Tried The Chao for the first time... great location (though weird entrance) in happening Sanlitun, really well appointed rooms with free mini bar (non-alchohol), good amenities (unexpected: a yoga mat in closet and condoms in addition to the usual toothbrush/shaving kit etc), well equipped 24 hour gym, great breakfast, excellent restaurant for lunch and dinner -- both chinese and western food superior -- and extremely bi-lingual staff. i'll be back.

10 min drive to Sanlitun, embassies and all the fun stuff you are in Beijing for. Spacious handy rooms for a decent price. Breakfast half buffet half a la carte for $15 is a bargain and was very fresh and delicious. The bar and patio are very nice but not enough staff, so we had to wait for 40+ minutes for our drinks and it closes at midnight, so no late parties here. Didn’t check the gym but it exists. Cool boutique hotel, great for families.

Hotel Eclat Beijing is a wonderful option for anyone living in Beijing or traveling to Beijing. It is located in a shopping mall which makes it all the best as you just walk through the lobby and then you can enjoy restaurants and great stores around you. The facilities are wonderful, especially the massage chair in your room. The staff were friendly and helpful, some staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly but we felt during our booking in that they could have offered a welcome drink as stated in the booking, which they didn't. All in all, it was still a 5-star experience!

The Holiday Inn Express Beijing Dongzhimen is the best hotel option for you while in the Embassy area. It is a great location with lots of restaurants around, a convenience store, and very walkable pedestrian lanes. The check in and check out was quick with friendly and English-speaking front desk staff/. The room is clean, the bed and pillows are super comfortable and the hot shower was great! They have wifi which works well. The free breakfast was okay. Overall, a really great hotel for you to try.

Enjoyed the great hospitality and the beauty of this hotel. However, don't like the controlled access of the properties where guard will lock up the gate and require verification of identify upon access (though a quick and polite one). Location is also not near any subway station, a good 2km walk to the nearest Dongzhimen station. On the other hand, I must compliment the good service of the staff.

Discovered a pearl - Asia Hotel is great - very accommodating to a Westerner. Real joy to stay there, and it was 3C at night this week and loved the down comforter in the room. I even try to see where that was made as I liked it so much. Was on an overnight trip to the Embassy area, so had a room service deliver food, good quality - good internet connection. Breakfast was also a surprise catering to both Asian, Chinese and Western palates. I had a healthy breakfast and coffee that left a great feeling when i checked out. Highly to recommend.

Sanlitun Xin Xiang Ya Yuan apartment is a great place and worth the value of money and I highly recommend to stay at this place. This place is in a central location and the rooms are clean and the service is good. Moreover, the staffs at the reception were very helpful and wee truly kind and their service was fantastic. They helped us a lot and they were very warm, kind and welcoming to us. I recommend this place to everyone.

stayed here for about 2 weeks and found the staff very helpful and always had someone at front desk who spoke english. breakfast was exceptionally good and very willing to cook eggs any style you wish. very friendly staff in the restaurant at breakfast. hotel location is a 5 minute walk to sanlitun village, a high end new area full of shops, bars and restaurants. a great location for a tourist. room was large and well equipped. they should scrub the grout on the bathroom floor but the room was always clean and everything worked well. i highly recommend the hotel; a great value with agoda pricing.

We were impressed of this apartment, spacious, clean and quiet, it answers our needs very well. The apartment is near Chaoyangmeng station (2nd round), less than 5 minutes walking from the entry of subway. It is close to embassy area, there are plenty of malls, cafes, restaurants etc around. The apartment provides daily room cleaning, we stayed there for 4 nights and very happy of the services provided. Highly recommend !

The little studio unit has all the facilities a solo traveler like me needed. Has a little kitchen and microwave to do minimal cooking. Plates and utensils are also provided. It has a washing machine for longer stay guest. It’s located about 15mins walk to Sanlitun and the subway. There is plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff will do his very best to attend to your every need. Will definitely come back to stay on my next visit.

This was our first hotel of three for our 2 week stay, pre-conference. We loved the relaxed location (not alot of hustle-bustle) and the magnificent breakfasts (my boyfriend is convinced that this inclusive breakfast lasted us the whole day!) The absolutely best thing was the staff - very few spoke English and even those few spoke only limited English. But they bent over backwards to get us what we wanted and were able to breach the communication gap. Great time in the city and next time we would come right back here to the River View. Absolute best value for the money and amazing local neighborhoods to explore (including some expat areas which are an education in themselves).

This hotel is in the embassy and near Sanlitun Area, and it has a good price. The room I had was like Korean restaurant, where you sit on th floor - I don't know if all rooms are like this. No bed, no chair, no table, better: low table. For me no problem, it was ok. Some people may not handle this. Just need to know before. I was there in winter, it was very very warm. Clean. Friendly staff. No breakfast, but you can have this 150m down the street in Holiday Inn for 38 RMB, or elsewhere. I will go there again, if I am in this area.

I arrived late and found that my room had been double booked. Not a problem though as they upgraded me for free. The staff were helpful in answering my questions and at giving basic directions. They also had quite a good level of english. The room itself was clean and well furnished. The beds were quite firm but probably softer than a lot of others in china. PS. I got this hotel at a discount price on agoda which is why the value for money rating is 5/5. Also the rating for the food is only 3/5 as I did not eat at the hotel, although the restaurant menus looked very nice.

I stayed with my husband for 3 nights in this beautiful hotel. The hotel looks great and modern with many art pieces in the lobby. The check in went quite smooth but you have to be a bit patient. The rooms are just amazing and look exactly like the pics on their website! The many wood elements give it a very pieceful appearance. The shower and bath with the very nice smelling amenities are really good! The complimentary mini bar is well stocked and you can ask for eg. additional water if you require it (don't call room service for this as you will be charged in that case, but press the "how can i help" button on the phone.) The hotel has some nice quirky touches like given you some nice post cards for you to send home with a postit on it with a funny text. We also received facial masks with again a quirky postit, which was actually very useful to get the dirt of beijing of your skin and came at the right just as I was filling up a nice hot bath. The majority of the staff speaks English quite well with the exception of the cleaners. We had one funny situation with one of the guys at the door who was directing us somewhere and while pointing to the right told us to go left. Obviously we followed his body language and made it to our goal. The area of the hotel is really modern with great shopping venues (both international and more local brands) and nice bars and restaurants. Avoid the bars on Sanlitun road as they looked like proper tourist traps. The bars/restaurants in the shopping area are much more upscale and good. For a good Japanese try Hatsune: very nice! The Mediterranean restaurant downstairs in the hotel is pretty good although a bit pricey. To summarize: The hotel is in a great location to visit all the major sights in Beijing and when you come back you can truly relax in your room! Definitely value for money!

I had a family visit, being a Chinese by birth, but with a US passport. This is a decent place. However, a few improvement could be used, the room have one nightstand, seems it could use two on both sides of the bed. The washer and dryer, the washer works, the dryer doesn't seem to work. The staff was not as courteous as I expected when I was calling about the dryer, they just said you can hang it outside with the rack. Being dry weather during winter, this maybe okay. But not convenient especially during summer. It's probably a maintenance issue, or lack of. The price is decent, but with the government taxes and extra charge, it being higher than advertised for the total. The cleaning ladies did good job each time I asked for cleaning. But the phone call lady was not as courteous or helpful as I was expecting. The bathroom just have a shower floor, not a shower base as I was used to in the US, but I could live with it. The shower head is a clip on but is not very sturdy, works though

Fast check-in and check-out as booked through Agoda. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. cleaned on a daily base. Very light as there are a lot of windows, which is nice. Location is great, close to restaurants, bars, shopping etc. One thing that Agoda should be providing is a phone number in cases of serviced apartments. This because there is no official reception desk available and you have to search for the contact details beforehand online yourself. With explaining where to go exactly in taxi's a phone number is a necessity.
