Excellent”

I absolutely loved staying at The Myth-Sud Sathorn during my stay in Bangkok! The building is extremely unique and authentic. Also, our room was impeccably clean and comfortable. I was initially nervous about staying here because of previous reviews about noise coming from the highway, but the noise didn't bother me at all (and I'm a light sleeper). The hotel is conveniently located near the Sathon Pier and BTS, which made getting around the city incredibly easy. The staff were also amazing! I didn't catch the manager's name, but she greeted us with a big smile when we arrived from the airport, despite it being 2am. She also provided us with a hand-drawn map (!!!) of the surrounding area and was happy give us with food/restaurant recommendations. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bangkok!

A comfortable, relaxing, enjoyable stay”

I'm not quite sure how to describe The Myth-Sud Sathorn -- it's bigger and looks more up-market than a typical guesthouse yet the cosy, somewhat traditional and informal ambience (because it is refurbished from a restored old building) make it unlike the typical hotel. My room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with good choices. Location is excellent as barely 100m away are Sapan Taksin BTS and the Sathorn Pier where you can take the river boat to Asiatique or to explore attractions along the river. If you're a foodie, you'll love it that you're in the old part of Bangkok where some of the most popular eateries which have stood the test of time can be found. The only unfortunate thing is that the building lies along a main road, but I have to say that this did not take away the enjoyment of my stay there.

Came several times, already been like my second home. every time i came to bangkok, i choose to come back to this hotel. the hotel is actually modified from a building which is over 120 years old. so you should be about to find it quite fasinating with the appearance as well as the style. besides, the location is easy to find. it is just across the bts station, Saphan Taksin. And you can also access the Asiatique Night Market by the free shuttle boat at the ferry port just beside the bts station. you can find 7-11, lots of restaurants/bars, and a shopping mall, which has a big supermarket closes at 12am, very close to the hotel. the staffs are always super nice. and they are easy to communicate as they speak perfect English. the breakfast is fabulous. the room is suprisingly huge, comfy and tidy. the only down side i could carp is that the washrooms lack ventilation. but you actually don't really call it a flaw because it is understandable that the owners want to preserve the old build

Family Bed & Breakfast”

Travelling in group of 3, we are lucky to find the Studio room in this place. The room is spacious and completed with amenities for 3 person. The price is included bfast start from 8-10am with a'la carte selection. They can assist you with halal bfast and take away if you had to leave before the bfast terace is open. This place is owned by family and they are very helpful and welcome to the guests. They could give advice and suggestion on anything. 2 minutes walk from BTS Saphan Taksin and 7-11 store. Just 2 doors away you can find a massage service. Recommended after all day walking around in Bangkok. Suggestion; As I like to drink warm water in the morning, it will be nice if they can provide electronic kettle in the room.

Good place for sightseeing”

It is located so close to Saphan Taksin BTS and wharf that you might find it convenient if you look to visiting riverside sites like three biggest temples, Asiatique, Icon Siam etc. or anywhere accessible by BTS. There are a local shopping center, markets, shops and restaurants in short walk distance too. The downside is, as other reviewers mention, it is very noisy. Right next to flyovers. The host are aware of it. Earplugs were provided free of charge. We fell asleep without using them though. If you are very sensitive to noise or light sleeper, sadly it can’t be recommended. The owner was nice and friendly. This is a family run hotel which has a history. The building is conservative but guest rooms and hallway seemed refurbished. Room itself was clean. Breakfast was delicious!

one of the best hotels in bangkok. very good staff. they offered me breakfast on 1st day as my last day flight was early in the morning. only problem was at night when hi speed vehicle runs over flyover above the windows of the hotel. they have provided ear cap .. but if they arrange light music in earphone or speaker in night it could be better for sleeping .. but again its ok for bangkok..

A gem of a stay in BKK”

Great location, charming place, good service

We took a risk to stay in this very new B&B with hardly any reviews, but were very pleasantly surprised. Location wise, it is just within a couple of hundred metres at most from Saphan Taksin BTS and the boat piers - very convenient for going almost anywhere in BKK by almost any mode of transport! The house has a lot of history over a hundred years, and it has been newly restored and converted to a B&B. It is family run and the service is great and very personal, they even take you on a 'tour' to explain the history of the house. Breakfast is served in a nicely restored dining room or by the open yard and is freshly prepared like homemade food only when you arrive. The meals though simple are nice - more like eating in someone's home than the run-off-the-mill stuff you get at many hotels. The rooms have high ceilings and all the furniture is custom made and new. They have a few minor hiccups as with any new place, but I'm sure they will sort this out in no time. Only major negative is the location is beside a highway so it can be a bit noisy - this was not a problem for us but light sleepers may find this a challenge. At this price it is great value and we enjoyed out stay. IMHO it's a real gem of an accommodation in BKK.

Fine choice if it's your first time in Bangkok and inexperienced. ”

The Myth has a very good location, and the staff(a family) is very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean (opened in November, so the plaster hasn't started cracking yet.), the bathrooms clean, internet is pretty good, and there are news programs in different languages on TV. So what's wrong? Nothing, but there many hotels nearby that provide things like umbrellas and hot water kettles, especially important if you like some coffee before the very late starting hour of 8:00 AM for breakfast. As for breakfast, there is a set menu with three choices: two western and one Asian. Some of those other hotels actually have some choice of foods and variety from day to day for breakfast. I thought I'd try a different place, but next time I'll return to Bossotel or Sala Daeng Boutique Guesthouse

Not A Gem But More Than Suffice”

Like the newly refurbished room. It has a balance of Thai and functional minimalist style. The whole property has a semi classic ambience. Breakfast was reasonably good with choices of Asian and Western favourites. Walking distance to Sathorn (Thaksin) Pier and a BTS (rail transit) station, Robinsons Mall, 7-Eleven. Also two (or three) doors away from a massage place. A bit difficult to find the place due to the hotel's rather innocuous signage. May not be suitable for guests with toddlers as windows were low and open without safety railing and beds while comfortable, were high. Overall we had a good night stay there.

Great Location, Great Staff, Great Service, Great Price”

We were greeted by husband, wife, and their daughter with "Are you Kevin? Welcome, you are the last arriving guess for today". The check-in procedure was very quick, pleasant, and room was available for immediate use.....by the way, we got there before 12:00 noon. The daughter, 4th generation owner, even accompanied us to the room and showed us the facilities. The room was spacious, articulately clean, and well designed. Love the white silky comforter and the two full size beds. Many mentioned about the noise from the highway but it was a non issue for us. The two windows were secured with double glass and you do hear motorcycles speeding down the highway time to time but noise from air conditioner from some other hotels are much distracting than this. The breakfast was included and you get to choose one of 10 Western or Thai dish from the menu. In addition, there were fruit juice and watermelon on the side for self service. I would consider their hospitality excellent.

Cheap, practical, distinctive – shame about the traffic noise”

Imaginative conversion of an old family mansion near the river. Location excellent for Sathorn Pier ferries and Saphan Thaksin BTS, but spoiled by loud all-night traffic from the elevated Bridge Road right opposite our bedroom window. Very helpful staff provided breakfast box, since we were checking out before breakfast. Reception closed after 9:00 p.m., access only by keycode.

Intense, constant highway noise meters away”

You would not know this from the photos on Agoda but this hotel is directly next to a busy highway and elevated train track as well as a surface street in addition. Most of the rooms are either slightly below eye level or slightly above eye level with an elevated highway only nine or so meters away; you are looking directly at it. So all night long you are hearing trucks, motorcycles, buses and cars a few meters from your window. And until about midnight you are also hearing the elevated mass transit trains (the Bangkok sky train BTS). When the building was converted to a hotel they unwisely did not use multi-pane glass windows or shutters; these are ordinary single pane windows without noise absorbing curtains. There is a pleasant outdoor patio used for breakfast (very good) but it is closed promptly at 10 am. Other than that there is no outdoor space. I did not see any comfortable user-friendly lounge area, but there may have been one closed off somewhere. On the positive side, cleanliness was close to perfect. Renovations were recent, so everything looks nice inside. But for about the same money nearby you can get a pool, outdoor patios, lounges, and much quieter rooms.

During our 3 week trip to Thailand this was our last stop and it was the best! This family owned hotel has so much pride and history u can feel it when u walk in the door. The rooms were spacious and soooooo clean. The breakfast was amazing and they made sure we were full. My wife took a tour of the hotel to get the history of the building and she really enjoyed it. The family really made us feel welcomed and we will definitely be back. Look no further this is the hotel you want!!!

We came for Song Kran 2019. Had a good time. This hotel was our choice to stay at. The staffs are friendly, always smiling. After a hard day out, to come back to the hotel and be welcomed with a smile made our day. The rooms are clean. Despite the fact that the hotel is located near the highway, we never had any problems with the noise. It is great to know that the hotel had a 120 years history behind it. I would definitely come back here again for my next trip to BKK.

Beautiful renovated Shop-Houses form many decades ago, just Great! ”

A very nice Hotel which is conveniently located at the Taksin Bridge with the BTS station as well the river pier to take the boat for sightseeing. It has a very special feeling to it as it is a building which must be close to 100 years old and the owner totally renovated it while maintaining the its old style of coloring and high ceilings. The Staff was most friendly and very helpful. They provide a good breakfast in the quiet backyard. The only less positive point is the traffic noise from the bridge which even with closed windows is quite noisy. However the challenge can be improved as I suggested to the Owners to ask a window contractor who has to be a bit innovative to add a 2nd window inside the room which will open to this side as well. Best is to try one room first and find the best and most reasonable solution. Modern technology with maybe PVC window frames will certainly possible to overcome this difficulty which will certainly pay off very soon in the future. Good luck!

Exceptionally friendly staff, nice cooked breakfast, great location 3 minute walk to skytrain,5 min to ferry pier free shuttle ferry to the new shopping centre Iconsiam or take the 15 or 20 baht ferry to the Grand Palace Temples Khousan road etc. The bed was very comfortable with double windows keeping the outside road noise to a minimum, a bathroom extractor fan.would be good and like many hotels in Asia if you notice a smell....putting water in the bathroom floor drains daily usually fixes it

Friendly Staff and Nice Rooms”

The staff was excellent and very nice! They helped us with a couple of pointers of what to do and what to look out for around the area. The breakfast was nice and the rooms were very nice and tidy! The hotel is close to multiple forms of public transportation. I would stay here again!

Ideal Location ”

The hotel is centrally located.. close to BTS, River Shuttle , Shopping & Food Market. Free Delicious Hot Breakfast. Good Customer Service. The only negative is the rooms are adjacent to the main highway and it’s noisy.
