Excellent Place for Expats”
This is the second time I’ve stayed at Runa Runa. The first sharing with one co-worker and the second sharing a “hostel” like room with 5 single beds with four other co-workers. Both stays gave us a great location, right down the road from the national park entrance, and comfort for our price range. Nothing too outstanding about the rooms but for the money the location and cleanliness is definitely outstanding. Unless I go for a splurge weekend Runa Runa is definitely my chosen hotel for Koh Samet. Plus, the staff is very helpful.

Excellent”
Best value for money in the area. They have a few properties (5 I think) so worth checking which one. I stayed in Runa Runa 3 which had good size doubles with AC and nice balconies. Staff friendly and laundry service good. Well located on the main ‘town’ strip of the island. Would stay here again if I return - overall the quality of accommodation on the island is not great so not really worth paying the extra money at other places in my opinion. This place has everything you need.

Quiet and clean! ”
We had a great stay at runa runa guesthouse. The room and washroom were very clean, although the queen size bed provides little space in the room. Motor bikes were available for rent at the hostel which was very convenient. An air-conditioner rather than a fan would have made the stay even more enjoyable!

The new rooms are good”
We booked a basic/standard room with shared bathroom. We got the runa runa infront of the police station. We got the new room backyard not those near the reception. It was very clean nice bed. We had the shower and toilet next door and it's new also and clean. (y)

Lovely stay”
We were very pleased with our stay at Runa Runa, very clean, staff were friendly and helpful, quiet at night but in a very good location close to the pier and a short walk to the beach with nice restaurants either side! Would stay here again next time we are on the island :)

Great spot just off the road, easy walk to beach”
Read a lot of moaning reviews, no idea why. This is an 8/10 or 9/10 place, never sure how these things are calculated Not sure which 'house' I stayed in, maybe Runa 3, bit back off the road but great room, big, everything worked fine, sitting out area (no view but what can you do, not near beach!), coffee and tea on site. Just a really nice place, recommend

Perfect for a couple of days on Koh Samet”
There are actually four or so different properties that make up Runa Runa (I think we were in Runa Runa 3). The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. When we saw her around in town she'd always wave and ask how we were doing. Room was spacious, good comfy bed and very clean. It's not super close to the beach, but is a very easy walk and is close to the good eating places. Would recommend.

Very good”
Good location midway between the ferry pier and Whitesands beach; both can be walked to within 5mins so no need for taxi going to either unless carrying heavy luggage. Room I had was a standard fan room with 6ft bed; this was sufficient for me wife and 2 kids. 2 7/11's on the way to Whitesands beach and one towards the ferry pier. Most of our food and meals were from 7/11 to keep costs down. Booked a one day speedboat tour through Runa Runa; cost 600B adults, 300B kids and under 4 years free. Not bad as it took us to 5 islands and included lunch of fried rice and fruit.

Cute place!”
We stayed here for one night only, but we loved the place. Our room was clean and spacious with a cute bathroom. The only negative aspect might be the sheets, as we‘re not sure if they were really washed. But I guess you will make this same experience whereever you go. Wifi worked perfectly. The ventilator in the room was nice - better than other ones we had before. One big plus is the fact, that geckos and mosqitoes are kept outside of the room. At last one might need to know that the guesthouse is not located within the nationalpark, so you have to pay 200THB as a foreigner to get to the beaches. I would recommend to rent a motorbike to explore the island.

Pleasant stay for the price.”
I stayed in one of the smaller rooms with a shared bathroom for two nights. The price was very low due to the lack of tourists because of Covid restrictions. The guesthouse was close to the main beach and many restaurants and shops. I think I may have been the only guest during my stay because I did not see anyone else. I was in a room in an outdoor hallway of about 10 rooms with one shared bathroom that had a single shower, sink and toilet. The bathroom was very clean and I was the only one using it. Soap, shampoo, and toilet paper provided. The low price room, however, was quite small and did not have air conditioning. There was only a fan in the room at it would get pretty hot even at night. They have rooms with AC that cost a bit more. There are many types of rooms available, all located behind the main office on a back road so there is ample privacy. There are even hostel rooms and an outdoor sitting area for young travelers in groups that want to crash together.

Great budget spot!”
Great budget accommodation in the heart of Ko Samet. Nice location but not noisy, room was spacious and towels/water provided every day. Also tea and coffee facilities were really handy. Water coming out of taps was slightly brown so wouldn't advise brushing teeth with it, otherwise everything else was great!

Nice cheap guesthouse”
The guesthouse is pretty nice, clean and affordable, one of the cheapest on the island. It's located well, close to the main street of the village with a lot of places to have a breakfast, lunch or dinner. A decent and not overcrowded beach is about 20 min away though. There is a lovely terrace where you might unexpectedly meet friends you made in other parts of Thailand :D

Great stay, great value ”
Loved it here. We stayed in one of the air conditioned rooms which was very comfortable. The room had a balcony which was nice to sit on in the evening. The fridge and tea and coffee making facilities was great considering the price of the room. Staff were very friendly and can arrange tours and motorbike hire. Only slight negative is the WiFi was poor in our room but it didn’t cause us any problems as I just used my mobile data. 4G signal with Dtac sim

Good value and clean”
Stayed for 3 nights Oct 2016. I agree with all the positives mentioned in previous reviews. Daily cleaning and towel change. Quiet location but adjacent to all amenities. Duvet was too small for the v large bed but not an issue for me as I was solo. Overall a good choice on Ko Samet.

a decent place in a great location”
We have stayed a few different places on Koh Samed and they all workout to be the same type of rooms. Some of course kept cleaner than others. This is kept well, the bed and sheets were clean and smelled fresh. There were no bugs such as ants or roaches crawling around inside. It was a good value and I would recommend it for people looking for a cheaper option, but with good standards.

Very clean but very aggressive dogs”
Very clean and fresh rooms. Everything was super good except for the dogs around the guesthouse. After 10 pm they got very aggressive and it was hard to go back to the room even with motorbike. I have never been afraid of dogs before.

Would not recommend ”
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in it was like staying down a back ally... To make it worst room D2 right outside the laundry in the small corridor where the ladies who are very nice do the washing with a twin tub start work at 7.30 in a morning.. Who wants to listen to a washing machine at that time on holiday , but the staff are very quite. The bed also very hard , small rooms and the shower room awful you need to duck your head to go throw the door .No safe in rooms no English tv .. Kettle in room with free tea and coffee that was the only good thing about the room ..Sorry Runa Runa .

The good staffs and good service!”
The staffs are really kind and good people. In the room, there are curtains to make your beds personal spaces, free waters, two air conditioners and personal lockers. There are enough really good facilities for this price! I really liked it! I wanna stay here again!
