Island feel and good people”

Koh Samed in my opinion has the best beaches in a direct proximity from Bangkok. I just like this place and more I like that we found Sangthian Beach Resort with its relaxed bay, lack of boats and nice people working there. Perfect location for families with children, you get this Island feel which you could lose in endless tourist flow on the other more populated beaches of the same island. The owner is a singing guitar hero that performs every night giving the guests a nice chill-out lounge atmosphere. There are different boats to deliver you there - speed boats at the main pier cost 800 Baht to the resort. But apparently you can take a 300 Baht speed boat in a different place or at the resort. The private transfer speed boat is 3500 Baht at the pier and 2000 Baht at the resort, so consider calling the resort and ask about it. There is also a slow boat once a day for 70 Baht. Good breakfasts, diverse, tasty and plenty. The location and the view from the restaurant is just stunni

Quiet, relaxing and charming.”

Sangthian beach resort is the perfect place to relax. The beach is clean and has soft, white sand. The water is super clear so it is possible to go snorkeling close to the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. You can enjoy sunrise from the beach, and if you take a short walk to the viewing point, sunset too. It is also possible to go for a walk to the neighboring beaches and resorts. The food at the restaurant is tasty and good value for money. For breakfast you have a choice between an Asian breakfast or an ‘American breakfast’. The superior sea view rooms have a lovely view of the ocean. I will happily choose to stay at this resort again.

Quiet location for a family break”

We really enjoyed our stay at Sangthian Beach Resort. We stayed in a family room which was clean & comfortable. Sangthian beach was perfect for children with safe, clean water. The beach was amazing with clear water & soft, white sand. Very quiet at night with a few restaurants along the beach for meals. There was a much busier beach 5 minutes walk away. Perfect if you like the quiet life,

Solid, quiet location”

We and another couple landed on Sangthian Beach Resort trying to book two rooms on Koh Samet the weekend after Christmas, which proved to be a extremely busy time on the Island. That said, there are nicer places that seem to have comparable prices, especially on the quiet, southern side of the island. At Sangthian, the rooms were clean, stock with water and towels. We had rooms with a sea view and the sound of the waves coming into the small beach was relaxing. The breakfast included in our tickets was solid.

Exceptional”

A very good choice for Samet. Nice wooden cozy bungalow located among the trees. Beach is small but water is clean, good for swimming and safe for kids. Quaint place. Staff is helpful. Good vibe. There are plenty exotic birds. Sea View rooms on the top are highly recommended. Must know: nearest big convenient store is a Wangduan beach(and 7-11 is farther, 4 km away), if walking or renting a bike is an issue, bring all necessities with you. Ultimate plus: hotel has a ferry from Ban Phe directly to Ao Sathian. Tip: bring ice basket for BBQ and ask use make BBQ on the beach. Best choice for romantic getaway or family vacation.

Most memorable vacation”

The resort is set very beautifully. It looks so picturesque as our boat approached the resort. Quaint wooden chalets set among trees. My ocean view family room is just as shown in the picture provided. Love it that I can just lie on bed and watch the sun rising. The view is magnificent, worth the climb up. The beach is very clean and clear. Private beach, not much outsiders as it’s not so easy to get there. Breakfast is nice with sufficient spread. We managed to catch the fire show as shown in the pictures, but not sure if it’s a weekly thing. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Getting there was a bit of a tension for us as we were unable to ascertain if the boat to sangthiam had arrived at the pier and which one was it. No one at the pier knew about the boat. However, there is definitely a boat direct to the resort from the Chok krisda pier at ban phe at 11am only. But best to call the hotel beforehand just in case. The boat ride takes about 45min. Otherwise, you can also take a boat to Nadan pier then take a transport (about 300baht) to the resort. Best not to bring huge luggage as you will need to carry it off the boat or from the mini bus down some steps to the reception area. Also need to carry your own luggages to the rooms.

Wow was I ever impressed with this resort! Rooms were remodeled just a year ago so they are a pleasure to enjoy! Quality and style of the rooms is excellent. Wonderful view of the ocean from two windows or the porch on front of my room. Super clean and everything worked perfectly . Music on the beach was low volume but excellent full sound due to the size and quality of the speaker system. Colorful and comfortable nap areas were well used. Quality of the sea food was beter then in Pattaya at great prices. My chosen entrees were just 120 to 180 baht and excellent. This is quiet beach at the far end of the island so this is not a party atmosphere. Most guests were couples, small groups, or small families and all enjoyed the quiet and comfort together. Beach sand here is very clean and soft sugar sand. Staff were freindly and attentive without getting in your face. Prices of drinks were same as pattaya bars so no gouging for money there.

Perfect secluded beach getaway ”

We loved this resort! Easy to get to from Bangkok. It’s on a quiet beach about half way down the island, so we were able to walk south to the park or north to the main hub (although it was a long hilly walk, maybe rent a scooter haha). We didn’t want to be in a busy area, so this was perfect. The ocean views were spectacular and the room was clean and cozy. The beach was great for swimming, and there are of nice restaurants to check out on neighbouring beaches just a few min walk away. Very much a Thai island cultural experience! We will definitely return to this resort.

Nice resort by the beach”

It's a really nice resort located by the beach. The rooms are quite OK but the location of the resort is awesome. Another thing to mention is the great WiFi speed in all the location of the property. Everything is however dealt in cash and so its better to travel with cash there. The staffs are helpful. Needless to mention the fire show and the Live music by the beach at night time. You will definitely love that. I would definitely recommend this property if you want to relax and chill at Ko Samed.

Quiet, peaceful & friendly with 5 star food”

This is our second stay at Santhian Beach Resort & we love it. It is a quiet location with varied travellers. The rooms are comfortable & clean. The food this time was amazing. Definitely the best along the beach. Staff are charming, friendly & helpful. It is a taxi ride away from hustle & bustle. Great if you just want to relax & get away from it all.

Nice Place Nice People ”

We loved our stay at Sangthian. The worst thing was that we did not get off to a good start when we were not given the "VIP" bungalows that we had booked. They did correct this for 2 of our 3 rooms when we pointed it out. The rooms we were all lovely anyway so was not a big issue. Ii would be happy to return.

A Good Weekday Choice for a Quieter Beach + Resort”

this small, quiet beach area is a short walk from the larger, more developed area of ao wong duan. for a fancier meal, you can walk to this more crowded area. BUT on weekends any resort on the island may be booked by a bangkok group/company with the predictably loud nighttime beach party. that was been our experience and included our stay here. life on the island is laid back, don't expect the room facilities to be carefully maintained.

Private Zone and Good staff”

I went to Koh Samed on 13-15 Oct 2018 with a friend.This place is so beautiful and quite that good for take a relax. - For the room, I stayed at the superior sea view. The bathroom was renovated and clean. I felt fresh in the morning from this room. - For the journey, You should be careful if you have not skills for a motorcycle because the way from main road to the hotel is a bit dangerous with the steep hill descent.

Clean and well situated, perfect spot”

Nice hotel with big bathroom and everything clean and nice when we arrived. Stayed three nights with two of my students in a family room and this worked fine for a short stay. Maybe a bit expensive compared to the other hotels on the beach but good to have the restaurant there with nice breakfasts (not included in the price) and overall ok food. Cold-water shower outside the hotel room made it possible to wash of most of the sand before entering the room.

Perfect for a Couple's Getaway”

The facility has a private beach and restaurant to enjoy a meal with a view. The staff were very friendly offering advice to do a snorkeling trip as well as to informing about the fire show during dinner. The rooms were a bit small with wooden floors losing its color. The location is a bit secluded with the road to the hotel being on dirt road. We rented a bike but it's still quite a far ride if you want to go down to the areas where there is a night life. But overall the experience at the hotel was wonderful and I would come here again if given the chance. It was a perfect romantic getaway to relax with my partner.

Noisy surrounding”

Hotel and room o.k., but who likes to listen to noisy Hip Hop music and coming and going speed boats the whole day long? There are less noisy beaches on Kho Samet.

Sangthian Beach Resort Review”

Apart from my booking being mismanaged, meaning I had to move rooms after two nights, the way in which it was resolved was abrupt. The manageress actually suggested I find another resort. Overall the stay was a pleasant one. The small bar on the beach front was a popular place both with guests and people from other resorts. The beach was great and right in front. I have two main complaints. Firstly, although the actual rooms, albeit basic, were comfortable enough, but the bathrooms were truly disgusting. The were shoddy, unclean and they had no ventilation so they stank. Secondly, the service from the staff at the main counter/bar was lackadaisical at best, verging on downright rude. One got the feeling they'd been in the job too long. When asked to do something they went about it like someone walking to the gallows. Their table service skills were awful, and they spent much of their time sitting around playing on mobile phones, when the many cigarette ends sorely needed sweeping up. Addressing these two problems would improve the resort immensely.

Swimming in the ocean, chilling”

We spent one night enjoying the sea view and a probably one of the best beaches in Koh Samet. The surroundings were quiet so there's not much to see or do. The place fits perfectly for families or people who just want to enjoy the sun and beach. Room was pretty basic, but the sea view was very nice.

Great stay next to the ocean !”

The sound of the waves crashing throughout the night was so peaceful. My wife and I ,as well as our son enjoyed our stay here. The beach was clean and the food was delicious. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. 5/5 would recommend.

Very good”

Location is stunning, quiet beach. Nice deck with beanbags, drinks reasonably priced. But facilities run down, no coffee in room, electric sockets very loose and unsafe, fire show was very amature. Dogs running around barking, beach was quite dirty and washed away. I have stayed here a few times before but the resort has gone downhill, no maintenance being done, no extras or attention to customer comforts. And price has gone up a lot. Not worth it anymore.
