Great Hotel”
Sofu is really nice and tucked away down an interesting side street. There are some quite good restaurants close by and easy access to the underground. The staff are pleasant and they were reliable.

Very good service and will come again”
The staff were super kind and helpful. The toilet was clogged on the first day but the housekeeper helped to solve the issue promptly. She even left a spare toilet roll for me when she noticed the current one had almost been used up. A lovely luggage tag was given as a gift when check out. I will choose this hotel again. The air cons were not quite adjustable despite having two air con control panels, but a fan had been prepared for you to improve the ventilation or you could choose to open the window. The WiFi was poor though, no connection. The tap water was quite dirty on the first day, could see many suspended solids in water but the condition was improved after keeping the water running for several minutes. Overall, I enjoy spending my time in this hotel.

Good Value and location”
Great location right in the middle of a hutong but with a Didi stop right in front of the hotel. Front desk was helpful with questions. The room was neat and clean and comfortable. Slept well, no issues with noise. We were there 2 nights. Did not use the restaurant. All in all a good deal .

Great 'local' spot”
Friendly staff who speak English enough to answer your questions or help you with taxi's , queries etc. HUGE rooms with plenty of space to swing a cat. On the boundary of a Hatong, so real feeling of being in the neighbourhood, whilst being only a couple of minutes walk from Ping'anli metro station (servicing 2 metro lines). Plenty of restaurants around and starbucks and another coffee shop on the Ground floor of the hotel building. Would definitely stay here again.

An easy living hotel”
The Sofu Hotel is located in a tourist area full of restaurants and small shops. You don’t have to go very far to get all you need. It is very close to the subway station which can access to nearly all major attractions. The room is cozy and clean. Front desk staff are helpful. We also get free bike rental from the hotel which really helped us to travel to all the nearby attractions.

Bathroom layout is weird, room is old but clean. Carpet smell and not worth for the price. But hotel staff and cleaner friendly and helpful.

Covenient location”
It is very covenient to walk to good restaurants (even well known eateries that make you queue for 2hrs plus). Metro is nearby too. Room is small, but cosy for couples. Toilet is big. Only con is lack of cupboard to hang clothes, so have to be creative in hanging them by the door. Would recommend staying here if you want to explore the night activities nearby (night market, lakes).

A good place to explore Peking, just next to a Subway Station”
We had a double room. on the 3th floor. Unfortunately it was a dark room, with a window towards a wall from the next building. for one night or two night would be o.K., but for five nights it was really a dark room. There were some families staying in rooms just next to us, and the sound came easily trough the walls. The westerly breakfast is not really to recommend. Some staff were friendly, some spoke a bit english and some are just there, without emotions or friendliness . In the road are many restaurants. A good one was the Chinese Hot pot with Grill, just around 80 Meter towards the MTR. just 5 Meter further, you get a good and cheap !! draft of Beer. David is the owner and speaks english. Do not miss this Place. There also you get some food.

Quality Boutique Hotel”
The hotel is conveniently located near a subway station. The streets surrounding it is peppered with various eateries, snack house, 24/7 restaurants, and other food stalls. You will never end up hungry. Just bear with the scent emitted by a nearby stall (I think it sells stinky tofu, hence the repulsive smell) when walking towards the hotel. They provide free welcome drinks upon arrival. Options were brewed coffee, or hot tea. As to the room itself, it is spacious. Ours was located at the 4th floor. However, I think the hotel has thin walls, the room next to ours complained that our television was too loud (volume was at 25 only). The bed was huge, and they did invest with high quality linens. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Centrally located boutique hotel in historic section.”
Friendly hotel staff, they were quite helpful. Varying degrees of English, but translator apps work! Many different rooms. Ours had a mini fridge, seating area and queen sized bed. Modern spacious bathroom with rain shower. View of street, but not noisy. Plenty to see and door right nearby. Nice courtyard out front. Great bakery on the corner to the right. Subway very close. Starbucks next door but they are not open early! Breakfast at hotel eh, not so exciting.

Close to the subway in crazy street”
Sofu is located in a chaotic street. Actually it's just an alley without road markings but there's scooters and bikes everywhere and they're driving like crazy! But nevermind, it was fun! Metro station "Ping'An Li" is within 5 mins walking distance and is well located in the metro net. Staff's English wasn't too good but we made it. Also it was possible to have a tour to the Great Wall (tour was great!!! And inexpensive also) and tickets for the forbidden city (which you def. should buy in advance) booked by the reception. Although bed was very hard for a western taste we slept well. Eoom was full when both our suitcases were open but that's Chinese hotels I guess. Bathroom was okay. Lots of accessories were provided like toothbrush & -paste, different towels, hairdryer, ... Overall our stay was okay!

A place for budget travellers”
Hotels in Beijing are known to be expensive and Sofu is considered one where you can still pay $100 per pax and less per night depending on the period you are travelling. The cleanliness of the hotel needs major improvement as there were hair in the toilet and smell from the carpet. The showering area and the toilet bowl were also chocked although the housekeeping managed to clear it upon our request. Kudos to the reception especially the morning shift who were very friendly and answered to most of our queries and also offered to change our room due to the carpet smell. The hotel is also a 5 min walk to Pinganli station (line 4) which is a direct line to Beijing south railway station. There are along many eateries along the street where the hotel is situated where you can grab breakfast/lunch/dinner. Overall, it is a good stay but not for travellers who are particular on the cleanliness of a hotel room.

HOT ROOM! COULDN'T SLEEP”
My room was 26 degrees Celsius (that's 78 F) ... so hot I couldn't sleep. Hotel clerk seemed unconcerned when I requested heat be turned off. Next day he promised me a 1 night refund ... still haven't received it.

Above average”
good points: comfortable mattresses, big space, good location, near the train station and basic toiletries and appliances provided bad points: very unfriendly and impatient staffs, old furniture, air condition doesn't get cold enough and toilet tiles have gout & mildews
