Perfect location and Generous, Thoughtful Hosts”

We spent 4 nights at Wake Up Muang Kao Boutique Hotel and were so impressed with the owners- a young husband and wife team who went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. We stayed during the Loy Krathong Festival and were up quite late a couple of nights enjoying the festivities and watching the passing parade as hundreds of festival goers made their way home. I felt bad about keeping them up but they so generous and accommodating. They also arranged various transport, patiently answered our endless questions and organised a local driver so we could go out to Si Satchanalai (highly recommended). We also observed Pom go out of her way to help some travellers who turned up on the final night of the festival looking for a room (no booking) when the whole of town was long since booked out, she spent a good half hour of her own time locating them something. I hope they gave her a tip because she really went above and beyond! The hotel itself is beautifully presented, incredibly clean and there's plenty of open, welcoming spaces downstairs to socialise. I loved the breakfast set up- you can help yourself to toast, cereal, fruit, tea and coffee which is available all day (the tea was a standout for me- my first proper loose leaf brewed tea in over a month of accommodation in Thailand). The location is perfect with the entrance to the Historical Park just up the road (3 min walk) and plenty of local, open air restaurants as well as the local food market to choose from. Also massage, laundries and 7/11's. We would absolutely return.

Terrific stay”

Located just a minute's bike ride away from Sukhothai Historical Park, Wake Up at Muang Kao is a fantastic place to stay if you wish to explore the park. My room was huge, spotless, and well decorated. It faced the street but there was no traffic noise that I could hear. There are multiple restaurants and bike rentals just steps away and there is also a 7 Eleven and a small night market down the street if you have a craving for cheap & tasty meat on a stick. Staff is very friendly and have a great map to show you where everything is. Fruit, toast, and tea/coffee are always available as well.

Fabulous, informative Staff!”

We believe this part of our trip was the very best. Sukothai Historical Park is not to be missed! Wake Up Muang Kao is perfectly situated just outside the Historical Park. The rooms were very clean. The bed, as most Thai beds, was hard. We had a balcony. The bathroom was simple but perfectly useable. The very best part was how much valuable information was given to us regarding local special events, where to find good food and rent a bike. We felt like kids again riding our bikes through the well paved park roads without bothersome car traffic. English seems to be understood, but some Thai on the traveler's part would be useful, but not completely necessary. Staff organized good transport for us to Phitsanulouk. Overall, a great little place to stay. Popular, make reservations! We would stay again!

i am totally blown”

this is the first hotel ever that make me feel totally blown. i was in sukhothai for 1 day to visit the historical park. from sukhothai bus terminal i took a public transport tuk-tuk for 150baht (bargain from 250baht). room was very clean, with lots of windows, airy, nice decor and feel comfortable. they are using key to lock/unlock the door, so after hours of cycling and sweating i came back to my room with nice cold air-condition still on. staff was very friendly and immediately recognize me as the guess who has booked the hotel for the night. she also explain to me how to tour the historical park. breakfast was simple and self-service, but it was available all day and night as much as you can. how lovely. i totally totally reccomend this hotel to anyone coming to sukhothai. btw their place is also the pick up point for Air-asia, there is a minivan who will pick you up and send you to phitsanulok airport. the journey takes around 1 hour. they only have 5 rooms available, so book early. you've been warned!

Good Family run Hotel.”

It was Songkran when were at Wake up at Muang Kao, all water fighting activity was right in front of the hotel. Also the Songkran procession of "queens" passed through infront of the hotel to Historical park. The hotel is also very close to the Historical Park, it takes a short 2 min walk and can be there before the tourists from New Sukhothai visit the park. So a calmer visit of the park is possible. As this hotel is ran by a husband & wife and they have only 5 rooms, there is great amount of personal attention. There is no breakfast served but lot of banana, bread and coffee kept for the use of te guest.

Excellent Location ”

We loved staying at Wake Up! It was extremely clean. We also enjoyed having a room with a balcony. The location of the hotel is perfect. The hotel is right by several bike rental shops and the entrance to central area of Sukhothai Historical Park. In addition, we booked a city transfer and flight to Bangkok on Air Asia, and the pickup for the city transfer is the Wake Up hotel. Our transfer was very early in the morning, so we felt fortunate that we were able to get up and just go downstairs to the Air Asia van.

Great Location, Friendly service”

The hotel is a family run. The two owners are very polite, friendly and informative. We were provided a map of the Historic Park and couple leaflets with essential information about Sukhothai when we checked in. The place is only five minutes walk to the Historic park, 7-1, and restaurants. There is a local market opposite the hotel. Buses from Bangkok stop right in front of the hotel, and the bus company to Chiang Mai and Bangkok locates only 10 minutes walk. If you are not to fuzzy with proper breakfast, this place provides you all day snacks, instant coffee and tea including a small bottle of water, and some fruits which the owners bought from the locals. The room is huge and super clean. The bed is very comfortable. I took away one score because the next morning, I got woken up at 5:30 am by the noise of Thai songs and announcement through the loudspeakers from the market opposite the hotel. In all, I'm very satisfied and would recommend this hotel to others.

Great Guest House”

Wake Up is a really great place to stay if your visiting Sukhothai Historical Park. The rooms are quite large, nicely laid out and very clean. The owners really take care of their guests and provide helpful advice. The entrance to the Park is just five minutes walk up the road. The only thing they don't offer is breakfast but there are lots of restaurants around for breakfast/lunch/dinner so its no problem. I highly recommend Wake Up.

Perfect place for visiting Sukhothai!”

Wake up Boutique was great: the staff was amazing, they helped out with everything, made phone calls for us and were so nice!!! The hotel is located 2 minutes from the entrance of the historical park- perfekt location with Food and bike rentals nearby. They serve breakfast 24/7 (toast, coffee, nothing special but the important basics) and think of everything: even after having checked out we could take a shower after a long sweaty day in the park. It was comfortable and clean. We would definitely come again!

Excellent choice”

This hotel was an excellent choice to stay near the park. We came in on 7am flight from Bangkok, got on the private airport shuttle to the hotel (40 min ride?), dropped our bags at hotel and walked around corner to rent bikes. The park is just across the street! All very easy. We had a wonderful time riding around the park and so glad our hotel was just across the street after a full day. There is a row of restaurants next door, so we refreshed in our room, walked a few steps outside to dinner, then walked across the street again to see the park lit up at night (Saturday nights illuminated). The hotel is spotlessly clean. The owner is very warm and helpful. We asked for the room to be sprayed for mosquitoes when we arrived. We saw only one and easily took care of it! Bathroom was spotlessly clean too. Shower worked great. Free wifi was easy to connect and strong. We were very comfortable and would highly recommend to friends as the perfect choice to stay in Sukhothai based on location to park and cleanliness.

Supportive owners and superb location ”

We stayed overnight at the hotel which is located right at the entrance of the historical park. The room is spacious with good facilities. Very clean and well maintained room. It very well deserve the title boutique hotel for its facilities and ideal location. Though breakfast is not available according to the owners, there is continuous supply of fresh fruits, bread, butter and jam and tea/coffee for the guests, which was more than sufficient for us for breakfast. We were travelling by road. The biggest support from the owners came when engine of our car could not be started when we were about to leave. They helped us by calling a mechanic who could come with a spare battery so that we could continue our trip. We were so impressed by the efficiency and friendliness of the owners since all this happened in a span 20 minutes on a Sunday morning. Big thanks !!

Good quality hotel/calm/nice staff”

At walking distance of the Sukhothai historical park this nice and small hotel offers everything you need for a night or two. Bed was hard though so if you expect a soft one you will be disappointed. Hotel owner was nice and we could understand each other easily with basic English. A small and simple sweet breakfast was offered in the morning. A few little restaurants are all around the hotel but the city sleeps early so take that into consideration if you want to stay awake late. Besides the historical park and the few temples there is nothing else to do in Sukhothai so a 1 to 2 night stay is way more than enough.

Great experience”

We have a stop in Sukhothai for only one night and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this small hotel. The hotel is located right at the entrance to Sukothai Historical park and bicycles can be rented around the corner from the hotel. There are many fantastic things to see in and around the park. If you have an interest in Thai history and culture, it is the right place to book your hotel. For a 2 star hotel it was super close to luxurious !:O)

Brilliant place!”

This hotel is absolutely fantastic, one of the nicest, best value places I have stayed in over dozens of trips to Asia. A charming little boutique hotel designed in traditional Thai style, it has lovely rooms with modern bathrooms. The staff are extremely helpful, the location is as good as it gets in Sukhothai, the price is very affordable and there is a basic breakfast thrown in to boot. Stay here, you will not regret it.

Perfect Location! Great staff and room!”

This hotel is located on the main street in Old Sukhothai. It's the perfect location...just a short walk to the main part of the archeological park as well as the bicycle rental store. The room was huge for Thai hotel standards with plenty of outlets to charge our devices and wonderful working A/C. The bathroom has a half wall separating the shower area (along with a shower curtain) from the toilet so everything that needs to can stay dry!!! Even though Agoda lists this hotel as not offering breakfast, they do offer complimentary toast, coffee/tea and fruit in the lobby in the mornings (you make yourself)! The staff is so nice and helpful. The lady at the counter speaks pretty good English and provided us with a map and suggestions about where to bike and when - it was spot on! Her husband does not speak as much English but he was very nice as well. Definitely would stay here again!

An excellent hotel in Sukhothai Old Town”

The hotel is located in the main road and next to the Historical Park. There are 7-11, a small night market, restaurants within 3 min walk. The room condition was very good, new, clean, spacious and with a nice balcony. Sukhothai old town is beautiful and calm, and the hotel is really a wonderful place to stay when visiting the old town.

Great location! Helpful staff!”

Wish we had arranged to stay two or more days in order to visit more of the Historical Park. The guesthouse has a perfect location just outside the entrance to the park. We walked through the friendly neighborhood and the park at night and it was lovely. We attended a special historical presentation by local college of arts performers in the park, while spectators were seated on a nearby island. Music, fireworks, traditional dancing, local artisans, local food were all presented within the park and was an unexpected surprise. The room was clean. The bathroom was simple but welcomed after a long day. The staff was extremely helpful with organizing transport, bicycle rentals and restaurant choices. Reservations are necessary as they only have 5 rooms.

Great stay near the park”

It was the great stay in the fanily room. The room is nice , very clean and big enough. Staffs' service were great. The location is very close to Sukothai Historic Park (3-5 mins by walk). There are some local restaurants nearby which are cheap and delicious. We picked the closest one (it's on the right from the hotel) which we found out it was the right choice.Our stay is perfect and I highly recommend everyone who want to visit Sukothai to stay in this hotel. P.S. We don't recommend the restauants where are opposite the Historical Park because they are waste your money and the teaste is not that nice.

Small, quiet, good location”

Lovely 5 roomed family run hotel close to the entrance of sukhothai historical park. Staff were friendly and gave their own recommendations, such as where to see the sun rise from. Would stay again without hesitation.

Small, friendly, comfortable B&B”

Excellent. Good to have tea, coffee, fruit corner in reception available all day. Very close to wonderful historic park in Sukhothai and within an hour's drive of an equally beautiful historic park in Si Satchanalai (Songthaew arranged by Hotel). Local restaurants good but not gourmet.
