Without any doubt this was the best hotel stay I have been in a very long time... I was amaized to see the standards of the hotel, which was never second to any other hospitality organisation... All the staff including the management were very friendly and polite at all circumstances, specially the F&B Manager Mr Jude who was a great personality, who made our stay so m...

we stayed at chaaya wild safari for 2 nights in march 2012 for part of our honeymoon. we had one of the jungle chalets which was a great size, spotlessly clean, with lovely decor and a very comfortable bed. the buffet here was one of the best hotel buffets we had in sri lanka with an excellent range of curries on offer. the safari office on site made it very eas...

I had a fantastic stay at the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel pays attention to environment protection. Little details reflect the management standard, e.g. Put towel against the balcony door in case the rain comes in (rain season now with heavy thunderstorms daily), post card with the guest name and bananas in the room. Bed is extremely comforta...

I made this booking for my in-laws who were very happy about the level of service provided by the hotel. Thanks to Mr. Arun and Shirley for being flexible with the chosen meal plan. The hotel was very helpful in organizing a safari jeep as well. The only thing that i would like to comment is that the Wifi had been very poor hence the 4-star not 5 for the facilities. Bu...

This property is off the beaten path, a few km from the main road in Wellawaya. But it is a true hidden gem, well worth the trek for anyone looking to experience nature at its best. I stayed two nights at Jetwing Kaduruketha and feel absolutely rejuvenated after waking up to singing birds, running around the property's beautiful premises where you meet roaming cows and...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Chena Huts! We even extended our stat by another night! Dulaj, the waiter, accomodated to our every need and was very attentive as well. He surprised us with a cake during dinner and arranged for a seafood platter on our last night. Best service award goes to him!! The ranger and driver are also very experienced and thanks to them, we ...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights, the staff is very welcoming, gives great service and the food is delicious. The tents are very large and beautiful. The tents are immaculate. The atmosphere is very calming since it's in the jungle, we were sad to leave the place and say goodbye to the charming staff. We took a safari with them and appreciated very much our guide A...

we stayed at this hotel for access to 3 national parks - fabulous location. quite expensive excursions and you can book independently for better priced jeep tours into the parks. we enjoyed the restaurant for both in room and garden dining. the pool area was a bit crowded and wifi coverage was not the best. facility was new and beautifully decorated. we would defi...

The owners at this family owned business exceeded our expectations as a traveling couple. They were responsive, more responsive even than local safari packages, and offered to organize a safari upon arrival, for a reduced price(14k rupees.).When we relayed our travel plans (from Tissa to Kandy) they warned us about the convenience and the cost of attempting to drive to...

One of the best holidays we've had the service and the standard of the hotel were above and beyond what we were expecting. From start to finish every staff member went out of there way to ensure that our stay was the most comfortable and enjoyable it could be which it was!! the standard of the food was amazing and we just kept saying to each other i don't know how they...

We had a great time with out 18 month old. Family friendly with a wide array of food for her to choose from. She loved playing in the grass, in the sand, with the staff and in the kiddies pool. As a result we could really relax, unwind and enjoy the amazing atmosphere of the place. It was the perfect size resort and, being right on the ocean offered unparalleled views ...

An unbelievable experience for both my girlfriend and I. The dinner, service and safari was incredible from the first second. The staff were genuinely friendly and catered to all our needs. The dinner was beautifully arranged and encircled a huge bonfire beneath the stars. We managed to see all the animals including a leopard! (Please don’t take this as a guarant...

I thoroughly enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the city (although you still do experience a bit of the bloodlust on the safari as tourists chase around in a bid to find wildlife). The staff were great, friendly and attentive. The food was pretty standard but that didn't bother us, there were bugs aplenty, and the mid-afternoon heat was almost unbearable....

This place is simply fantastic...beautiful on the inside and out. The rooms are large, clean and modern. Yes, no shower curtain, but I rather enjoyed that! And the views are simply breathtaking. The hotel is literally a peninsula in a rice paddy field. Gorgeous. The pictures up on TA are exactly how the place looks too. The owner, Jagath, is a wonderful man, very invi...

This place is ideal as a base for a safari into Yala national park. Safaris in open SUVs can be booked for 5.30 in the morning or 2.30 in the afternoon and take about 3 1/3 hrs. It takes you about half an hour to get into the park, including the formalities at the entrance, the rest of the time you drive through the park. Animal spotting is not comparable to Africa - t...

My wife and I spent three days here as a part of our honeymoon. The staff were amazing and looked after us with great care, always waiting until we had left our room before cleaning, organising a massage and a safari. However the massage is quite expensive as is the food, and the menu doesn't seem to offer many Sri Lankan dishes. That said we were treated to one of the...

This hotel was beautiful from the foyer to the rooms. The bed was comfortable and the views from the room were gorgeous. The room backed onto the pool, which overlooked rice paddies. I would have liked to stay here longer. The wifi is weak at best in the rooms though. The dinner service is relatively expensive, about $15, compared to what you can get elsewhere. My bi...

Saraii Village was the most unique and amazing place we've ever stayed in. When I booked the place online, i was not sure what to expect but my family and i were thrilled to see this hideaway in a Werawilla. You come down a short distance down a dirt path (which was a little eroded due to the recent heavy rain) from the main road and you come up to a large garden with ...

I've always wanted to stay near a lake and enjoy the feeling. There is 24 hour continuous wind flowing across the property and it is really mind relaxing. Pros: View of the lake from the propery is awesome. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and tidy with all necessaries. Staff is kind and helpful. Cons: One of the ac machines did not work properly and we felt the warmth ...

Hotel is superbly located for Yala safari and incredible vfm. We paid £100 half board for 2 nights. Fixed menu for dinner may not suit all, but 4 courses were very good. Pool is lovely and our room overlooked the beautiful lake. Staff can not do enough to please. Not a 5 * luxury hotel, but perfect for the location. The hotel is remote and not really near any other r...

As soon as we arrived at the Kirinda Beach Resort, we had a very friendly team of staff to welcome us ensuring that we felt instantly at home and relaxed. This is one hotel where the photos on Agoda do not do justice to the rooms, which turned out to be a lot nicer than we were expecting. This is an eco hotel so you are very much thrown in with nature, we had tree frog...

After tired whole day trip to yala we arrived around 8.30pm to check in. We were tired & so wanted to jump in to pool. Front office informed us that pool was closed but our friendly room boy Sampath have had a word with pool staff & delayed the cleaning process just to give us some time for a so wanted swim. From that point onwards he didn't hesitate for a minute to go...

Yala adventure 's environment is so great. There are many trees, plants and butterfly garden and a lake. All of these are so natural. The Room clean and tidy. We arrived late because of raining. The manager and staff are kindhearted and warmly. They welcomed us and we felt so warm and happy. We had dinner and tried the Sri Lanka hand pilaf with the manager's guide and ...

Ok..we stayed here as a family of 4 for a couple of nights. Location is decent. Just 20 min or so from the park entrance. Beware though. We booked on Agoda, which said there was WiFi. There was no WiFi. This may not matter to you, but it wild have been useful to have. The food was very mediocre. Dinner was basically rice and curry. One day we waited almost 3 hours for...

Can't complain. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. You could visit Kiri Vehera, Kataragama Hindu Temple, Situlpavva from here. Hotel arranges a Yala safari, which is reasonably priced. Ransu the driver was pretty helpful. A little more training and he could be an awesome guide/tracker for Yala visits. You could also do a night safari on Kataragama Buttala road, where you are...

We arrived on our first day off the plane to this wonderful little hotel in Kandy, and were greeted by a veritable feast! (Remember to book a curry for that evening by 2pm!) There was sublime soup to start, followed by 5 curry dishes and rice, and a tasty dessert! Little did we know, the food we would have for the rest of our trip would not live up to this magnificent ...
Cheapest hotels in Moneragala District

For us was this by far the best place we stayed during our three weeks visit to SriLanka. The owners (brother and sister) were so friendly as it feeled like home. The brother cooked very well and toke us to the Perahera in Kataragama which was great. He makes the bezt egg fried rice we ever tasted. The sister is so kind and anticipated on each situation (free bikes,...

i dont write reviews but this new setup deserves encouragement. At dirt cheap price they provide you with all essentials. Safety, location, comfort and great hospitality. they go out of their way to arrange cheapest and best safari expeience for travelers, And specially help solo travelers to get shared rides in the national parl

We had a fantastic stay here. Our host was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and spacious. The setting by the lake was lovely and peaceful. The only downside was that the menu was a bit overpriced, but we instead ate in a 'hotel' 5 minutes away which was cheap and delicious. Overall, definitely recommend.

staffs are super friendly. got the safari tickets through them but dont expect too much on the safari, we didnt see much but it is expected because this is just depend on your own lucky for what you get to see on the day. clean room, no hot water for shower but it doesnt bother me much since the weather was hot. unforgettable experience because the staffs would try...

Highly recommend the owner as a Safari guide as he is in this from the very beginning also very helpful and professional and passionate about safari tours ! Please be aware there is a maffia built arround to rip off the unaware tourists they come to you on the bus during the journey or at the bus station . Unfortunately we were the victim of this however the Owner of t...

Our stay started off a little rocky as we booked a standard double room and were given a twin room with a separate bathroom and told this was "only for our use" (which was not advertised). This was inconvenient but we didn't push the point as we were only staying one night. We organized the safari through Bala, the incredibly helpful owner of Nature Resort and within a...

I booked my room for the night on the way to Tissamaharama. I was greated by friendly manager and staff. Dominic (sp?), the manager arrange my Yala Safari tour immediately when he knew I didnt have any bookings. He also insisted to drive me instead of taking tuk tuk during a rain storm to go to the ATM for no charge. My room was very spacious and clean. I was not ab...

This is a family run guesthouse and this is a great thing - it's all about the owner! The gentleman that runs this place is extremely helpful, attentive and polite. He helps when you need it but never disturbs you. You can tell he and his family like what they do - the place is very well maintained and very clean - the buildings, rooms, garden. Rooms are not huge but m...

Lovely quiet lakeside accomodation, very welcoming and helpful. They organised the safari for us and we were very happy, it was good value with excellent guide. We ate dinner there and it was lovely and good value. Would stay here again and happy to recommend

we enjoyed our stay very much and were warmly welcomed. it deserves 5 stars, even though it is simple, cold shower only, but cozy hammock places to rest, and best care. i also recommend to book safari through the hotel, because they have best jeeps and drivers, and the owner wakes you up at 4:30 a.m. in the morning with great smile, plus tea & coffee, and a sandwich f...

We booked two last minute nights at V Cabanas when we decided to opt for Tissa over Kataragama (around Safari plans). We couldn't be more pleased! We really loved Tissa itself and V Cabanas was a great find. This gem is on the opposite side of town to all the bigger hotels which meant far fewer jeeps touting for business and a nice walk to the high street (if you prefe...

I visited Yala Hide on 07.08.2018 with my wife and 2 kids of 4 years and 2.5 years. It is a family owned property run by a professional and the care taker and the staff is extremely supportive. It is situated about 7kms from Tissa town on situlpawwa road. The room is huge as well as the bed. The room is well furnished and AC and hot water is there. Bathroom is large an...

There was some confusion over our booking, so we didn't actually stay here. (Wouldn't recommend booking through agoda as they apparently don't use it, hence the confusion). However, we booked our safari with them which was great. The food here is amazing, the curries were so tasty and portions massive. The staff were so happy to help us and even though we stayed in the...

We stay there 3 nights at the end! Was the best part of our trip!!! We love everything about this place!! The cabana is just very cute with an amazing view!!! The owners were also so sweet, we spend much time with them playing guitar and amazing some arack! They cook for us breakfast and diner! Was some of the best food i tasted in Sri Lanka! Also we booked a safari tr...

We have been travelling around Sri Lanka for the past two weeks and this accommodation has been the best yet! Having never stayed in a tree house before we were not sure what to expect but it was brilliant, I think I have slept the best here for our two nights than I have elsewhere in Sri Lanka! We didn't venture out for food because the food here is the best we have t...

Very nice guesthouse. Clean, perfect location, just a few minutes walking from the bus station and the center of Thissa. Very friendly manager, he received us with fresh lemon water , give us our room at 10.30 when we arrived , take care of us in a very polite and nice way. And even his mother prepared for us a geat dessert, traditional Buffalo curd before we went. I ...

This was a very comfortable bungalow for a family of five or two couples. The service was exceptional. Later I found out that management was the same as for Villa Acacia at Nuwara Eliya which is also an exceptional place. The rooms are air-conditioned and there is a mini fridge for you to store your drinks. There is tea and fruit available free of charge, a rare o...

Great bed and large room. Good sitting area outside in a large walled garden. Quiet location. Easy bus ride to Tissamaharama 28 rupees. kirinda v quiet sea unsafe to bathe. ok for Yala and owner has a brother who does ok tours at 6000rupees for two as a private tour plus entry costs at another 6000rupees for two. Breakfast ok and evening meals ok on first night ...

Ranjith provided great service with prompt responses to emails. He arranged a safari to Yala that was less expensive than some other quotes and with a guide that was very conscientious and helpful to try to find animals. As others have stated, Nilu's meals were absolutely outstanding and wonderful--more than we could eat, but we could hardly stop! Hospitality and servi...

We had an amazing experience here! We stayed for 2 nights - the room was really nice, clean and spacious with a big balcony! Our room also included a great breakfast. We did a safari with the home stay owner and wow was it amazing! He's been a guide of yala park for 15 plus years. We literally saw every animal that there was to see by 10.30 am! We even saw 4 leopards...

This was the cleanest place I stayed my entire trip in Sri Lanka. Very modern rooms that are very well priced. The food was also excellent. They arranged an incredible Safari into neighboring Bundala national park that was MUCH cheaper than any safari into Yala and without the crowds. The only slight downside is that because it is right next to the entrance to the park...

Really lovely people and very clean room. It is about 10 minutes walk to the beach. They do a very good breakfast and are always helpful. Comfortable bed, great bathroom and nice room. Area is quiet other than the usual sounds of dogs which seems to be everywhere in Sri Lanka!

The staff at Victory Guest House were very helpful in arranging a safari at Yala on New Year's Eve, when it was difficult to get a safari due to high demand. They also waited up late for us to check in, which was much appreciated. The guest house is located not far off the main road in Tissa, and is a good value. There were lots of mosquitoes, but the owner was kind en...

First of all, this is not my first hotel/resort that I have been. Therefore I can compare it with enough facts. I'm not compare this place with foreign places but with another local places. Main disappointments are as follow in bullet points. 1.) There was a rat in the cupboard where mini bar was located. (I do have captured images of that but no place to upload in t...

The hotel is very new and the staff is very friendly. The room was very very good! If you book Yala National Park via the hotel you’ll get an excellent driver. Our driver had 28 (!) years experience. His name was Bindo and he gave us a beyond wonderful experience! We saw all animals we wanted to see an more. Food in the hotel was reasonably priced, but it took a while...

Of the many hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka, I want to say this is the BEST among its peers. We stayed at its family room, which was essentially one triple room and one double room interconnected and sharing a common balcony. (Although we failed to open that connecting door..) The rooms were spacious and well-equipped. The hotel has a swimming pool (surprise) and a bat-w...

The experience we had there is great. Staff were friendly and very supportive. We were able to get our infants food cooked from their kitchen. Food is tasty and the single portion we ordered was more than enough for us and value for money. Few negatives TV not working (But did not complain as we were not there to watch TV) Bathroom was perfectly cleaned and there was...

From our 1st inquiry with Shehani to our final good-byes with Manju, every expectation was exceeded at Kulu Safaris. Attention to detail and 5* service are as abundant as the wildlife here (and there is lots!). The staff are knowledgeable, professional & great with kids. Manju, our naturalist, was fantastic. TENTS were spacious, clean, private, and perfect for a famil...

We stayed at the Wild Trails for three days and its everything and more than what we expected, the camp is based in the jungle just encroaching the Yalla National Park boundary. In the evening there is a lone Elephant that comes to drink water just outside the camp's electric fence. First day, we hired the camp's Safari Jeep and visited the Yalla National Park and yes...

It's a new camp run by Marc and his lovely family and team. They definitely go the extra miles to make your stay as comfortable as possible and offer you the authentic experience in Yala. I had the best devilled chicken in the entire Sri Lanka! The camp is located just at the boarder of Yala, where you can spot animals wandering around. Plus, they also adopted these fo...

It's lucky that we are the first clients of this hotel. Close to Yala national park. 8km and take Jeep for 30mins. Hotel owner is very nice, he took us to local temple and visit their pray process. Besides, he offered us a free nice dinner there since we are their first client. Welcome fruit also nice. And then he drive us to Mirissa. It's a great experience and very c...

We have 8 people in the same group. The room downstairs is very nice and comfortable. If upstairs there is no air conditioning, it is not very good.We cook in a hotel and need to buy our own condiments. The restaurant is also very warm. It can seat just 10 people. There's also a big courtyard. It's a suitable vacation place.

Hotel was very clean an the owner was was great. The hotel wasn’t very busy so we got upgraded an the room was great, lots of space an very clean. They sorted our safari out and even got up extra early to make us some breakfast to take with us. Would definetely recommend it specially if you don’t want to be in the centre of town as it’s about 10mins our by tuk tuk.

What a great hotel! Booked this as it was half the price as other hotels in the area - yes the rooms are older style but they are very very comfortable and clean. The food is perfect and the staff give the best service of all our Sri Lankan stays. Very close to Yala national park and great swimming pool. The management are excellent. Get half board to include breakfast...

Just idyllic. A fantastic, solid feeling tent right on the beach. We absolutely loved everything about this place but you should be aware of the following: there is electricity and a fan but no air conditioning or wi fi. The beach is immaculate and beautiful however it is totally natural and so it can be dangerous and is not the kind of beach where you can leave kids t...

Remarkable stay. Best service received from Anura-the pool master. Mate if Im in the management of the hotel,I will promote you as the public relations manager. I've noticed every regular customer knows Anura-the by his name. Great job. And great hotel.

Glamping at it's best. Newly opened. Nice Cabanas right at the lake front. Enjoy peaceful nature, lots of birds. The two hosts take every effort to make your stay perfect. Excellent Sri Lankan food served in the garden. Not to miss the boat ride on the lake at sunset.

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at Leopard Trails. The safari guides were expert and very knowledgeable and after the safari, great company around the evening campfire. The all inclusive arrangements made it easy and relaxing. The whole tented safari experience centres around the morning and afternoon safaris and we were unfortunately one of the few guests who ...

I booked the entire villa with free breakfast. Prior to the arrival I contacted the owner and informed same.
