beautiful hotel & grounds”

This was our second stay at the Moevenpick Karon but this time as honeymooners, the staff were brilliant! They made the room up in that extra special way that only the Thais can do. I have been visting Phuket for over 15 years and have stayed at many resorts over this time of varying classes, quality, and price. The Moevenpick just ticks all the right boxes and gives you that feel good factor from the moment you arrive. Try to avoid Christmas as prices sky rocket and it does get busier, although at this time there are much more families visiting with children who tend to congregate around the main pool area, here there is plenty of child entertainment, water slide etc., but more importantly a dip in pool bar for those thirsty parents to sit at and watch the kids play! For the couples such as ourselves, I can highly recommend the coconut pool, and if you can stretch your budget get one of the Deluxe Garden Villas close by which surround this pool area. There are other villas further afield in the grounds but unless you want complete isolation from other guests I would personally advise you avoid these, but each to his or her own, i'm sure many people like the isolation. Friends of ours stayed in the Family rooms which are also great with plenty of things for kids to do. Get out on the strip and eat in the restaurants, I can highly recommend the Red Onion after eating there a few times, it's cheap compared to others in the area but you may have to queue for 10 mins for a table but it's worth it, the duck was lovely!

Extremely good property with a perfect location.”

We have just got back from our 2 week visit to Thailand with my wife. During the Phuket leg of the visit, we ended up staying at Moevenpick Villas in Karon Beach. Loved the property, well maintained grounds, spacious villas, attentive staff, diverse selection on the buffet breakfast (western as well as eastern items with variety of fresh tropical fruits). The ease of access through the beach road to the other beaches like Kata, Kata Noi, Patong is a huge plus.

very good for little kids and family”

It was a very pleasant vocation in Movenpick. Our child is only 16 months. We didn't go to many places, but most time spending in the hotel. The Garden view villa is close to coconut pool. You can enjoy the birds sing and trees whispering. The breakfast is very good, even 16 months baby can eat some suitable food, like plain

Perfect hotel, well located in Karon beach”

Moevenpick is the best hotel at Karon beach. The plunge pool villa is charming, in a quiet place. Comfortable and clean. The breakfast is excellent.

Short stay”

A quick trip to Phuket was complimented by the Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Garden Villa was nice. The grounds had a natural calm ambience. Very relaxing. Shame it's not directly on the beach.

Too big and medium service”

We booked a plunge pool villa and when we got there the room was really dark and water was dropping down from the upstairs plunge pool into ours. We got an upgrade to one of the upstairs pool villas which was much better. Still the plunge pool was ice cold and the water dirty since the circulation didnt work (they are supposed to be overflowing). When we mentioned it at reception the only reply was that we shouldn't complain since we got an upgrade. Humm...not sure if that's the way to deal with this since the villas are not cheap in general and I expected a better service. Overall the resort is just too big, there are hundreds of people at breakfast in the morning. If you don't mind this then this is a good place to stay at Karon Beach. Good breakfast buffet. On checkout it was raining like crazy and the staff was really helpful to help us stay relatively when driving in the golf buggy to reception. All in all I would say this is an average resort. We didn't use the pool or other amenities.

it should be the best hotel in Kata beach”

The Villa garden on the first is too wet to stay, unless turn on the air condition whole day but it would be too cold for child, then we moved and upgraded to apartment nearly beach. The apartment is realy good for family, easy to reach beach and local restaurant, I stong recommend that to stay in apartment if you are family tour

Exceptional service quality! Truly 5 star!”

So far, one of the best resort hotels I have ever stayed in. From check in to check out, all my requests were attended to with a smile. Very competent team with strong customer service values instilled. Cold towel and tea served at check in signifies the kind of keen attention to detail this hotel has. Although I am a vegetarian and I couldn't enjoy most of the food, the kitchen staff always ensured that there was something prepared even though it's not on the menu. Loved the resort and enjoyed my stay very much! Will definitely return and recommend others to experience it for themselves. Oh, and the beach was outstanding! Quiet and much cleaner compared to Patong or Kata beach.

Great Resort”

We stayed for 5 days in mid Oct 2014 in a plunge pool villa. big and nicely decorated room with a terrace for the pool that was full of insects. free WiFi in the rooms was organised and it worked very well at good speeds. The breakfast has a variety of items but the taste was not that good, the gardens were beautifully kept and the pools were immaculate, clean and clear. the live Thai music in the lobby each day was beautiful - a really nice touch. The stuff were polite, tidy, well groomed and treated us as a customers. Overall, we feel that the location is great for anyone looking for a quite location that not much far from Patong, there are lots of dining options a short walk away and the resort is relaxing and in beautiful condition.

nice resort hotel but room over-rated”

This was a nice resort hotel with great pool areas & restaurants. The position was quiet compared to Patong beach & an easy 15 min taxi ride away.The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Excellent hotel for families. As for our room,it was far from the advertised "Penthouse plunge pool villa". Villa indicates a stand-alone dwelling. Penthouse plunge pool indicates more than a stairway to a cold uninviting bathtub sized pool that we never used.

Great resort with nice villas”

I was very satisfied with the resort! The deluxe garden villa room was spacious and the bathroom is huge. We had nightly turndown service where you'll get ice and an orchid on your bed. Restaurants at the resort are good. Slitly pricey but not bad for a resort. We booked a day trip for scuba diving thru the resort and it was fantastic. I would stay at this resort again!!

Very good”

We booked a garden view villa and a plunge villa. After booking, we sent an email to the hotel (two months before our arrivals) and asked if they could arrange two villas that are closed to each other. However, when we arrived, they show us two villas far away and offer us to upgrade one villa to be closer. We still paid to upgrade NOT just because the garden villa is far away but it also is very different from the picture on Agoda. There is no garden view at all. In the picture, it has a nice garden view and terrace connected to the swimming pool. However, the room shown to us has no garden view or no view at all. We feel really uncomfortable. They offer the upgrade because we sent email in the advancement and they knew what we would like to have. And if the room has no garden view or no view, it should not be called as a garden view on Agoda and the picture provided is misleading.

Beautiful surroundings great family pool,comfortable rooms, plenty variety of delicious food for breakfasts ,walking distance outside to beach overroad, ate once in hotel restaurant meal ok although a little expensive. much cheaper and tasty restaurants without the frills outside of hotel ,worth a look at night markets for tastyThia snacks cooked in front of you 10min walking distance

Exceptional”

The resort is AWESOME and extremely beautiful very well kept. I rented a Villa we had one major issue the bathtub would not hold water. We complained 3 times and received a letter on our door informing us our hot water was working fine????? Our comp,ain't was never about hot water!

Great location but not the best hotel”

Stayed in penthouse plunge pool villa but would not recommend paying extra for a plunge pool as it is smaller than a jacuzzi. In fact the bath was bigger! The room was rather tired. It needs modernizing. Located right on the beach with was a plus. The gym was large but rather empty. Loved the coconut pool. In the evenings the restaurants were empty so lacked atmosphere. I think this is a great hotel for families and many package holiday makers were staying here.

Expensive, overrated, small rooms, family friendly”

Compared to other hotels, the Movenpick is over rated. The beach is not clean and small. The rooms are small with no views.Would not pay the amount again. Boutique hotels in area offer much more. Loads of families. Restaurant refused to serve us food at 10:00pm even though it states till 11.

5 Star hotel with 1 Star customer management”

We had a very bad experience which was related to a problem with our villa. It took 5 days to fix and spoiled our vacation due to that ongoing engagement in trying to get the problem fixed as well as the impact of having the problem ongoing. We spent two times per day and at least 1 hour each time. All other 5 star hotel would have sent the GM of the hotel and managed the customer. Moevenpick did not once having the GM to see us. We recognized the local staff and customer mgt team on lower level who really tried their best. My previous experience having similar issue have been managed in a completely different ways including the compensation part towards the customer.

the food was just amazing anywhere in the hotel, and the service was just so friendly and efficient.i cant say a bad thing about it.
