Great Japanese Onsen Hotel”
Facilities are well maintained, there are English signs and instructions which make it easy to understand. The room is well equipped with facilities more than I needed. Foods are greatly delicious and high quality. The hotel has shuttle bus to station.

A terrific ryokan”
The staff at the ryokan were helpful and friendly. Especially the onsen lady. It is probably one of the most spacious onsens I've been to. The water was nice and at a perfect temperature. I'd recommend staying here for sure.

Poor service at reception”
Staff at reception was really rude and said that they do not speak a word of English and requested that we only speak Japanese to them. The tone and facial expression was also extremely rude, for Japanese standards.

The hotel is so far from train station, the room is so small, special the bathroom. It’s hard to stay inside the hotel but you cannot book dinner of the hotel. And staff cannot speak English

fresh mountain air ”
as soon as you exit the station at Tendo you can smell the fresh mountain air. This hotel was fantastic and I would definitely stay again, in fact I would go out of my way to go back to Japan to stay here longer and see more of the sights. The hotel staff are wonderful and they go out of their way to impress and help. There is a very good shuttle service to Tendo station so that you can go to different places like Yamadera etc amazing . you will love it . don't hesitate

Overnight stay in Tendo”
The place is beautiful and our room was both large and comfortable. The onsen is huge and lovely. Service is tops, from free train station transfers to handing us umbrellas for the rainy evening and storing our luggage while we toured Yamadera after we checked out. I wanted to do a special call out to Miki, their English-speaking staff member, who helped us get hold of a guide to Yamadera and recommended an awesome restaurant we could go to for dinner. Because it was raining that evening she even went out of her way to drive us to the restaurant. That was really incredible service. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody traveling to Tendo.

Super warm welcoming hotel! Their service is super nice. Even they cannot speak good English, but they will try to help you as much as they can. I have them arranged an early taxi to train station, a morning call, making good bed. And the hot spring bath is very good. Facility is not new but very clean.

Ok hotel/no time to enjoy”
Was in town for meetings so didn't have time to really enjoy the place. But room was ok for me though a bit cold without any heater. The blanket did keep me warm however. Nice environment. No late checkout and no lunch in hotel.

Great hotel way out there”
Tendo isn’t really a hub for things to do (I was there to see Yamadera), but the hotel is really nice and the staff were very understanding. My Japanese is extremely limited, but a few staff members could speak English and the others would use translator apps with me. The onsen was nice too and the food was very good.

天童温泉は3回目！ あるネット配信内で滝の湯さんの紹介を拝見し、気に入って２泊始めて利用させていただきました。 到着の際の笑顔での出迎え、フロントスタッフの方々の手早く愛想の良い対応をいただき、車での長旅の疲れも取れました。 部屋まで移動の際、素晴らしい中庭を拝見 部屋に入るなりその中庭が出窓より眼下に見られ素晴らしい景観に満足、より一層疲れが取れました。 大浴場も思っていた以上に広く、湯温も丁度！ 新型コロナウィルス感染予防として露天風呂は残念ながら閉鎖され利用できませんでしたが、満足できました。 部屋にも大きな湯船がありこれも利用させていただきました。 夕食は外食予定をしていたことから今回は残念ながら頂くことはできませんでしたが、朝食は地場の食材、料理でとても美味しく頂けました。 女将さんからの親しみを感じるお声掛けも頂き、妻も何回もお邪魔している様に接して頂けた！と、とても気持ちが良かったと喜んでいました。 チエックアウトの際もスタッフの方に駐車場までバックを持っていっていただき、道中気作に話もしていただき、本当に滝の湯さんへの親しみと、さすがハイクラスと言われる旅館なんだ！ とつくづく感じ受けました。 ２日間心から安らぐことができました。 ありがとうございました。 また山形に来る時は、是非利用させて頂きたいと思っております。 その際は今回来れなかった7歳の孫娘も連れて来れればな！ と思っております。 お世話になりました。
