On a budget? Find Cheap Hotels in Halmstad, Sweden

"I stayed one night here when I went to Halmstad to see a concert with the Swedish band Gyllene Tider. I chose this place due to the price, but it turned out that the hostel was inside the concert venue - and from my room I actually had a full view of the whole scene and audience of the concert! However, I still chose to go inside and see the concert as my ticket already was bought - instead of just watching it all from my window. The hostel is simple like many hostels are, but nice. I brought my own towel and bed sheets - otherwise you have to pay to rent it. Please be aware, that you must clean your room before leaving - or pay to have it cleaned. And the reception is not open 24-7. Internet access also requiers a fee. The hostel is next to the harbour for sailing boats, five minutes walk from the train station and approx. 10 minutes walk from the city center. There are not many bars, cafes or restaurants near the hostel. I only saw one - an Italian restaurant - along the sea side when I walked towards city. The staff is friendly and I got my own 4-bed room with own bath room as I had ordered a single room. Halmstad is a very nice, provincial Swedish town with a nice city center, access to the sea/water and near very attractive beaches (and of course the home town of Per Gessle - leader singer in the world-famous band Roxette - and in the Nordic-famous band Gyllene Tider:-)"

"I came to Halmstad just for 2 nights and stayed in a single economy room. This hotel is more than sufficient if all you plan on doing is just have a place to sleep. The breakfast was really good and more than enough with a bit of everything. Awesome thing is that free coffee and juive is provided in the dining area for as long as the reception is open. Only negative really is the bathroom which has a strange way of converting into a shower and as it is all essentially the same thing the floor will stay wet for a while unless you dry it with the mop type of thing they provide u with. But other than that I was happy with what was provided. I would definitely stay here again."
