I can definitely recommend Lumbini Garden Lodge. It’s fairly quiet, in a good location for visiting the temples associated with Buddha’s birthplace, and is nearbye to the best pure vegetarian restaurant Sat Saheb. But what marks this out as the best place to stay is the extremely helpful, friendly, laid-back, well-informed generosity of the owner, Shankar Prasad Mallah. He is a gem of a person.
