I stayed 3 nights and was offered a transfer from the airport. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfy.

I was looking for nothing too fancy for this stay, as we did not plan to spend too much time in our hotel anyway. This place turned out to be ideal because it is one block away from the main drag and price value turned out to be totally fine for expensive Usuhuaia. We stayed for one night in November. The room was clean with basic facility. The staff was excellent. The bed was very good. It is a walkable distance to the main street although the city is hilly.

Mix feelings about this hostel, location was good, the rooms far too small and cramped, rules too strict and not welcoming, owner/ receptionist don’t make you feel welcome, they don’t allow you to leave your bag if you are not staying meaning if you check out you have to leave the hostel, even if you need to leave your bag and comeback to pick it up later.

Posada del Pinguino is a basic pension and its price relative to other accommodation reflects that (similar accommodation in other cities would be cheaper). Las Retamas is a small and cosy B&B. We had a double room with an ensuite bathroom. The room and bathroom are not big, but spotless clean and for us very important quiet. The Room was ok, but the shared bathroom was absolutely disgusting...never cleaned! And the Breakfast wich is included isn't really a Breakfast. The Value for the Money is really poor (was expensive)!
Hostel was ok enough but that older grumpy receptionist woman was awful! That's why wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! And it's really out of the way. About 30 min walk uphill from downtown. DON'T GO. There are better hostels with less money in Ushuaia!
It was a bit a walk from the town centre (about 20 to 30) minutes. How the place is nice and cosy. The rooms are too small so there is barely room to move and the showers are usually flooded so they could do with more cleaning. Breakfast is a nice spread.
