Looks extremely old and dirty from the outside but spotless and spacious inside. Location is top notch. The room first assigned to us initially smelled overwhelmingly like second hand cigarette smoke. We asked for a change in room and they helped us get a smoke free room.

highly recommended for budget traveller”

The location is great. It's just in front of the train station and bus stops. The hotel is old but it's decent. I remember smelling cigarette smoke from the toilet maybe someone from another room was smoking and smoke went through the ventilators. It was really bad. I would still recommend this for people who are just passing by or for an overnight stay. They also have lockers outside or you can ask the reception to keep your bag for you. They're friendly.

Foodstalls , restaurants , convenient stores nearby . Night market and market not too far away-within walking distance. Some maybe further away. Train station nearby (few minutes walk) to connect to other destinations like Taipei or Kaohsiung. Hotel rooms spacious, and clean, toilet too. A/C and wifi good.

My children prefer this hotel to the one in Taipei even though the Taipei hotel has 1 more star and more expensive. The rooms at Tie Dao Hotel are very spacious. Reception upgraded one of our 2 rooms so that we could be on the same floor. Staff are helpful in providing tips and directions.

Convenient location”

A good budget hotel 50m from Tainan TRA station. Ok the building is not attractive, but for the cost, the rooms are spacious clean and excellent value for money. 7/11 by reception, bus stops outside, and 10 minutes walk to a couple of department stores.
