Good bed and well located hotel. The room is not big and for sure you can find better hotel for same price in the same area. Super helpful staff always make a stay that much better. The location is prime and I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent accommodations”
Excellent until my checkout. I had to find my own taxi to go to the airport and carry my own luggage. I would expect a hotel like this with better customer service. Other hotels in the area treat you better. Hotels managers: this is something that will make your hotel truly fantastic.

Little Russia in Beijing”
Ritan is located in the Russian area of BJ. Interesting for a non Russian. Most signs in the area including the hotel are Chinese and Russian. Restaurants serve russian inspired food. The problem with the hotel in not the building itself, it is the staff and in this case other guest. The hotel staff speak very good Chinese and Russian. English is not a strong point. Check in and especially out takes forever in old China hotel manner. I had the bad luck of getting a room next to a Russian drinking party that started at midnight and ended at 0500 in the morning. Very noisy.... Cigarett smoke wafting into my room. Who cares if the room was on a non smoking floor (8th). At 3 AM I called reception and tried to communicate my problems. Staff might have understood my complaints. But nothing happened of course. At 5 AM the party was over............ The hotel is quite far away from metro line stations. You can find much better value and service in other places in BJ. I live and travel in China for 15 years and this place is definitely NOT fantastic.

Good comfort standard but service to be improved”
The rooms are very comfortable, with large beds and big TV screens (supplying even free movies). The hotel hosts mostly Russian customers, so the staff speaks better Russian than English. There is a small Russian grocery at the corner, with fresh fruits and a large choice of snacks and beverages.The staff is not particularly friendy but manages to serve non Russian-speaking customers. The surroundings of the hotel are not very nice , but the location is central, and there is only 15-20 walk to the nearest metro station.

The former breakfast restaurant was outstanding. The new setup has the breakfast on the ground floor and is poor by any standards. There are no more eggs-to-order. The eggs that are available are pre-cooked and left out on a cold platter and unheated. Every day there was nothing but cold fried eggs. Fruit bowls were often empty and unfilled. Bread items ran out and were not restocked. The "fruit juice" is watery stuff that you pour yourself from plastic bottles. I've stayed at the Ritan for many years and am very disappointed at the direction they are taking.

Make sure you ask for room that's facing the road to get some ventilation. During the winter there's no A/C and the fan doesn't seem to generate enough air. If not it's a really amazing room with great value of money.

Hotel is nice, Location is a bit far from major fast food joints which was something we really missed. Over all a nice hotel close to lovely clubs and some good restaurants. A lot of foreigners can be found especially in the night time.

breakfast really doesn't worth it. the pool is not a part of hotel and you need to pay. so it's not actually 5* standards. however if they ask 80 euros per room take it, rooms are fine! try Russian restaurant on the ground floor, it's great

Russian Speaking stuff”
Short - I left after the first day without getting refund for the second one This place got really high score that it does not deserve - there are so many better hotels in BJ for same price and less. Don't go there unless you need help in Russian: Ugly building, ugly interior design, most stuff don't speak English, my room was horrible, including 0 view because a big metal plate covered my window 50 cm away from the outside. It's not deserving of 0 score, but 3 would be right, just wanted to balance the high score that it got.

There are no English language TV channels. The room service has a hidden 20% charge to bring it to your room. The breakfast is awful, the cutlery dirty and the staff very rude. On my second day I tried to use the swimming pool/gym but was told I was not allowed - in russian!
