"A hotel that you want to stay longer."”
The three sisters wanted to visit their youngest brother who lives in Sokcho, so they took advantage of the holiday to go see him. They usually stay at their brother's place, but it seemed difficult to accommodate four people, so they decided to stay at a nearby hotel. Since it was only for one night, they searched for the cheapest hotel and ended up finding the Blue Terra. They didn't have high expectations since they were only planning to sleep there, but once they checked in, they realized it was the best value for their money. Firstly, the location was great and convenient for transportation. Secondly, the staff at the lobby were friendly and helpful. Thirdly, the room was clean and had all the necessary amenities. Fourthly, they felt comfortable and at ease. The only downside was that the elevator took a long time, which was a bit inconvenient, but they still wanted to stay a few more days. They definitely want to stay at the Blue Terra again when they visit Sokcho next time.

My husband and I made a last-minute reservation and stayed at this hotel after he finished riding from Gangneung. We had a great time. The elevator was not inconvenient as mentioned in some reviews, and the parking lot on the 6th floor was spacious even though we only parked on the 3rd floor. We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Ocean View room with two double beds. The small TV was placed on the wall near the bathroom, next to the bed by the window, which was uncomfortable to watch. It would have been better if the TV was mounted on the wall next to the vanity mirror across from the inner bed. There was some dust on the bedding, but we understood that it might be difficult to clean all the rooms during the off-season. Overall, the cleanliness was acceptable. The photos in the reviews showed that even though it was an ocean view, the sea was far away and there were many things in between. However, when lying on the bed, we could only see the sea. My husband, who came for a bike ride, especially liked that there was a terrace where he could store his bicycle. We were grateful to be able to make a reservation for less than 60,000 won for three people on weekdays. After taking a walk on Sokcho Beach, my daughter had a great time and felt safe.

Location walkable to the express bus terminal. Do take note that some buses go to the Intercity Terminal instead which is a 15 min taxi ride away. Front desk operates 24 hours and the room layout is spacious and comfortable. It feels like a studio apartment. It would be perfect if the washing machine in the room came with a dryer. It did not and we ended up not using it.
Officetel Converted to a Hotel”
I believe the building was originally built as an officetel and then it was converted to a hotel. Room —> Mixed feelings, but overall positive. The room was rather small, but was clean and properly furnished. It has a balcony which offered fantastic views of the beach. There is also a table with two small chairs in the room, which I suppose could be brought out to the balcony if you want to enjoy the night view while having some wine and snacks. The room came with a washing machine, a very large refrigerator, an induction cooker that didn’t work and lots of storage space, which were probably included since the space was built as an officetel. The toilet was rather small, especially the shower area. Bed was on the softer side, and the two pillows given were of different types. Facilities —> Poor. Lifts were inadequate for the number of guests and wait time was pretty long. There was an infinity pool in the hotel, but a separate charge of 30,000 KRW is required to access it so I didn’t use it. Plus point, there is a convenience store below the hotel. Location —> Very good. It was one stop away from the express bus terminal or about 10-15 minutes walk. It was not as close to the beach as the picture showed and the cover picture is somewhat a deception. It took about 10-15 minutes to walk to the beach. There is a nice brunch place (“Redavo”) just 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Outside the hotel, there is a bus stop where the major buses stop at, and one of them brings you to Seoraksan.
Very good value for money hotel”
We stayed here for 2 nights (primarily so we could visit Seoraksan national park). The hotel is perfectly located to catch public transport to the national park (just across the road). The hotel was great value for money and had everything we needed. The room was as reflected in the photos online and everything was very clean. The only downside is that the room wasn't serviced (or the towels changed). Other than this everything was great. It was a plus to have a convenience store on site.
