Traveling to Indonesia? Find Maluku Province hotels

Our stayed in swiss-belhotel was excellent. The service was excellent, the food was great, the attitude of the staffs was excellent and full of smile & helpful. the GM is always available to assist the guest and manage the hotel very well, the facilities and location is also excellent. We definitely will come to stay in this hotel again on our next trip to ambon. And we recommend everybody to stay in this lovely hotel. Thank you Swiss-belhotel and Agoda for gave us the best service and great experience during the stayed in Ambon.

My experience was really nice at The City Hotel in Ambon, Maluku. Very nice and modern design. Staff extremely nice and helpful but I had a bad experience at he restaurant/ bar. Food is really nice both for breakfast, lunch and dinner but it happened to me 3 times staff forget about my order. Last day before check I had breakfast at 8:00 am and bread had run out already. I think it is unacceptable to miss the most essential item for a westerner braekfast which is bread. To be honest I appreciate that the staff immediately went out side to buy extra bread upon my request but they should prior have planned and avoid that unpleasant experience. I highly recommend to stay at this hotel and for sure wanna stay over if I ever come back to Ambon but staff need to be more attentive for some details and costumers' needs.

I booked this hotel on the very same day we were supposed to stay there. I booked 2 bedrooms and called the hotel to let them know that we'll be needing additional bed for the fifth person. But they told me that they only have one room left and they don't have my registration from Agoda yet. So I tried to call Agoda's customer support without success. Then I emailed Agoda and they reply that I just had to show up there and the hotel manager will provide a solution. When I arrived there, the manager had gone home and the the receptionist of course, don't have a solution for us. After trying to contact several other hotel (all full) and sent SOS email requested an assistant from Agoda (no reply), the Engineering guy, Mr. Budi offered us to see the room and see if he can fit us all five within the room. So accompanied by his two colleagues, they put 3 extra beds in the room and we got our room set for the night. The next morning we met the lady who is probably the manager who freed all of the extra bed charges in exchange for the non existence of the second room. This is a revelation to me, I always thought that Agoda had online system that shows real time room now numbers, but turned out it didn't. I would like to recommend Agoda to fix this as this could've ended up with us sleeping on the street.

We booked a standard cottage but on arrival discovered the air con wasn't working in the only availabale cottage. We switched to a standard room (Room 2) and discovered this was worse:- -Air con failed after about half an hour -no toilet seat -hot water failed after about 2 minutes usage -staff room next door and people talking/making noise from 05:00hrs onwards with no regard for paying guests -Moved the bed to fit in an extra bed for our son and floor dirty -light bulb failed in bathroom -dust/material falling from ceiling regualrly during our stay onto the bottom of our bed (termites?) All the above advised to management on arrival late morning and the only things sorted were the light bulb and (at midnight!!) a fan was found by one of the staff. Checked out after one night. By far the worst hotel in our 3 weeks stay in the Maluku Islands.

I booked 2 rooms. We arrived at the afternoon. The room is very small, but its clean and new, there are some spot in the bathroom but it's fine, the water heater is working well too. The first room is satisfying but the Aircon in the second room wasn't working well so we asked for another room, and the staff moved us to another room, which, unfortunately has the same problem but worst, the aircon won't work at all, so we moved again to the third room with the same problem, so we asked the staff to solve the problem, and there is no solution. So at 11 PM we asked them to moved us back to the first room we had, put the luggage on the second room and sleep at the first room, 4 or us

Ambonmanise is the way we usually name after the people & the island. Honestly, it's the truth. The hotel is just a perfect place to stay while visiting Ambon. It's located close to Mardika, also Pattimura Park, Lapangan Merdeka, and GPM Maranatha (Ambon central city). Damri bus stop has a final drop off in front of Lapangan Merdeka. From there, you can ride a becak to arrive in Everbright at the cost Rp 15.000, - Rp 20.000,- or it's about USD 1,28 - USD 1,70(price per March 2014 when I visited). The hotel was used to call Grand Soya Hotel before it had been renovated last year. No worries, there are many food seller around the hotel. Don't be hesitate to visit Ambon. The local people are super friendly, they won't lie you once you're asking for a direction, they are relly helpfull. The beaches, pisang goreng, fresh fish, sukun goreng and everything you name it are super great. Really wishing to comeback to Ambon, sungguh manise :)

This rather new hotel is located close to the city center of Kota Ambon. Staff is very friendly and ready to make your stay enjoyable. Restaurant on site serves quality food, ranging from local treats to Chinese and western dishes. I stayed in a standard room which had anything you might need. Bed is quite nex and allows one to sleep well after a hard day of exploring. Daily power-outtages are solved with a powerful generator. However, the evenings and nights belong to the 'hotelband', who play their songs in a rather loud way. Streetnoise can also be quite loud. Overall I had a pleasant stay!

Small cozy hotel. A bit far from the center of Ambon. The rooms are quite clean, spacious. There is TV (especially nice, which shows well the Sony channel), air conditioning, hot water. Including a simple breakfast (bring at 7 40 AM). Right at the door of the hotel is a big road, with great traffic. Its hard ti go to the other side. The bridg to other side about 100 meters from the hotel, is still under construction. Nearby there is a supermarket Robinson. It is easy to catch Angcot to remote beaches, to the Waai-villave (where the river is with moray eels), etc.

Actually it has the potential to be one of the best hotel in Ambon. Spacious room, Lounge, Karaoke Bar, etc. But the furniture and ambeience just too outdated and not properly managed. Need better and professional staff, and need better menu on the restaurant. However it cost me only 350k somethin (about 31 USD/night) so yes I think I got my value of money.. especially I got 5 pillows on my kingsize bed which was very comfy for such promotion price. The closet was also quite large to, so Yes I did take my time to sat there and think the next day plans 😁

All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My economy room was windowless, which could be a problem for some but I loved it as it was very quiet. The facilities were modern and the showers had hot water all the time. Breakfast was a standard affair. It was close to many of the attractions and restaurants. It is a great hotel for the budget concious but does not compromise on comfort and service. I stayed there on four separate occassions and would definitely stay again should I visit Ambon in the future.

I booked for 2 double bed & non smoking room. I already confirm twice to have double bed not twin bed, non-smoking & connecting door if possible. But when we check in, they said that the room is not connecting but across. I think that's ok. But when I go to the room, it's a twin bed! I argued with the potter & he said that that is the double bed. So I came down to the lobby again. So in this hotel, they understanding of "double" is twin, & "single" is double/king bed. What a mess! Then I ask them to change my room. But the only available was a 1 double/king & 1 twin, & it's not near each other. Well we don't have other option, so we took it. Some people smoking in the room & outside so after come out from lift there were smoke everywhere. The breakfast very simple: Bread, jam, omelette (very small). Now, about the room. The floor was still wet so our shoes left marks. It's clean & ok. But they put only one towel on the bed, so have to ask again. But there are no place to hang your towel in the bathroom or room, maybe they forget this basic needs? The Air con working good & cool. They even provide slipper. The hot water come out quite long. After my husband took a bath with cold water, then after I took a shower few minutes then it become hot. The room has connecting door. At night my next door smoking in the room & the smoke came to my room through it. It seems that the staff is not understand Indonesian language very well (I'm Indonesian), because they cant provide all my requirement: - double bed, they give twin bed - connecting door, even though all the rooms have connecting door, they give us rooms across each other at first. They should be able to prepare it as they have 4 days before my arrival. - non-smoking, even though the room didn't smell smoke because they open the window & clean, anybody can smoke in the room & hallway so it come from the door & connecting door. At least they should prepare non smoking floor .

I didn't have to get myself wet at all, could see a fat moray eel sniffing out d reef crevices, a juvenile butterfly fish with psychedelic blue markings, razor fish that swim upside down... just to name a few, not to mention the fairly large school of ever present "bait" fish . So don't be surprised to be awaken by the sound of big fish hunting small fish below your room floor at night!

The Imperial is a basic hotel that is clean and tidy but for the western backpacker/traveller not the best value for money.For this price you could go to a more 'backpacker/homestay' type place that may be better equipped for your needs. e.g. Imperial was friendly enough, and with miming etc we were able to get directions, but they werent prepared for guests asking for help. They also used a huge load of fresher in the bathroom- overwhelming! Would say its clean,safe and comfortable enough, but to be able to meet other travellers or get info you might be better off at another place.

We stayed one night in the Natsepa before heading to Banda with the speed ferry. It's half way between the airport and a small boat jetty. We had a clean, spacious room with a seaview and balcony. Bed was confortable, air conditioning was effective and silent. The wifi had good signal strength, and was quite fast as well. In the afternoon we enjoyed the pool very much. The restaurant provided really good food. Try the Maluku burger! Breakfast was also superb with a lots of choices. And the most important: the staff was really helpful and friendly!

We stayed here for two nights and really loved it. The staff is really nice although they don't speak English, so it was hard to communicate properly with them but google translate knows everything. Great hotel if you want a nice and comfortable room for a change, we had been islandhopping for some time so this was luxurious. If you need to stay in Ambon because of a flight you need to catch the next day for example, this is the place to be. The breakfast was very nice as well. We would definitely stay here again.
