The guest house is beautiful. Location is not close to the train station but Tai and his father willingly sent us to where we wanted to go. Recommended to stay in the guest house if you have chance, wonderful place and wonderful guest house family.

Outstanding service and exceptional breakfast provided”
The guesthouse is a little bit out of the way but a transfer service was provided whenever it was needed. This is a family business and it is run by the most hospitable people who made us feel very comfortable in all ways possible. Tai, the son of the couple who run the guesthouse, speaks very good English and was always prepared to offer good suggestions and drive us into town whenever we wanted to go. We could also call him from wherever we were and he would come and collect us. This attention to service and detail made all the difference to our stay in Takayama. Tai's mother makes the most wonderful Japanese breakfast imaginable, with small dishes of all sorts of interesting flavours served immaculately. The position of the guesthouse wasn't perfect but the hospitality provided more than made up for this. The accommodation was in an old barn that had been reconfigured as a guesthouse. We slept on futons on tatami mats and had an adjoining room as our own private sitting room.

This is the most stylish guest house I have ever seen. You may want to spend the whole morning with a cup of coffee and book in the garden. Great hospitality ! Can't wait to plan another visit in winter time for great view of mountains from the house.

If you like peaceful and tranquil place, this is a PERFECT place !!! Really nice Only 3 rooms in this property, but that is perfect if you are looking for a home like place. Very friendly family that runs this place. Good service and good Japanese breakfast. They will pick you up and drive you to the center, so no worries about getting there and to the city center. Loved this place.

Wonderful stay with full of joy and service from the heart”
Far exceeded my expectation, it was a fantastic stay in this family-liked guesthouse. The architecture is over 150 years old but you couldn't guess. The owner, Tai is so passionate and we received a great hospitality. Although we arrived in late night but Tai also drove us to the local restaurant for dinner and pick us up after. Tai speaks very good English and we had a great chat and learned about the local culture from him. It's one of my best stays in Japan! Highly recommended:)
