food we propose is high quality green organic food, all the food material are farm to table. Our August 2018 stay at No. 5 Valley Inn was a terrific respite from the city. It is close to the park entrance, and their drivers will take you to and from the park. The staff were polite, friendly, timely and attentive. They exceeded our expectations for food and drink. Breakfast and dinner was always fresh and flavorful, and while we were able to order what we wanted we found that their standard offerings were more than sufficient. The saturday night barbeque on the porch was fun (the staff made us aware of mosquitos in advance and this was the only time we experienced them). The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The tubs are terrific as was the infinity pool where we spent a great deal of time after walking in the forest park. We will return.

Amazing rustic cabin hotel in the woods with incredible service!”
We had the pleasure of staying in No. 5 Valley hotel and was greeted with fantastic accommodations and incredible curated service! Our concierge Li Feng was exceptionally helpful in every way, always staying in contact with us via WeChat and guiding us through our stay. The homemade breakfast and dinner were also lovely. Every room has its own unique and rustic character. Li Feng and the staff will also arrange transportation and tours if needed. They really make you feel like a VIP :) If you’re looking to experience Zhangjiajie, this is the way to go. Highly highly recommended; this is one of our best experiences in all of our travels.

Perfect place for a family holiday to Zhangjaijei National Park”
The perfect place to stage your holiday to Zhangjiajie National Park. It’s about 5 minutes from the “back entrance” to the park. It’s a lot less crowded when you enter from this side. No lines for tickets or the busses. The staff at No 5 will take you to the park entrance and pick you up. They give you a little phone thing that you can use to call and request a ride. The food is great. The accommodations are unique and authentic. But the grounds of the resort are amazing. The rice paddies and walkways just off the back of the resort are one of the highlights of our trip. Rain, the manager, was so great. He even mailed a set of headphones to us that we left in the room accidentally. A new highway is under construction that will make access to the resort a lot quicker. They also arranged a car to take us to and from the airport.

Lovely place and people”
This was a lovely place to stay to be out of town and in a more serene environment. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, gave us really helpful information (even the best spots to watch sunset from) and had good English. The facilities were great, it was hot when we went so the pool was prefect. We really enjoyed having dinner each night which was something prepared by a local woman based on what was seasonal. The shuttle to the park left regularly and staff ensured a car was there to bring you back in a timely manner. We were also given really good advice on trails to take to see what we'd hoped to. We spent one day in the Zhangjiajie scenic park then a day on Tianmen Mountain. The mountain was about an hour and a half away (back at Zhangjiajie village) and staff organised transport for us (¥200 each way). The airport transfers were also ¥200 each way or a little more if you needed it very late or very early. Overall, it made our trip to Zhangjiajie that bit extra special!

Best place to stay at Zhangjiajie”
A very pleasant stay at the lodge. Very close to the quieter and more convenient entrance of the Zhangjiajie forest park (the owner will drive you there and pick you up everyday). A very clean and cool creek at the bottom of the fields down by the lodge. We took a joyful walk there. The owner and staff are very helpful with your itinerary planning.

I love this hotel. I love the remote of the hotel and the beautiful view of the valley. I can't get enough of this place. The owner was very nice and help us planned out our trip for the day. She also helped arranged a guide and take us to Zhangiajie National Park. The hotel from the park is only 5 minutes away which makes it a lot nicer. A nice local meal is prepared for us daily. I love the fact that every hotel unit have it's own relax area with a fire place and kitchen so that you can enjoy yourself. Love Love. Thank you Nancy. I am so glad I made the choice I made. I highly recommend this hotel if you are planning to get away from the city and just enjoy the beautiful view. Breath taking. I am planning my future stay at this hotel again.

Excellent setting, service, and value”
Words cannot express how wonderful it was to stay in this hotel. After almost a week in Beijing, this charming and peaceful mountain resort was just what we needed! Amber and all of the other staff were so accommodating to every request--from taxi transfers to arranging meals to quick rides on the golf cart to the park entrance. After a long day of hiking, dinners were offered at a time of our choosing and always included five entrees with tea and rice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie or travelers to China that want an experience off the beaten path.

Deep China resort ”
I can’t possibly say enough good things in this space. It was amazing. The property is gorgeous. The food is authentic Chinese. Delicious local Tuja cuisine. There are two dogs on the property you can pet. Summer and Csong-Csong. Red and cream golden retrievers. Good pals. It is close to the national park and they will provide transport and a choice of itinerary. The best part was our host Rain. He was amazing. Kind, smart, friendly. His English was perfect and he helped us with everything we needed. The service and warmth was unbelievable. Ask for Rain as your host! This is the way to do China! Enjoy the park and local activities and then return to the resort to relax and eat. You won’t regret it. The pictures are amazing. This is one in a life time experience.

Experiencing Chinese countryside”
Call the number listed as soon as you are ready to go to the Inn. It is located in the Yangjiajie side (West Gate) of Wulingyuan Scenic spot which encompasses the whole area. There are four gates total where one gate can be 2 hours by car to the other side. I got sent to 2 different gates by the people I asked for directions when I tried to get there by myself. The owner will pick you up at a highway junction or the Yangjiajie gate as per any previous agreements made. The Inn is located by a road surrounded by farms and mountains and as it's a small Inn, locals don't even realize that it's there. It is well worth staying there though if you want to just relax. The owner is very nice and helpful, breakfast is simple home-cooked Chinese and any additional meals can be arranged with the owner ahead of time for a small fee. A local tour guide can be arranged with him for 100rmb per day. The owner and guide only speak Chinese, though the owner uses a translator to communicate. There is also a very nice Granny there so it felt like I was a guest in their home rather than a stranger.

Tranquil and beautiful setting near Zhangjiajie ”
The owners of this beautiful inn moved back from Beijing to the husband's family's land. The inn is near the West Gate of Zhangjiajia, and is located in a valley with terraced fields and surrounding wooded hills. The owners have hired locals to build the inn using traditional woodworking methods and design, and have hired locals to cook and care for the inn. This is providing employment so that locals do not need to move from the area to find work. So far, there is room for only 9 guests, but they will soon be able to accomodate 32. The meals are excellent--local recipes. Breakfast is included with the fee, but dinner is not. Guests eat dinner family style. We enjoyed talking with the wife, Nancy, her husband, and the other guests. Nancy speaks English fluently. All the other guests were Chinese when we were there, but other international guests have stayed at the inn. If guests do not speak Mandarin, Nancy can arrange for one of the locals to accompany guests into the park. This inn exceeded all of our expectations.

A hidden gem. ”
Love the fact that they are a stand alone hotel. Thus u have full privacy and the hotel is not crowded at all (they have around 20-30rooms/villas). Basically u have the entire mountain valley to urself. They have a private padi field with yoga patio, private plum tree garden , pub, Swimming pool, pond. Dinner cooked by the village Aunty was extremely tasty and healthy, especially the ginger black chicken soup! However , the hotel can improve on their online booking presentation, I actually booked a room with my bed facing the window so I can catch the sunrise from my bed(as per their picture) but I was not given such a room. Also, during checked-out, the receptionist was not that friendly when I feedback to her that the workers started the renovation works at 6am, so they should advise the workers to start work later. This is the basic of hotel/service industry as ur customer need rest. The hotel are still constructing New rooms, thus there's some renovation going on. My suggestions- We actually trekked and took cable car from Wu ling yuan to Yang Jia Jie to reach this hotel (instead do driving up to the hotel becos we start our trip from Wu ling yuan). But overall , the inn was very nice, tastefully decorated.

The Best resort ”
Its such a beautiful resort in term of architecture of the building as well as the natural view of the valley. The best customer service ever , the staff Danke was go above and beyond. She was very attentive and super lovely. Gave us private tour on the valley as well as became our photographer of the day and arrange all of activities at the resort. Did I mention the food are amazing too? Highly recommended for everyone from solo, couple or family traveler even for corporate outing.

You want to impress your friends. This place had the killer outdoor pool looking down the mountainous valley. Hotel closed to the Yangjiajie entrance that will lead you to the Avatar Hallelujah scenic area where the movie AVATAR was filmed. The reception was excellent. Yes, this hotel does speak English. This property scores high on convenience, service and proximity to wulingyuan national park. The staffs, especially Amber, are attentive and super helpful. Feels like home away from home. The only downside is the road leading to the property is under repair, hence, very bumpy. Recommend not to check in at night due to road condition.

Just ask them to not give you the room right next to the play room if you plan on sleeping in. And there are lots of bugs above the shower (it's a glass cube) but it wasn't an issue at all. Pack bug repellent because the mosquitos come out at night and will bite like crazy. The pool is awesome, the staff is perfect, and the dinner is delicious. The breakfast is a feast. I loved it so much! The rooster crows around 5 or 6 so go to bed early and wake up early. Not much to do at night other than swim and play in the play room, so get up early and go to the park. The location is unbeatable. Only 7 minutes away from the park and they have a driver drop you off and pick you up for free. It's awesome. Just need to ask to borrow someone's phone to call the hotel when you're ready to be picked up. The wifi is great too. Worked just fine with our VPN. The staff speaks great English and takes time to talk to you. They are awesome.
