There are also some temple-stays available at Chuncheon-si. Place of interests include Soyanggang Dam, Gangchon Rail Park, Chuncheon Makguksu Museum, Eco villages. One can also enjoy outdoor activities like paragliding, bunjee jump here. Chuncheon is easily accessible by ITX (Intercity Express) Cheongchun line from various stations in Seoul(Yongsan - the terminal station, Oksu, Wangsimni etc.).

May I recommend that staff at information desk located at chuncheon station should be versatile in English language since tourists flock in there to ask many inquiries about details of city tour, in that way, everything will be clear . Also the tour guide shld also speak English to explain the details of the tour sites visited. We did not understand a thing abt what the guide was talking about during our tour

But it is well worth a visit and also an overnight stay. It is about 40 minutes from the beautiful Nami island, which is a great place for pictures and leisurely stroll. The barbecued chicken is also yummy. The "Barbecued Chicken Street", where restaurants serving the regional dish flourish, is only 5 minutes away from the Chuncheon Tourist Hotel where we stayed.

People here is also friendly to foreigners.

Would suit all age groups, although especially walkers/hikers would be in their element. Own transport would be an advantage, because of the distances to other attractions or places of interest.

One of the cheapest ways to get around the City is by bus, first purchase a transit card, sold at varying places, bus stations and train stations, cost 2500 Won, you then have to charge up the card, we found this was easily done at any train station. Then away you go, within the city it is a flat fee of 1200 won to go anywhere. Failing that there are millions of taxis, minimum fare 2200 won.
