Comfortable Japanese style room”
I got Japanese style room this time and it is very comfortable. The staffs are friendly and ready to help you. Even though it takes you 15-20 minutes walk from the station and you’d better call a taxi from the station , the hotel provide you a shuttle bus from the hotel back to the station when you check out , just make a reservation ahead.

Only buffet, both dinner and breakfast, that you need to come early because you might miss some of them.

nice tatami room :) very clean as per japanese standards. meals are all buffet though, we took the package with breakfast and dinner. traditional japanese food, loved the DIY nabe (hotpot). there’s nothing much nearby though, need to go out

it is a beautifuk hotel with a beautiful onsen in a serene area near the kaminoyama castle. Food was great and staff are friendly. Very beautiful during Sakura time.

Good average ryokan-like hotel”
A hotel that provides traditional-style Japanese rooms is not neccesarily a ryokan, but it kind of feel like one. When I arrived by taxi, a staff member was waiting for me the guide me and my luggage inside, which is a nice touch. The room was just fine. A good average Japanese-style room. More than enough space to move around, as is the nature of such rooms. Nice and quiet as well, and enough ways to heat up or cool down the room. The public bath was a bit naff. It felt great, but it's just a big tiled bath without much traditional look&feel. The outdoor bath was a little bit better, being a stone bath, but was too hot for my liking. The dressing room was surprizingly spacious. All in all, I did enjoy my stay here, but I've come to expect slightly better quality overall, given the price of the room.

The hotel is nice, clean and traditional. Staffs are very helpful even there is no English signage much. Breakfast is great. View from hotel room and reception is stunning! Small bathtub (onsen) in room. We do not have a chance to try outdoor onsen but pretty sure it is a very nice one. Lovely place to stay. Highly recommended!!

Very spacious rooms and mini fridge stocked with beverages. Gift shop open until 2130, selling beverages and gifts and snacks. Reception was friendly and they have large yukata garb to change into for the big hubby. Onsen switches daily from Male to Female, allowing users of onsen to try both baths. Futons were thick and we slept nicely. Close to many attractions like Samurai village. Pay the extra for the inclusive breakfast--it is worth the cost; what a variety of western and Japanese foods. Five stars.

Really nice hotel with superb service”
When you enter the hotel the lobby looks a bit dated but with a certain Showa era charm. The garden in the back is beautiful. The rooms are good and very spacious. But what is really outstanding is the service. There were multiple occasions of the staff going out of their way to make our stay more confortable, to provide us with directions, to even take us to bus stops. Service was outstanding throughout. Finally, the food in the buffet was very good quality and with amazing variety and I liked the onsen. Will definitely come back.

高校生・大学生3人の子連れだったので、朝夜バイキングで、しかも地元の食材を豊富に使ったメニューの豊富さに大満足でした。ジュース・アルコール類も飲み放題で、家族連れにはピッタリの食事でした。古き良き昭和の雰囲気を残す、賑やかな旅館の様子が楽しく、スタッフの皆さんもとても親切でしたので、あとは部屋のトイレの壁紙と襖、畳をリフォームするともっとホテルの評価が上がると思います。壁のシミや襖の補修の跡、擦れた古い畳などだけが気になりました。 周りに武家屋敷や上山城があり、ちょっとした散策が出来て楽しかったです。

露天風呂は、源泉温度62.8度のかけ流し風呂で気持ちよく入浴を楽しめます。露天風呂は少し小さめですが早朝風呂で独り占めするには丁度良い。バイキング方式の朝夕食卓で気兼ねなく好きなものを選択できますがアルコール類もその中に含まれていたため追加費用の心配もなくおいしく頂けることが出来ました。お料理の味付けは､可もなく不可もなくですが米沢牛を使った牛丼はお勧めです。ホテル設備に多少の古さを感じますが不便ではなく宿泊料に相当する程度。昔､社員旅行で楽しんだ宿泊先を思い出しました。
