Staff are friendly, facilities are all available. Only bad thing is the cleanliness, there was a bit of smoke smell, and one of the towels have a worm crawling inside. It feels that the room that we were given had not been occupied for some time.

Worth the price”
The price is not high, so there is not much to ask. It's not near the downtown, so it might take quite a time to travel. In return, it is near the train and bus station, so you can easily travel. One good thing is this hotel is really safe. I forgot to pull out the key and left it outside the whole night, but nothing happened to me and my friend that night. Luckily :)

We were happy for the location of this hotel... Its near the mrt and that time there was a taichung station tsum2 lighting display... On our first night we were almost hitted by a taxi ( hatchback type ) and stop right infront of us and not even a sorry from the cab driver for almost hitting us and over speeding on a one way intersection street ( around 70-80kmph speed) ... Anyways... We asked help from the front office.. at first she wanted to help but when she knew that the cab got away... She insisted not to help anymore.... Not even a cctv footage of inform the police... Anyways... With out biased... The room was uncleaned... Hairs from the previous clients was all over the room and bathroom floor ...

First time to try this and so disappointed. Most area so dirty. WiFi super slow and weak of signal but the front desk staff not allow to change. Personal drawer lock are very unsafety

The Moon Lake is not fancy - just a decent, more than adequate (for my needs) hotel, nicely situated in the "restaurant district" of Taichung. The hotel is also close to the "regular" train (not High Speed Rail) station. It is also close to the long distance bus station. The room was adequate - clean and quiet - no problems sleeping. Breakfast was okay: steamed or stir-fried vegetables, congee, coffee/tea. The hotel staff were excellent: I needed a taxi to get out to a remote location in the foothills east of the city. Not only was the cab arranged, the front desk staff went out of their way to explain to the cab driver where I needed to go and how best to get there. Apparently, the location is somewhat remote, making the route there, "non routine". Front desk staff printed out driving directions using Googlemap that filled up 3 pages! Cab driver got lost after the 10th step and had to stop frequently to ask people in shops and street corners for more precise directions. ( After wandering all over hell and half of Georgia, I got to my destination!)

Comfortable at an affordable price”
Had a quad room w/ window (tiny window and no view) which is quite spacious - we had 4 luggage opened up and all over the floor yet enough room to walk about. Just 3min walk away from Taichung Gancheng Station which is the Nantou Bus Company - buses to CingJing, Sun Moon Lake etc. Breakfast is good, quite a variety about 10 choices of the typical chinese breakfast - pickles, vege, noodle, porridge etc w/ coffee, tea and soy milk. The only thing that can improve our stay significantly was to add more lights and power point in the room which were seriously lacking. We also used their washer and dryer located on 1st floor beside the lift, overall was an good stay for the price we definitely can't complain.

Satisfactory experience”
I enjoyed staying here. The staff was very friendly. The facility in the room was much more than expected. The hotel's location is very close to Nancheng bus station (the station of buses to Sun Moon Lake and Jingxing Sheep Farm). Strongly recommended to those who are about to visit Taichung.

Clean, new, hotel with great staff performance”
The front desk's ever lasting presence spoke and understood good English. She is superb. We were given a room that is for disabled traveler. Since my husband is now in a wheelchair and walker, that helped a lot. The rooms are filled with nonfunctional, modern looking crappy furniture. But the hotel is new and everything actually works till now. Including the wifi, and hot water. As usual, there is nothing to do to confront the winter chill. There is air conditioner but no heater in any of the hotels we stayed in 17 days all over the island. Breakfast is usual with non-drinkable coffee. Great location for Sun-Moon Lake bus, a night market, lots of food, train station and banks. Great price to quality ratio and I will stick to my rating due to its wonderful staff. Just ask and you will get it. Yes, our phone rang a few times at night when other guests were calling thinking we are the front desk. Enjoy the hospitality of the incredibly kind Taiwanese and you will have a great time.

Strategic Hotel in Taichung City”
Moon Lake Hotel located very strategic in Taichung city, near to Taichung Railway Station (common train station,not the HSR Station) approximately 10 minutes walk and Gancheng Bus terminal (bus to&from Sun Moon Lake and other cities) approximately 5 minutes walk. The facilites was quite standard, breakfast also standard. Bedroom and bathroom both quite clean but small. The staff also polite and made express check in and check out process.

Good price. Nice location. Friendly staffs - some of them speak English well. Clean room. Good sanitary facilities: brush, soap, shampoo, towels, toothbrush, hair dryer. Free drinking in rooms: tea bag, coffee, pure water. Have small fridge and kettle. Near public transports and shuttle bus to Sun Moon Lake, you can walk to bus station easily. Very quiet. Free breakfast.

Is a pleasant stay at Moon lake Hotel. Breakfast offer is good than what i expected. Surely will back for stay next time ^^ keep it on! Oh ya, for those who wanna take bus to cing jing, sun moon lake... this hotel is just one street away from those bus operator..super near! and yet is still walking distance to taichung train station ( like 3 or 4 street away)... recommended~!

Worth for Money”
Very strategic location. It is 10 minutes walk to the Tai Chung Bus Terminal where you can take buses to Taipei Main Station, Taoyuan Airport etc. Besides, it is within 5 minutes walk to Nantou Bus Station where you can take bus to Sun Moon Lake, Xitou Monster Village etc. Friendly staff that attentively explaining nearby attractions, food etc. to us. The breakfast provided is better than we expected with various choices.

Comfortable Stay”
This was my second time staying at this hotel. Since it was my second time, I found my way easily. It's located near the Station anyway and it wouldn't be hard for first time travellers to find there anyway. Staff were a bit different members but they were professional and helpful the same as last time. The girl even printed out the time table for me when I asked her about buses from Taichung to Taoyuan International Airport. Breakfast was super as I enjoyed this type of Chinese style dining. Staff working in the dining hall were nice people too. Room was clean, but the only short coming was that the room was a bit too dark even if you turned on all the lights. Possibly this was because it was a no-window room, but still, they could have put a brighter ceiling light or maybe even a lamp would do. Overall, it was good and I will go back when I go to Taichung again in October and January.
