My family and I had a pleasant time in Samed Cliff Resort. The resort is located outside of the national park, so we saved the entrance fee of 200 baht pp. The hotel provides free wifi at its dining area, but internet is not available at bungalows. Food at the hotel is just average, but there is a very nice and affordable family restaurant nearby. Sea is at the our door step, but no beach. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. It is very good value for money.

Weekend Break”

Very happy with Samed Cliff Resort Staff were friendly and helpful. Chalet was clean attractive with a nice balcony area outside overlooking an attractive seascape. Only Thai channels on the TV sadly but wifi was fast enough to watch films on my ipad. Breakfast was varied and decent enough with unlimited fresh coffee, on the gazebo overlooking the same attractive beach. Pool was a nice size. The location is a couple km from the main town but scooters accessible easily enough to hire.

Quiet and relaxing stay”

In looking for a quiet place to stay for a few days, Samed Cliff was just right. On the north end of the island, it’s fairly close to the main pier away from the park and main drag of resorts and bars. A very good getaway if you’re looking for a quiet beach area that’s a bit more local. The rooms were comfortable, the pool and beach relaxing, the food good and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful.

Relaxing retreat, a short hop from Bangkok”

We had a great time at the Samed Cliff Resort. Staff were friendly and helpful, and food was excellent. Views of gardens and sea were really niceYou will need a motorbike or other form of transport if you wish to explore the rest of the island, as it is quite remote. I would recommend not getting the beach front as we did, because only a few metres walk further back the rooms were the same, but quite a bit cheaper for not having the prestige of being beach front, yet as they were slightly raised they still enjoyed the views

Location is far from the center and Sai kaew beach. Ao Noi na - It is calm . The beach not much clear . The room is uppermost ( we are stay on Mini Suite room ) 5 upstair just walk so tried if you forget something 555+ Room is clean . Bed is soft have amenity in bathroom but they don't have hair dryer -*-

Fantastic loacation to have a quiet time with your”

If you just want to spend a quiet time with your wife / GF this is the place to go. Excellent beach and fantastic view looking back to the coast and the city of Rayong. The beach is beautiful and not full of idiots like on the other side of the island. The food was the only downfall, while it was ok was very pricey (by Thai standards)better to walk back towards town or jump in a taxi if you cant be bothered walking and you will find a german restaurant, and a seafood restaurant about 700-800 metres away. SOme of the staff were really friendly the Thai ones and some of the others not so good but that was because I think they were Cambodian and their English / Thai not so good. But overall was a great place for a quiet stay on Koh Samet. THe view at night from your Cabin balcony was fantastic.

Relaxing, ”

The beach houses were in a supberb location. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The people who run the so called speed boat to the Island should be locked up in Jail as they are robbers.They charged us 1800 Baths for the return trip to Ko Samet and then didn't send a speed boat for the return journey to the mainland.These robbers will mean that we would never recomend our friends to go to Ko Samet.

Nice hotel away from the main area, only a 5 to 10 minute scooter ride to town. Breakfast delicious with very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again when visiting Koh Samed.

Chomtolay rooms are not the seaview bungalows ”

Before you book, make sure you take a screenshot of the room you will be booking to avoid misunderstandings with the manager. Chomtolay rooms are not the cliffside bungalows you see with the large picture frame windows of the sea. They are dark and gloomy. They are like expensive servant quarters as opposed to the bungalows on the cliffs. Chomtolay rooms are not worth the money since further down the road you can get a bungalow right on or next to the beach for the same price or less. We had to pay extra for the cliff side bungalows because of this misunderstanding and since we had already prepaid. Anyway, with that out of the way, the resort has a nice pool, erratic wifi, and limited buffet breakfast which can run out by 9am. Why does breakfast end so early between 7am and 9.30am? The resort looks tired but the cliffside bungalows have very spectacular views of the sea which makes this place worthwhile. However, if your bungalow is located near the pool be aware of feral children running, screaming and jumping in the pool ignored by their parents who seem too weary to do anything except drink and smoke. The restaurant is non-existent so don't bother to order here but go up the road. Staff seem world weary and unhappy, rarely smiling. The manager smiled the most.

Nice Name, But location....”

Travel with my love 1st time in Samed, Thinking find a nice name and nice view of hotel for us. when we move in, room is clean, but far from the happy party area. i think we can find the same $$ in that area too, of cos the room not as nice as Samed Cliff Resort. Need to rent Motorbilk take about 20min drive. My friend is drunk, Im don't know how to drive Motorbilk. that is the problem. If you not type of party and drinking person, recommend Samed Cliff Resort.

We enjoyed our stay at Samed Cliff Resort. As they offer motorbikes for rent it was much easier and cheaper to see more of the island.

Quite nice, near beach”

Resort itself is quite nice, suitable for people who like to stay quite place. I visited Samet many times but usually I went Ao Vongdeaun. And this time I went this beach,,,,It was not really bad but compared with Ao Vongduan and Ao Sangthian,,,color of beach was so-so.

I Do not recommend this hotel”

first Impressions, saw the hotel from boat, woow loved it. when we reached, room was ready staff was fantastic, well greeted, all went well. in the night AC started making noise, ohh there is no Phone in the room no one in the lobby no one at the Reception, finaly got a piece of paper and insulated the AC casing and got rid of the noise. so if you need assistance in night you wont get it. next day morning - its time for free breakfast. we were told the breakfast is only from morning 7:30 to 9:30 we had to get up early just for the breakfast. when we reached ohh my GOD fired Egg / Omlet 3slice of bread , tea / coffee and 4slice of fruits. the Worst part is its Free LIMITED Breakfast. you cant order even a slice of bread extra. The staff was good, they denied me saying its not possible to get more, not fault of the stafd but overall policy of the hotel. from the pier to hotel taxi will charge you 100bath per person. there are two area in the island. one is the Non National Park Area one National Park Area this hotel lies in Non National Park area. there is absolutely no life in the non national park area the hotel menu is twice the other hotels the other hotels have live music fire work more trending crowrd it feel lively from street food to supermarket to beach nothing is accessible if your staying here. i bookes for sunday Monday tuesday but since sunday rates was peak i was charged peak for next two days also. if i wud have booked sunday differently and monday tue differently it would have saved money. to stay herw you need a bike for sure 300bath/day so its upto you , what ever deal you get you shud add 300bath per day bike rent in the same. the beach is negligible very very small and its just adjoining to local peoples home its not so clean and it is crowded with boats the main road passes between the rooms and the restaurant come beach. so your view is anyways obstrected by the electical pole and wires. this is not a one piece resort its a

A magnificent resort with typical location that allows travellers to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the island The staff were incredibly helpful and polite The room was perfectly cleaned and tidy and was taken care of every morning after leaving I would definitely recommend the place to future travellers

the check in was fast. First we had booked for one night but wanted to stay longer. Interesting thing is agoda’s prices were lower than those offered by the staff. The breakfast (buffet) area is by the sea and serves at least two Thai dishes as well as toast, eggs, ham, some serial, jam, coffee/tea, juice ... The bungalows are overseeing the pool and there are some steps if you go all the way up, which can be a bit harsh if you carry two children and a stroller, but hay the view, peace and the rest make you forget about the struggling staircase. On the topic of the latter. Be careful as you walk the stairs as it seems some wooden planks are in serious need of replacement. The hotel is situated about 20 minutes (walking) from the main town where one can find everything from shopping to dinning. You could rent a motorbike for 300B/day or a 4 by 4 ATV for 400B/day. Taxi can be a bit expensive as they charge for a full car and if you are alone they won’t come and pick you up for less than 300B. Internet only works in the reception/breakfast area (the pool is just out of range – however the beachfront has connection). The staff is nice and attentive. The beach is not as nice as the ones on the other side of the island as it is facing the main land, but you won’t be bothered by speed boats of daily tourists coming in from Pattaya.

good hotel away from the city hussle bussle, clean and children/family beach, motorbike is available at the hotel costing THB350/day, friendly staff, good place to stay for relaxing, lazying around and reading, quiet surroundings. Feel a bit high priced as we paid USD186 for 2 nite stay. Ideal price should have been USD60-USD70 per nite then it would have been called Value For money. None the less, a great hotel and surroundings.

Always enjoy visiting samed, found it quite busy, and a little disappointed with the amount of hotels being constructed, it's lost its paradise status for me.The amount of taxis must of trebled.

We came here for a quiet weekend getaway. The resort staff was helpful. The view from our bungalow was quite awesome! The beach was small, but nice and clean. The buildings and decor are a bit dated. The breakfast wasn't anything special. It was good value for money though.
