Modern Luxury hotel with big rooms. Great service by the Receiption team. Fantastic spread for breakfast... But refill was very slow... By 9 am...most dishes were empty. Look like short staff in kitchen....

An absolute treat to be a guest in this Hotel”
We thoroughly enjoyed 6 nights in Kandy and our choice of Hotel made our stay VERY special. The facilities, the ambiance, the quality of food, the friendly staff, and the views were SUPER. We also appreciated the Live Entertainment each evening. Being visitors from Australia we enjoyed seeing the Sri Lankan Weddings that were taking place in the Hotel. Our stay in this Hotel truly enhanced our Kandy stay, and we were treated as though we were special. (Which of course we are!) I need to mention that the gift shop in the foyer was really worth visiting as well. The towel animals on our bed are also worth mentioning.There were 4 of us in our group and we would all highly recommend this hotel to our friends.

Well-priced luxury”
After staying in a few tuly awful places at around the same price, the Golden Crown was a welcome surprise. It is a bit out of town but we did manage to walk it. It was built less than a year ago and has a fabulous infinity pool and adjacent restaurant where we had one of our best meals in Sri Lanka. Room was equally good. The only negative was the check in process which took about 20 mins. I think they were trying to make it seem a luxury experience by making us sit on lounges and drink unwanted juices. Management please note..you need to streamline check in...most people arriving have been on a long hot drive and just want to get into their rooms. Thanks though for a great stay.

This is a beautiful hotel. The pool and bedrooms are breathtaking. The staff went above and beyond, it is slightly out of town so we didn’t venture into kandy but used it as a stop over place between other destinations anyway. The only complaint was that there is no spa area, only massage and treatment rooms. And the bar is very small and therefore busy. Overall excellent value for money and a beautiful hotel

Very new 5* hotel slightly out of town”
This place is enormous and the building, room, pool, outside bar, inside bar, breakfast buffet and dinner buffet are excellent. It’s absurd they charge extra for a latte on top of the buffet price! My junior suite bathroom smelled strongly of sewage when I checked in. I suspect the room had not been occupied for a long time. Covering the toilet, bathroom floor, shower and bath drains with wet towels blocked the smell. The place is a bit out of town, too far for walking for most, but there are tuk tuk and drivers galore in Kandy. I’d stay again.

The hotel is not in Kandy. Traffic can be horrendous but a good base. Hotel has an Arabic rather than local atmosphere.

It’s a fairly new property and hence everything works. The art decor on the walls is good and the sky lounge is a pretty nice place to chill with some excellent views to soak in . The rooms are spacious and excellent for families with small kids. The staff is pretty helpful with a positive attitude. On the flip side, the property is about 1.5 km from the city center and a little bit out of the way. One thing the hotel should work on is to provide an improved room service menu as the options are very limited now. I would definitely recommend this property for families with young children and more senior people.

Like so many other large hotels, this one thrives on group parties and conferences with all of the attendant crowds and very loud noise. We had to change rooms because we could hear and feel the music and talking from the loud conference/party being held within the hotel itself. For $200 a night (cash only), this is unacceptable. You are better off staying in a $30 guesthouse and that's what we will do next time. Also, this hotel abuts a village where they burn their trash and loud stray dogs bark incessantly, which you will hear in your room very early in the morning. The city center is several kilometers away. It's definitely overpriced for Sri Lanka, too.

The food pool view and service were great the rooms were clean and spacious. Although the hotel is new the bathrooms are already starting to look a bit worn. There are no umbrellas by the pool and the rooms are not very sound proof so keep this in mind. Other than that an enjoyable stay

many of hotels in Sri lanka are rather run down but this hotel was new and clean. Room was also very spacious after upgrade. Loved view from restaurant and bar on the 2nd flr. Hoped we could get the discount from spa. Buffet was not bad with good variety.

Truly a five star hotel ”
Of all the five star hotels we tried in Sri Lanka, this was actually 5-star! The accommodations are clean, comfortable, new, and luxurious. The service was A+ and the food was excellent. If we have to find something to complain about the SPA felt a little makeshift. All in all we had three fantastic evenings at this hotel.

Relatively new hotel, but extremely good hotel. Big room, Big Washroom and Big Balcony with great view. Great Swimming Pool and excellent view of the restaurant. I hope that they don't lower down their customer service standards over time.

Beautiful facilities, underwhelming staff”
This is a beautiful hotel, however the set up of it is slightly confusing. The rooms are extremely spacious, the buffet was excellent. But the front staff and floor staff was slightly rude and not the greatest. The food staff was great however. I would recommend staying. The Gym facility was great as well!
