Good location and staff friendly”
Takatama Hotel easy to locate just opposite Tainan railway station. The hotel is at 3 floors. Staff very helpful . Big room , room wifi receiving good, Breakfast so so, Public bus just outside Hotel.

Great location and very clean and spacious room”
though only a 3-star old hotel, takatama hotel is in fact elegantly designed with very clean and spacious rooms, and friendly and helpful staff. the breakfast is also very delicious though the choice is limited. i totally enjoyed my stay in the hotel and would highly recommend it to any budget traveller who does not care for hotel facilities such as swimming pools and gymnasiums. it's a pity that this hotel, which i think was a grand hotel in the past, has lost its glamour and is now overlooked by many travellers who are not aware of its high value for money.

great location, next to train station ”
this is a gem beside train station unseen. the hotel is situated on the 3rd or 4th floor in a old looking commercial building. although the building looks old and dirty but the hotel inside it is just the opposite. it is near the shopping area and Tainan is the best shopping area in the whole of Taiwan seriously. train station is just a stone throw away. the room is comfortable and spacious with the price of a budget hotel! definitely go back again!

excellent budget hotel”
From the outside, the huge building doesn't look attractive at all but I was quite impressed when inside the hotel itself which just occupies a single floor area. For a budget hotel, it gives value for money. The breakfast gave plenty of choices not just the traditional Chinese breakfast menu. I was expecting a very small room but space seems quite adequate for the average traveller. And I had to catch the train leaving at 7.50 am so the location gave me enough time to take the breakfast before rushing of to the train station just a short walking distance away. And the bus stop is also just outside the hotel. Hope to stay again the next time I am in Tainan

Good hotel near downtown train station”
About a 2-minute walk from Tainan Train Station (not HSR station), you can see the hotel name from the front of the station. Enter the building to the left of the 7-11, go to the left bank of elevators, the hotel is on the 3rd floor (3F). Friendly staff, with enough English to get critical information across. Check in is at 3, we arrived at 2 and was shown to our room. Our room was on the 3rd floor, 330 with a view of the building next door and Post building. Older clean room, TV with some English channels, free fast wi-fi, AC, small fridge, 2 double beds, large firm pillows (1 each) phone, tissue paper, 3 night stands, tea/carafe, shower, towels, toothbrushes, hair dryer, hand soap, body wash, shampoo sachets. There is a cold & hot water dispenser on the floor. Breakfast is included with the room price and is an Asian one which we enjoyed. It did include fried eggs and bread to make toast plus peanut butter & jam. There are some restaurants in the area but you need to look around. There are two 7-11’s around so no problem finding snacks and beverages. Many buses stop out front so there are public transport options available. Overall, good hotel with very helpful attentive front desk, nice room and would stay here again.

Good Location”
This hotel is conveniently located just next to the Tainan train station (which is separate from the Tainan Highspeed rail station). Check in was prompt and service was polite. The rooms were a little dated, but really comfortable and big. Also, there was free breakfast, and the choices are rather local in nature, consisting of rice, porridge and other vegetables and meat. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient stay while visiting the city of Tainan.

Perfect for transit and longer stay too”
We stayed only 1 night in Tainan as a transit station. The hotel was perfect for this, as it is in front of train station (TRA). I recommend this hotel also ff you stay more days in Tainan (suggested). It was one of the biggest (budget) and cleanest room in Taiwan with good breakfast and very nice staff.

Clean room, good location just in front of Tainan station. Outside building is a bit old but the room is clean and the environment in the hotel is good. Location of the hotel is also good as it is just in front of Tainan main station, make it convenient if you arrive by train.

Low budget accommodation with very good location”
The building where Takatama Hotel is located hosts many companies that offer budget accommodations. Although the word "hotel" is used, the property only manages one floor of the old and seemingly looks ran-down building (the whole 3rd floor) to be exact. So, please do not expect a similar environment as what can be found in most hotels. The owner is very hands-on in the management of the operations. Staff very friendly with limited English. Cleaning services available upon instruction as you leave the room for the day to go around. Breakfast is very modest. Airconditioning is also very acceptable but unable to control in your room as this is centralized. Toilet amenities are very basic and would suffice your needs for bath and other necessities. Please lower your expectations. You get what you pay for. :-)

Location of hotel is very convenient, 5 minutes walk to Tainan train station where you can take the train to Tainan HSR. Hotel is on the 3rd floor of an old building, there is no signage to guide you within the building, only when you take the lift to 3rd floor then you see the hotel. Hotel is old but toilet and room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is simple local food.

Good location, staffs are friendly, delicious breakfast”
Location wise it's near tainan railway station walk towards traffic light and cross and you will see the hotel name. Its at level 3. The cleanliness is satisfactory as we saw baby cockroaches crawling around in the room. The hotel uses fan not sure if there's aircon or maybe abit of it? Hotel is acceptable size we can open 2 luggage at the same time. The breakfast is simple Taiwanese breakfast with bee hoon, egg, vegetables, porridge, soyamilk, but it's delicious, we even have 2nd helping. The staff is very professional and help us with our destination. The only con is the hotel cleanliness. Overall it's a good hotel to stay for one night.

Best location ever”
Seriously, just stay near the train stations when you go town hopping in Taiwan. The hotel is 1 minute from the main entrance of the Tainan Train Station. We booked a family room for 4. The room was facing the train station, and the room was huge for 4 person. In fact, it really could fit 6 if we want to. It comes with breakfast but the breakfast was only moderate. You would have to take a cab to the places of interest. I would suggest An Ping area (where there are many historical monuments and a small market which closes early, around 5pm) and Hua Yuan Night Market which opens only on specific days of the week.

1 night stay”
Hotel is okay for a one night stay. Directly across Tainan TRA but in between is a big round about. It was raining when we arrived so had to take the underpass, do note that they are all stairs. If is not raining you can just attempt to cross the road (w/o pedastrain crossing) but quite dangerous. Building is very old, as it was raining, level 1 lift lobby was wet as water leaking from roof. Hotel located on the third floor. Room size is a good size for 2 pax. Can open 2 big luggages at the same time. Toilet is clean. Breakfast has a good spread, taste is okay, taiwanese breakfast. There is a water dispenser along the corridor. Would recommend for a one night stop over.

Takatama: a good enough hotel”
It was a pleasant enough stay at this good enough hotel. The room decor was dated and clearly had seen better days. However, the rooms were quite clean and comfortable enough. The breakfast was not bad: mainly taiwanese porridge with a few local dishes and fruits - definitely adequate. I was actually quite impressed with the service staff at the reception - unfailingly warm, polite and helpful. Last but not least, the location was important - very close to Tainan main train station, also bus stop located right in front of hotel where one can take buses to places like the famous flower garden night market. Overall, a good enough hotel.

Tasty breakfast, centrally located”
Takatama is not much to look at from the outside, and the entrance is behind another hotel. But once inside, it is newly renovated, clean and breakfast was very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the twin beds were extra firm!!! Only a few minutes walk to the train station.

Great location”
The hotel is situated near to the train station and main bus station in which both ways will linked you to the tainan hsr. Travelling to anping district and other places of interests is also very convenient as the bus stop is just located near downstair. Kang shi mei a similar type of watson shop and shopping area is also located not far away. Highly recommended for its location on a day or two night days as the outlook of the hotel maynot be as pleasing as those hotels in other cities area of taiwan but the room was rather very spacious.

Outlook is old and bad but inside is good”
This hotel if judge from the outlook is like a ghost building, but when arrived at the room, actually was quite ok. The location is very convenience, just opposite the tainan train station.
