Exceptional”

Stayed at the Orchidacea Resort for 2 weeks . 21 Feb to 7 March. We were upgraded to a superior room but due to the noise from the road outside and the poor view we asked to change rooms. They were very accommodating and although we went back down to a standard room the view was much better and the noise was much less. The staff were very polite and courteous and the breakfast was good. The only downside is the amount of steps you had to climb to get to your room but apart from that we had a great time especially because it is located close to 2 amazing beaches. I preferred Kata Nio beach which was small but had a great beach restaurant.

Great location and good value for money”

My partner and I stayed at Orchidacea for a total of 6 nights. The accommodation is within walking distance of Kata Beach and Kata Noi Beach. It is also close to mini marts, restaurants and money exchanges. The pool was a lovely temperature and big enough to accommodate the variety of guests. There were 2 stand out staff members that we want to acknowledge - Marko at reception and the security guard at the front of the back end of the resort. We made 3 separate bookings throughout our stay and Marko made sure that we kept the same room to avoid us having to move in and out. The security guard was always cheery and made sure we were safe when exiting onto the main road. The only cons we have are - on a windy day the screen doors were rattling which kept us up one night. The beds are very firm. There are a lot of stairs! And at times there was a sewerage smell passing through the room (we think it came from the aircon).

Good hotel with all what you need”

This is really good hotel with all necessary amenities you need for your vacation for solo, family or group travel. Staff is very customer oriented, what is confirmed by willingness and fast response to issues you have -- it appeared that our bill was overcharged for the extra bed we had in our room. Even thou that reception had my signatures for this overcharge, without any delay or unnecessary questions it was solved by Angie, Front office manager. Another night we found zillion of ants in our room, but well-coordinated work of housekeeping allowed them to remove all insects from our room within one hour and after that we haven't seen any. Many thanks for that! Location of the hotel -- it is about one hour from the airport (approx. 60 kms), what is quite far after having 7 hour flight. Another concern is that some of hotel buildings are located too close to the road and in the night time you will be disturbed by motorbikes or other vehicles, so if you are sensitive sleeper request for the quite room upon reserving. But all of this is greatly compensated by easy access to Kata and Kata Noi beaches. As Kata becomes very crowded in the day time we preferred Kata Noi instead, which is 15 minutes by walk or 5 minutes by complimentary hotel shuttle and this beach is very picturesque, tranquil and clean beach. Another advantage is that hotel is not situated in crowded place, but still has everything by short walk from it -- great variety of restaurants, bars, massage salons and different kind of shops, and a bus station. Overall this hotel has all what you need -- restaurants, swimming pool, GYM and etc, but what makes people happy is outstanding customer service. I would definitely recommend this hotel for future travels!

Stairway to Heaven”

This resort has exceeded my expectations...yes there are stairs but any resort built into the side of a mountain has them. The views are totally worth the climb. Our room had the most incredible view of Kata beach and surrounding area. The breakfast is excellent, a very good variety of foods and I recommend to include it with your room booking. Cattleya Restaurant at the resort is outstanding with the best Thai food around (bar street food options) and Monday and Friday night there is live music which is a bonus. Happy hour must be mentioned...buy 1 get 1 free is great value for money on already very affordable prices. The rooms are pleasant, very comfortable bed and the entire resort is clean. The location of this resort to beaches, restaurants, shops, markets and bars is terrific and within walking distance. An extremely enjoyable stay.

Nice Surprise”

I booked this at the last minute as I was already staying at another place in Kata Beach. Wow! The View! You can’t get much better than that from the room I was in. I believe I was level 6 or so up the hill. Once you get into your room you can see all of Kata beach below you. No reason for first night to head downhill for dinner. I couldn’t get abetted view so ordered room service. The room is very clean, bed is comfortable, restaurant prices reaso Staff very professional. I didn’t swim in their pool but it looked very nice and seemed popular. Kata beach noi is only a five minute walk from there if you know where to turn left. They also offer a free shuttle to the larger Kata beach. The only thing. If you have any physical disadvantages or are senior, the top floors are very high (also not an issue, as they have free shuttle to and from your room and/or beach) But as most do climb the stairs, If you stay a week, you’ll be in much better shape than when you arrived 😀😀

Great hotel, with helpful service ”

We really had an amazing time at Orchidacea Resort. It is the perfect location. About 2 minutes from Kata Yai and maybe 8 minutes from Kata Noi walking. The rooms were always immaculate and cleaned very frequently. I don't have much negative to say about this place. The internet service was really poor, but do you really need internet on holiday??

Friendly boutique hotel with a great view”

Orchidacea was an excellent choice for our holidays in Phuket. The staff were very cordial and attentive to our needs. We planned to stay for 6 nights on their Superior Room but asked for an upgrade that was MUCH better: we paid 3,000 baht (around US$100) for the upgrade in total and got an excellent view of Kata Beach. The hotel is a 5-min walk from Kata Beach, and a 10-min walk from -even nicer- Kata Noi Beach. The hotel offers the warmth of a small boutique hotel and it felt very cozy.

Big rooms, friendly staff, near the beach”

Me and my girlfriend first stayed here for one night before leaving to another location for a three night trip. For the one night, we just booked a standard room but were updated to their BEST suite because of the mix up at the booking. Nothing to wine about there. We were able to leave our luggage there for three days until we were back. Then we got the Deluxe room we booked. Room number 628. Numbers from 620 are the lower Deluxe rooms, 630's a store higher, and 640 the highest. But view to Kata beach was great even from our balcony so the floor the room is in isnt really an issue I think. The lower the room, lesser the walk up. Wich is by the way hugely eggaturated. Normal healthy people have no problems with the 20-30 steps up. Only problem with the room was that toilet got stuck a few times which was a bit annoying but didnt ruin our stay. Maybe youre not suppose to throw paper in there (it doesnt say so anywhere). It was very clean and new. No insects or mosquitos. To Kata beach is like a 3-4 min walk. Ska bar on that side of the Kata beach was great as is Thai food right next to it. Recommended.

Great Value ”

As a couple we have traveled several times throughout Thailand from North to South and always stayed in multiple accommodation. This time we decided to base ourselves in one hotel for the week as we were on vacation with family and friends. Orchidacea was a quiet location within a 5/10 min walk to the beach,shops, restaurants and bars and from 400-550 Bht each way to Karon or Patong beaches. Just be mindful that there are quite a lot of stairs from the main reception to the rooms. My mum slipped on her way down one evening as they were very wet. The entire resort was very clean and Breakfast was fabulous every day. The guys at the pool bar are lovely but I am going to send them some another CD, the same one every day became a bit much.

Perfect environment to relax our mind, body & soul”

We opt for Orchidacea Resort that is located at Kata due to the location which is further than Patong area, which is jam packed with tourist. At this resort, we can relax our mind, body and soul without the crowd. Also, the room in this resort is clean. Not forgetting, the pool is clean and the gym is great!

We checked in at around 0:00 and staff was friendly. We are surprised by the ocean view, large room as well as wide sky we enjoyed on balcony, especially with this pay. It's really a worth deal! The swimming pool is big and nice. I think it also fit for family guests cuz I saw a family with two kids having mush fun in the pool. Flowers and woods in garden made you forget the noise in the city. There were some comments about the steps of this resort when I booked this room, which had brought us some concerns. After I got there, I totally don't think it's any problem for young people. Above all, I will definitely come back. It's the 1st recommended hotel/resort compared to 4 hotel/resort I have stayed in Phuket. We should have stayed in it for our whole vocation.

Pleasantly surprised- nice hotel in good location”

We were pleasantly surprised with Orchidacea. The hotel is situated on a steep hill, however it is not difficult getting to the hotel. The beach is a 5 minute walk away which has a great beach bar and other resorts. We loved staying at Kata beach as it was no where near as hectic and touristy as Pattong. Kata beach is great if you want to chill out. The room was very spacious and clean, breakfast was also very nice.

Great value for the money, helpful staff”

Our stay at Orchidacea was pleasant! The staff spoke superb english and were friendly and helpful in arranging a boat tour for us.. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes. The wifi room was useful and cheap if you wnated o pay for room access to wifi. This hotel is not recommended for those who cannot handle a lot of steps to their room. It is only a short walk to the beach, but requires a lot of stairs. It was fine for us as we are a young couple. Areas for improvement: room decor is basic / could lighten up the room a bit and clean the awning overhang on the balcony as it affects the view, other than that, it met all of our needs.

We loved the Orchidea Hotel”

The Orchidea was a great find. The rooms was gorgeous and private. Hotel grounds were spread out And the pool was nice. We were only at the hotel for one night and flew out to Bangkok early in the morning . We enjoyed Orchidea so much we contimplated extending our trip in Kata Beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in all rooms . The meal was great. The hotel was a short walk to downtown and the beach. All in all a great place.

Great price value in Kata beach”

A Really nice resort , 5 minutes walk to Kata beach, with nice and clean rooms, and a great pool. book the sea view rooms for a better stay and enjoy their lovely balcony. Note the number of stairs since the hotel is built on an up hill ,but totally worth it if you fit for the challenge.

Value for money”

This hotel is ideally situated at the south end of Kata beach, where it is quieter, and provides close proximity to Kata Noi beach, which in my opinion is the better one in the area less busy). We only had breakfast in the hotel, which was plentiful and varied. The shops at this side of the Kaata Beach appeared cheaper than at the centrre, which was only a 10 minute walk away. Im not convinced I could request an improvement based on our wants and needs and I would definately return to this hotel if in the area once more.

Great hotel, excellent service ”

Marko from reception was absolutely wonderful and he went above and beyond with his customer service to esure we had a pleasant stay. We were complimentary upgraded to a premium suite which was lovely. The suite had a separate living room and the bedroom was separate. The bed was a four poster king size bed and was very comfortable. The room comes with all basic amenities including shower gel, soap, shower gel and complimentary water. Breakfast had a good variety of food however the vegetarian/vegan options were limited (vegan- potatoes/tomatoes/ toast/ beans/salad). Customer service was good and staff were helpful friendly and welcoming. Pool area was nice and overlooks kata beach. Gym is a little small and basic. The hotel is a 10 min walk to kata noi becah and 5 min walk to kata. Beach. Its a 10 min walk to the main street in kata and approx 20 -25 min walk to the night market. Overall, this hotel and service exceeded expectations, we had a great stay and i would definitely reco

Fantastic stay”

Beautiful hotel, very green and clean. We stayed her for a week with our 11 month old and am glad that we did. Neat, big and very comfortable room. The staff are always smiling and helping. Breakfast was nice. Restaurant seemed a bit overpriced but hotel is close to good restaurants so we didn't have any complaints. They have a decent size swimming pool and a small pool for children. Also the beach is at a walkable distance from hotel. I was a bit nervous about choosing this hotel after I read a few comments about insects and mosquitoes but realised that Thailand being a tropical country will have insects. Hotel is very clean, these insects and mosquitoes like warm climate. That is all. We carried anti mosquito cream. All in all, good stay. Would like to stay here again if we traveled to Phuket again. Oh, for the people who have only dealt with first world problems- wi fi in our signal was weak. Although it didn't bother us because we were on a holiday.

The hotel is located near Kata beach, aroun 10 mins to the beach by walk. Standard room is little bit small so we chose to upgrade at last. The receiption, Christine is very nice and patiente. Next time, we will come back again.
