A peaceful and pleasant resort on the best side of the island!”

My stay at Privacy Resort was a pleasant and peaceful experience. Located on the east side of Koh Chang, it may feel a little ‘out of the way’ if you’ve never been to Koh Chang before, but trust me, this side of the island is absolutely amazing and you’d be nuts to come all the way here and then miss it. All transfers to and from Privacy Resort were organised by the owners, and they have a booking arrangement with Seahorse Tours, who I used to get to and from the Island from Bangkok and who were very professional. Grab a motorcycle and go exploring from this resort, and have the time of your life! Helpful hint: there’s an awesome coffee shop within walking distance who brew using their own farm coffee bean fruits. One of the best coffee experiences I’ve had! The staff are extremely friendly, and I felt well taken-care of. Recommended.

Nice Resort with really great Service”

Located at the more quiet part of the island, the privacy resort offers optimal conditions for recreation. To reach Koh Chang's hot spots scooters of good quality are available for reasonable prices. The owners Lilly and Steve as well as their staff are really nice and helpful concerning any information about local activities and places to go. If you have any problems or wishes they are dedicated to help you. The breakfast is prepared fresh and of good quality. The pool invites to an early or late swimming as well as relaxing besides... All in all if you are looking for a peaceful resort with great service and won't mind to be a little distance from the center of action you won't regret booking privacy resort.

An oasis of cleanliness, peace & tranquility.”

Having stayed in many Thai hotels and resorts over the last few years I can finally post a positive review. My expectations were low to medium based on previous experiences. I was taking my elderly relatives on their 1st holiday in 27 years on the 1st week of retirement ( no pressure). This is by far the cleanest resort I have ever stayed in with fresh towels , bed clothes after 3 nights stay. No nasty smells, clean toilets and a shower with good water pressure. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with full size fridge complementary water and the cheapest mini bar I have ever experienced. Great pool, fantastic breakfast and amazing friendly staff who can't do enough to make your stay comfortable. Lilly & Steve have created a little gem away from the koh Chang madness. Can't recommend this resort enough and I'm already planning to come back soon.

Beautiful Hillside Hideaway”

Privacy Resort is a small hillside resort with spacious bungalows. It is on a jungle hillside with beautifully manicured gardens around the rooms. If you are looking for a beach-front hotel, this is not it, but the hillside setting close to the road is nice. The rooms have basic furnishings but are in superb condition - everything like new. It was super-clean and well-maintained. Breakfast choices were great - mostly western choices, but you can order Thai breakfast also. The congenial hosts were attentive and provided good suggestions on local restaurants.

Peaceful, pleasant stay with personal service”

Since this is a small resort, Heiko and his wife were able to provide many services that made our trip much better. The first night we arrived they had a BBQ dinner with plenty of delicious food, and breakfast was provided every morning that included fried or scrambled eggs, and a selection of bread, ham, cheese, jam and tropical fruits. We also had pancakes one morning. We very much enjoyed the exclusive feeling of being in a small resort and got to know the other guests as well. Heiko also organizes small trips for guests — we went on a day trip on a boat to visit nearby islands and snorkel, then he drove us to the West coast for shopping and a nice dinner on the beach. Heiko and his wife also helped to drive us to the ferry terminal and back for a small fee, much less than what the taxis charge, which was very helpful as taxis are also difficult to find on this side of the island. The resort is located on the west coast, about 30-45 mins from the other side where most of the resorts, beaches and people are. This has the advantage of privacy and we got to explore more of the rustic and untouched parts of Koh Chang on a scooter, including a beach that was populated with much fewer people. The one downside was that the wifi wasn't very fast, though this was of little concern to us as it made us focus on enjoying the island even more. Overall, a fantastic stay and I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Nice stay in a little, quiet and special resort”

Heiko and Nerisa are perfect hosts. Since the resort is located in the eastern cost of Koh Chang and away from 'trouble', Heiko takes all days all the guests in his pickup to shopping/massage and in good local restaurants. That makes a very good ambience and after one day you may feel like in a group of friends...I had a nice Chrismas'eve with them... And when I had a little problem with the scooter, Heiko assisted me as much he could, I thank him again... I recommand warmly this resort.

Best Stay on Koh Chang”

Steve and Lilli, thanks so much for having us. we loved the place and felt really comfy. Sad we couldn't extend our holiday at yours. the east coast is very quiet in compare to the west, so easy driving with the scooters and the beaches are lonley (not lonley beach) The Bungalows are very nice and clean, and you can also go for a nice swim in the pool or can sit outside your bungalow on the bench and relax. 100 meters before the privacy resort is a nice coffe place, were i hadthe best coffee in thailand, it's called บ้านกาแฟ @ เกาะช้าง in thai :) And also steve can tell you a lot about the island and what to do (like we did the walking tracks trough some waterfalls and one to the Wai Cheak Beach. Was so Good, Thank you both!!!

Stay on the quieter side!”

Steve and Lily where where great hosts, continuously helping us plan out or stay on the island. When needing to organize kayaking, snorkeling or the like, speak to them first. The resort is not on the beach, but is nestled away int he forest: Quiet and relaxing. Much better value than on the other side of the island, unless you are wanting to drink lots and crawl to bed, or only lounge on the beach all day. Rooms tidy and well maintained. The pool a little oasis in the heat. views of the sea, birds in the trees, only 8 or so bungalows, so not over crowded and noisy, lots of space. You will need to hire a car (just talk to Steve) or scooters. But in IMHO it is well worth it. This site of the island is far more picturesque and calming, with lots to do, see and eat. (ask about the waterfalls). The beaches on the other side of the island are about 25 mins drive away, so you can get to these easily. Steve and Lily have recently taken over this resort. this shows in how they have modernized the resort and their commitment to your enjoyment. Highly recommended! o

A Great Escape”

The thing that attracted me to this resort was the other guests comments about how friendly and hospitable the owner and his wife were and we were not disappointed. Heiko and Narissa go out of their way to ensure you really have an enjoyable and memorable visit - no request is too much for them and from collection by Heiko at the ferry to daily outings to local restaurants they are there to ensure you have a great time. Heiko took all the guests one day in his pickup to the other side of the island where we saw the well trodden tourist path - 10 mins was enough to realise we had made the right decision by choosing his resort on the "quiet" side - away from the package groups who flock to the more popular beaches like lemmings. Heiko attention to your needs allows you to experience the island from a local perspective and to explore the quiet and secluded spots the island has to afford. I would highly recommend this resort ( unless you wish to party with the masses ) and will have no hesitation in returning.

Lovely stay on the quieter eastern side”

As others have said this is a great spot to get away from it all. Heiko and Nerisa are awesome hosts with plenty of useful information about the eastern side of the island. The east coast is nice if you want to explore the island itself a bit more. Not too far away is long beach which was almost deserted apart from a few guests staying at the bungalows there, food and drinks are available from that resort too (I can't remember the name). It's good to get out on a motorbike and explore the different areas that haven't been overly developed yet. There were several restaurants on the east side catering to the locals which served some of the best food we had in Thailand. Whilst the roads on this side of the Island are much quieter, to get to some of the interesting areas such as the waterfall (bring insect repellent) and beaches, you need to be reasonably competent on a scooter. There were three taxis from the ferry port a day down all the way to the seafood restaurant on the map as I remember. They left at 11.00, 13.00 and 15.00 maybe, so it's not as hard to get to as you might think. All in all, great stay. Breakfast was good and we were even lucky enough to have a BBQ one night!

Perfect for a quite holiday!”

The resort is located on the main road on a quiet side of the island, just about 10 minutes away (by bike) from Long Beach (Salak Petch area). It's owned by a lovely couple, Khun Steve and Khun Lilly. They're the best host ever! Greatly helpful and flexible. We had a 2 nights stay here. The room was in a perfect condition, quiet air-con, real bed, pretty spacious for its price. The rooms are separated from each other like a small house with swimming pool in front. They clean it everyday as well. There's also a small coffee shop near by the resort, which they serve a really nice coffee grown from here.Also, if you need a car to get around the island, the resort can arrange it for you for 1,100 baht/ one full day. We got a 4-wheel truck and I think it's worth it if you want to drive to the other end of this island for sight-seeing/ party/ etc. with lots of curves, including the 90 degree ones. So glad we found this place and we'll definitely come back!

A very peaceful escape, lovely simple accommodation in forest setting; huge amount of laughter with Heiko, Nerisa and other residents particularly on our evening sorties to local restaurants in Heiko's bucky followed by a few beverages under the stars back at the resort. A lovely inclusive experience for a solo traveller.

Best Value in Koh Chang”

Extremely friendly and helpful staff and owners. We originally booked for 2 nights and stayed 9. We got the best of the Islands beauty and still had the good food. The location is on the quiet side on the island. A visit to the local coffee shop where they grow their own coffee is a must. The room was spotless, bed excellent ( all new mattresses ) and breakfast very good. We fished most days on the two local piers of which you can drive your vehicle out on and always caught fish. A nice place for a quiet stay”

The resort is small and the seven bungalows are very beautiful. The place is peaceful, far away from the crowd, maybe too much... The staff is very helpful.

Amazing hosts nice and relaxing”

The host's Steve and Lilly are very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile, Steve is full of local knowledge.Transport is a must which Steve and Lilly can arranged a scooter at a reasonable cost. No restaurant on site, But with reasonable notice they might be able to cook a rice dish, as the nearest restaurant is about 2k away long walk in the sun.Resort is not suitable for disable people.This is a very quiet part of the island for relaxing. Wi-fi has a few issues at the time we stayed but the owner is aware and trying to resolve the issues. Nice swimming pool and sun loungers , rooms are clean and tidy with TV's and AC, and a fridge with a mini bar, nice breakfast but limited menu. In our opinion 3 days is enough to visit the island.

Isolated resort”

Resort located at the other side of the island and basically you can't travel out of the resort after 8pm unless you rent a car or you are daring enough to ride on the bike and spend at least 40 mins on riding on normal day! Resort don't provide and don't have ice cube when I request it for my beer!!!! My suggestion to the resort: since the location is so extreme far from the Centrepoint jetty, please kindly provide free pick-up and return to the jetty instead of charging THB500 for each way!!!!

Quiet place to stay”

nice bungalow and good breakfast. Very quite place. You definitely need a car or scooter as they have no restaurant and serve breakfast only. Everything is too far away for walking. Next supermarket is miles away. If you like it quiet and lonely its a good place.
