Find hotels near Seoraksan in Sokcho-si, South Korea

Good location if you are visiting Seoraksan. One night is not enough as you won't have enough time to finish viewing the mountains. Though there are other resorts nearer but we find comfort vs Value vs location, this hotel is best. They have Korean Restaurant and Western restaurant that serves great pizzas. As for price, it's not pricy for Korean standard of living. We spent about 50k won for 2 pizzas and a hot chocolate. Every room comes with full amenities. We walked for about 10 mins to entrance of Seoraksan National Park. Cost per room night is also quite reasonable.

This hotel was a great choice. It is a bit out of town but close to several attractions. Hotel is a bit outdated and bathroom could have been cleaner. We stayed in the deluxe room and it was perfect for our family. Very roomy with dining room table, small kitchenette, couch, tv and separate bedroom. I was disappointed that the pool cost so much, it was around $30 for 1 adult, 1 child and 2, 3 year olds. We only went once because of the price but the kids had a lot of fun. For those going for pokemon go, there is a pokespot right in the middle of the courtyard and we could play from our room.

Had a surprisingly pleasant and very comfortable stay in ritzcal. Location: hotel is 10-15 min bus ride from sokcho town/intercity bus terminal. Bus 3 and 3-1 takes you to the hotel from the terminal. On arrival from dong Seoul station at sokcho terminal (16,200 won), approach the tourist info counter for directions to the bus stop for bus 3 and 3-1 (1,100 won). Ritzcal hotel is located on the tourist map hence it is very convenient too for taxi drivers to locate the hotel. Just be sure to get a Korean Lang map too. Hotel is slightly away from town but there are no issues as we found that there isn't much to do in town anyway. There are no eateries near hotel. You can grab dinner in town and taxi ride is approx 4,500 won. Alternatively, Bus ride is 1,100 won for all rides in the local bus. To get to seoraksan, you may hop into a cab or take a bus 7 or 7-1 from town. We took the 9.25am bus no 3 to town for quick breakfast and hop on the bus 7 to seoraksan. Very convenient. Tip: be sure to snap a picture of the bus timetable at the hotel bus stop for planning's sake. Hotel is also located just 10 min walk from cheoksan hotspring resort, which is a blessing after a day of hiking. You get 2000 won discount off 7,000 won entrance fee. Be sure to get a discount voucher from ritzcal receptionist. It is an eye opening experience at a Korean spa and we enjoyed it so much, we were there Both nights. Room: amazing comfortable clean room with roomy toilet, bath tub, flat screen tv and very comfy beds. Service: service with a smile from the receptionists. Overall will definitely return to this hotel because of the rooms and location. Will not advise to stay in sokcho town (usually we prefer to do so) as there isn't much to do or shop or see in town. Ritzcal location near the mountains (visible from the hotel) and its quality rooms make our visit to seoraksan a complete experience. .

We booked a dormitory room of 4 person for 1 night. On the day we arrived, the hotel was really ready for our coming. We didn't take too much time for the check-in process. The clean and pretty dormitory room was prepared for us. At the lobby, a traditional heater is working and it's really cool! (not cool for cold!) i've never seen it before. A nice sofa, beautiful piano, a free coffee machine can be used. A hotel reception&manager, has a very good English communications and he is be able to answer every questions from us since this's our first visit Korea and ofcause Seoraksan. He helped us recommend a place to go such as Seoraksan National Park near the resort and the hot-spring where's not very far to go, etc. Also, he helped us calling taxi and provided us a great discount for the Water-Park from his friend. Jin-Sun & Jin-Dul are very friendly to us. We love them and they love us Finally, I'm sure that I'll be here "GoodStay Smile Resort" again, and for more days than this time.

The location is really good. It was nice to watch the Sunrise over the mountains from the balcony. It was really quiet and the bed was really comfortable. It is, however is an area with several abandoned properties and that gives the place a spooky vibe. Also, the check in is at the Hotel across the street - not necessarily a bad thing, but there is no one manning the front desk at night. I think we may have been one of three rooms booked here on a Saturday night. We came to see the leaves and get some fresh air outside of Seoul, but the property is run down... I've never been to other places there, but it feels as though they are getting ready to tear down all the properties and build something else. $50 bucks may have been a bit too much... If I paid half that I would have felt much better

Although this place is not at the central area of Sokcho, the rooms are well-equipped and the washrooms are good! Highly recommend to those who are driving(: We didn't drive during the trip and the owner kindly offered to fetch us to the entrance of Seoraksan National Park at 6.30AM in the morning! Really grateful for that as we get to hike up Ulsanbawi without the crowd:D

My friend and I decided to go this weekend, Oct 19-21. It was peak season for Tanpeung, leaves changing color. Thousands and thousands of visitors, mostly domestic, flooded Seoraksan National Park. We did everything on our list that we wanted to do, plus the Cheoksan Public Bath on the first night. The stay at Hyundai Soo Condominiums was good. It satisfied our needs for a place to sleep. My friend had her own room and I had mine. We were pleased to have a few utensils and cutting board to cut the fruits for our hike at Seoraksan National Park on Saturday and Sunday mornings. There were also a few things we needed and were able to find at the store in the lobby. The beds were comfortable. The TV was also good to have and generally the room was amenable. When we first arrived, we were a little confused because the hotel booking was for Hyundai Soo Resort, but the building signage says Hyundai Soo Condominiums. We went in search of the resort and concluded it was indeed the first building we saw. The door is not a card key but an original door key with a hanger for the lights. On Saturday morning, we wanted to go out and watch the sunrise at the Sunrise lookout place recommended. But on our way out, we saw a family watching the sunrise from the common area, and decided to join them. It was beautiful to watch and perfect for us not to spend more time going out to the sunrise point and driving back to the national park. The proximity of the hotel to Seoraksan National Park is quite good. I would say it was very convenient, in the mid-point between the park and the other sites and places to see in Sokcho. We explored the Abai Village and took the Gaetbae Boat across and back. Also, we found a good restaurant where we ate dinner both nights, 신다신. The 가리국밥 and 오징어순대 were worth it for sure. The location would be difficult to find by yourself if you are unable to speak Korean, hence it would be better to get a taxi to the hotel first. The hotel does not provide Sokcho tourist map in English. However, just walk 5-10min up to Hotel Seorak Park and get a copy of English tourist map. The location is only less than half an hour walk to the Mt Seoraksan, and accessible to the central of Sokcho by 2 buses.

I reached late in the night for check-in and they were prompt and efficient and brought me to the room immediately. Clean and spacious room. Great location. Just walk out a little and you will see the bus stpp where you can board the bus 7 or 7-1 to seoraksan. Left my luggage there for a day as i hiked up the peak and stayed in the shelter for a night. The owners took care of it welll. Nice friendly staff.Would not hesitate to stay again.

It was good. The daughter said she would get me a taxi in the morning but that didn't happen. Luckily the bus was late and I took it to town and found a taxi after I got off the mountain. I made my bus. Room was dated but fairly clean. Some corners were dusty. The ceiling looks like it's peeling off. For a last minute booking on a holiday weekend, this was satisfactory.

Overall we had a very nice stay at GraceHeim. It is not a hotel, rather a pension or large house with many big private rooms. The owner and his family live on the first floor and he spoke English very well to help us out. There is not much around the pension - so best if you bring in all your own food. I did a Costco run in Seoul and bought a ton of stuff for grilling, and our balcony had a Weber grill. For 20,000 KRW the owner got a charcoal fire going for us each night and we grilled and enjoyed the beautiful view of Seoraksan Mountain from the deck. Or tried to...(see below). On the first floor their is a big pool table and a chess board and a microwave so you can really just camp at the pension and enjoy. There are a couple of beat up bikes out front too - my daughter and I jumped on the bike built for two and tooled around a bit. The only problem, which is no fault of the hotel, is that the wind picked up right after we started the grill. The temperature dropped like 25 degrees and for the next two days we had gale force winds whipping around us. The first night around 4AM the wind ripped part of the roof off and despite the owner's best efforts to fix it, it slammed up and down waking up the whole hotel. Unfortunately the cable car and Seorak was closed due to the wind as well. The other thing is that we went on a Korean holiday weekend and there were a bunch of other groups staying there - with like 20 people in a room. They were having a good time for sure - but my parents who are in their 60s - weren't really happy about all the noise. Gotta take it all in stride - overall a really good stay.

I checked in really late around 9+ pm. When I arrived, the receptionist was waiting for me (we were communicating here) but he was all smiles. They also upgraded me to a solo room (I booked one bed in the 6-bed dormitory). Probably bec it was too late already to disturb the people inside? But anyway, they were very welcoming. Breakfast was also good. And the place is just two bus stop away (I think around 2km) from Seoraksan Park. I think you can also walk going there if you want a warm up for the hikes in Seoraksan. Will def stay here again once I go back.

Relatively clean, although trash bin hadn't been emptied from previous guest. Bed was clean, and the room was clean overall. The building itself is a bit old, and needs some TLC. Owner does not speak any English, a little Korean will go a long way. Good location, about 10 minutes away by bus no 7 or 7-1. Would probably take 45 mins to walk to Seoraksan Park. Sokcho beach and city are about 20-40 minutes away by bus, so is the bus terminal (of which there are 2).

This is the worst hotel i've ever been to. Requested for non-smoking but they provided me with a room with the worst ever smoking smell. When we asked for the non-smoking area, they said it is the non-smoking. The hotel is really creepy and it is totally just a love hotel. The service is also so bad and usually i'm not that picky about cleanliness but this hotel is just to its worst level. Never ever book this hotel. Never. I moved to another hotel as soon as i experienced this. Really worst experience ever in sokcho.

The hotel was very clean, modern, good service. Location is very close to the entrance of Seoraksan. We chose the bedroom with the big 2 person bathtub and it was great for a couple. The rain shower head was luxurious as well. The spa/jimjibang at the hotel was absolutely well done with many different heated rooms that you can enjoy with your partner (they give you a shirt and shorts). The different temperature baths (gender separated) were large and many had jacuzzi jets to relax your muscles. If you stay at the hotel, you get discounted prices. There were 2 odd things I’m mentioning to manage expectations (reason for the 4 vs 5 stars for facilities; it’s really 4.5.) but they were not impediments. The toilet area, enclosed in frosted glass walls with a mini blind for privacy, could have had better quality mini blinds to prevent seeing into it from a certain angle. Also the air conditioner wasn’t allowed to be turned on in Oct so we opened the window and got cool mountain air:better:)
