Exceptional”
The Lake Pichola Hotel is a wonderful and classic courtyard hotel with an unmatched view over the lake and the City Palace. Old world elegance blends with all modern amenities. I enjoyed an enormous suite with high ceilings, wrap-around windows, antique furniture, marble bath, and breathtaking views. Everything in the hotel is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The hotel's technology worked well except wifi which was a challenge throughout my stay. The location couldn't be better since it is a short and scenic walk to the palace through medieval streets lined with shops and cafes. The hotel has a waterfront balcony on the ground floor for drinks and snacks as well as a spectacular open-air rooftop restaurant providing a panoramic view. The food in the restaurant is superb...spicy and authentic. Service in the hotel is friendly, although it may be necessary to be insistent if deficiencies are not corrected in a reasonable time. The high-ceilinged ground floor reception and breakfast area is a very comfortable place to relax. The rooftop pool is minuscule and it has no real lounging area. Unlike some other luxury hotels, I appreciated that this one will arrange tours and transportation at reasonable cost. I have stayed previously at the Taj Lake Palace, and while the Lake Pichola can't match it's polish or refinement, it will get my repeat business because of its charm, authenticity, luxury, beauty, location and views at a fraction of the cost.

Great Atmosphere”
We stayed for 4 nights. While my husband attended a conference, I had relaxing days beside the lake. Our room had a veranda looking out over the lake where I read books and drank coffee. Their room service was prompt and always polite. The room was cleaned daily. We enjoyed the bath tub and shower. Upon request, we were furnished an electrical adapter, hair dryer, and iron. Each day, we received at least one complimentary bottle of water. In other cities, we had stayed in hotels in the same price range that were not nearly as nice. The roof top restaurant, UPRE 1559, had good food and wine, good service, and excellent atmosphere overlooking Pichola Lake. The buffet breakfast was served in the lobby and was hot and sufficient to start the day. All the staff were helpful and very friendly. We even met the owner and his family. At the time, he and his family were dressed formally to attend a wedding. Before they left that evening, they stopped and took time to speak with us. Just outside the hotel entrance, there are travel agents and rickshaw drivers. We spent several days with one rickshaw driver that the hotel recommended. The driver helped us navigate the Udaipur markets and tourist sites. We highly recommend this hotel. It has a peaceful charm, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Charming hotel, best location”
Staying at Lake Pichola Hotel adds to the quaint charm of exploring this heritage city. It makes sense to stay here as the hotel is away from the noisy areas. It takes just 5 minutes to cross the bridge, and you will find yourself amidst the buzz. The hotel is prettily adorned with bright bougainvilleas and lots of greenery. While its restaurant, Upre, is super-popular (reservations even for guests), the highlight for us was having meals on the verandah by the lake. Idyllic. The service, though, is quite slow. The Laal Maas here was fantastic, certainly better than the one at Ambrai – a fancy restaurant nearby - which was too salty and laden with oil and also overpriced. Barring the Laal Maas, however, we found the food pretty average and quite overpriced. Guess one is paying for the ambience - Upre has a lovely romantic setting for dinner. And you'd be lucky if the moon is out too. Easily the best view in town. Our standard room was very spacious and clean and good value for money. It helps when there's a spot to keep all your stuff. A bulb in one ceiling lamp kept going on and off. Housekeeping even saw that, but didn't return to fix it. Our quilt was not quite ok; they were unable to arrange for a proper one. But had promptly sent singles. They claim to save water, and a note in the bathroom requests guests to not put towels away to be laundered unless necessary. But the staff itself took away the towels every day, and did not keep fresh face towels until repeatedly told to do so. Porters hanging around and refusing to budge, very evidently expecting to be tipped, was a bit irritating upon check-in. They have a small spa that is independently run. Don't expect a great massage. In fact the therapists are quite rough with their hands. I suffered from a skin rash post the massage. Overall, however, we were happy with our stay at Lake Pichola Hotel. With the standard room we did not miss the view much since one can easily visit the rooftop or just step outside.

Royal, Awesome, Wonderful, Beautiful, Mind blowing Stay”
It was an awesome stay @ this hotel. Location is just fabulous just beside Lake Pichola, specially the lobby beside the lake is just fabulous...I can spend the entire day over there just by sitting in the marble sofa with beautiful cushions by the lake.... breakfast was awesome....all the staffs are so well behaved specially the manager Yogendar Ji who helped me in all possible way he can as I was a solo traveller. Hospitality of this hotel is wonderful. Rooftop restaurant is just a "big wow", splendid candle light dinner with melodious sound of live Bansuri. Rooms are very big with very old wooden decorative furnitures. Rooms and bathroom was very clean and tidy. Room service is also very good. Just one thing that need to be improved is the food quality and the price of the food is bit higher. Beside this everything was wonderful!! You will have feeling of Royal Stay in this hotel. Needless to mention the mind blowing sunset boat ride organized by the hotel. I just loved it and again I would love to stay in this hotel whenever I visit Udaipur.

the lake pichola hotel is located on lake pichola, just across a short bridge from the main tourist area of udaipur. the staff is very friendly and very helpful. the rooms look out onto the lake and across to the huge city palace complex. a full breakfast is included with the price, and the meals taken during other parts of the day and tasty and affordable. the hotel provided complimentary transport from the udaipur train station.

Stunning location, average rooms”
When we first arrived at Lake Pichola Hotel, we caught our breath at the beauty of the location. Right on the lake with a gorgeous panaorama from the downstairs lobby, rooftop restaurant and our room which had a little balcony hanging over the lake. The lobby area is also gorgeous. Designed with an old colonial feel, the room was filled with comfortable couches, floor to ceiling windows looking at the lake, antique chandeliers and, at the far end, the dining room for breakfast. The room was perfectly fine but nothing special after seeing the location and the lobby. Our bed consisted of two singles pushed together (may have been my fault in picking the wrong option on Agoda) and the mattress and pillows were a little on the hard side. The bathroom was also a little lacking in luxury with a simple design and adequate shower. Staff, however, were all wonderful. Kind, accommodating and top notch in every way (specially the lovely Mr. Singh who was the host in the downstairs restaurant). We didn't eat at the hotel, other than breakfast, so can't vouch for the food. But the location is terrific as, while it's on the lake, it is also removed from the busier part of town (on the other side) so evenings and local strolls are much quieter than on the busy side. Would I return? Yes. We're not picky in having a perfect room and the part that we'll remember most was that sensational view.

living in a dream - incredible!”
this hotel is perhaps one of the best valued hotels we stayed at in India. The balconied rooms are absolutely incredible - definitely worth the extra price. We truly felt like we were living in a dream world. The food in Udaipur was some of the best we had during our entire time in India. The town itself is incredibly charming and romantic (as far as Indian cities usually go - far less noise and chaos in udaipur) and the scenery is spectacular. I very highly recommend staying at Lake Pichola Hotel!

Great service and location”
The hotel sits on lake pichola and so you get a great view of the lake. The staff is super nice and let us check in early and even gave us a room to rest after we had checked out so we could spend our 3 hrs of wait time comfortably. The restaurant upstairs called Upre has great views and good food as well. Reserve a table next to lake for views if the city palace. The city palace and bagore ki haveli is right across the lake and is a short walk though a pedestrian bridge. The hotel is not accessible by car between 9 am and 9 pm but call the hotel and they will send a rickshaw. Overall great place to stay if you are in Udaipur

I don't believe that there could be any other Hotel with balcony n best view of the City Palace n Bagore ki Haveli around Lake Pichola. Jagdish Temple is just across with majestic view. Outer walls of this hotel are painted so well that they outstand in the crowd of several hotels around lake. Very reasonably priced rooms and Roof Top dinning is an experience in itself. To summarise our stay in one word - would like to visit Udaipur again and again to enjoy the location and hospitality of this Great Hotel!!!

Lake Pichola hotel commands a fantastic location and all rooms come with balconies. I loved our mornings in the balconies with the morning sun streaming in and the city slowly waking up. The facilities could be slightly upgraded but what it lacks in facilities, it more than makes up in service. we got excellent service througout the hotel - at breakfast, at their rooftop restaurant, reception as well as all the support staff. It will definitely be our ‘go to’ hotel when we visit Udaipur next time and I will be recommending it to all my family and friends who visit Udaipur.

Perfect hotel for couples at Lake Pichola”
We got the best lake facing view for a good price. The sit-out was my favourite part of the room. Staff was courteous and their service was quick. The hotel is centrally located to all the main tourist spots nearby. Their boat service was super easy and quick as Udaipur is undergoing smart city construction and hotel was not reachable by car. They have the best rooftop restaurant with a full view of Lake Pichola. We will definitely visit again!

Gorgeous Roof top view”
After a long car journey our arrival at Lake Pichola Hotel was welcomed. the spacious foyer was welcome after the long day in the car. The rooms are small but clean with cable TV. Our room had a lovely balcony with a view of the lake & palace. They made sure that the party of 5 had 3 room next to each other. Even though we asked for a double room our "double bed was two singles pushed together - this happens a lot in India.. The shower head needed descaling or cleaning as the spray went all over the place.This is common in India too. The water was hot & each room had it's own solar powered water heater that is turned on when you arrive. The towels were clean & smelled really fresh even if they were grey. Grey towels are commonplace in India. The breakfast options were limited-we thought we were getting a self serve continental breakfast.Not so. Toast was plentiful as was jam. There was cereal on offer. indian options were available. The coffee was one of the better indian hotel coffees during our 3 weeks India trek. One of our companions used the rooftop pool & loved it. The rooftop bar has a cocktail menu- many of the ingredients were unavailable-we couldn't get cocktails. This is common in this region.One night it was Ghandi's birthday so we had to hide the beers. Dinner on roof was good on all 3 nights. however the Chicken Korma was great the first night & average the 2nd so our group's Korma lover tried something else on night 3. The ambience & view made up for any food shortcomings. We were given free nibbles with drinks.Be early to secure a canopied day bed. The one downside was that the cleaning lady asking one of our group for money.Not as a tip but because she perceived us to be rich. This is common in India too. Naturally her request was refused but she was shocked. The hotel arranged for an 18kg to be sent home with an alternate courier-it arrived in NZ safely. Best place to stay in Udaipur”
The Lake Pichola Hotel is the heart of Udaipur, it's a beautiful heritage building right on the water facing the palace, there's a very nice restaurant on the roof and it's the perfect place to see the sun set in the evening! Mr Theelok is very accommodating and will take care of anything you require. I highly suggest asking for Guddu if you need a guide or want to make a nice friend for life, he's a very special person and in my one month traveling in India has made the trip! He can show you anything you want to see in Udaipur and more!

Amazing stay at Lake Pichola Hotel!”
I went to Udaipur for two nights with my boyfriend and our stay at Lake Pichola Hotel was one of the highlights. The lake view from our room was absolutely spectacular (completely worth the extra $$). The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. We also ate at the restaurant one evening which was quite good. The one downside was there's not a lot of hot water in the shower but it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely come here again. Very memorable stay!

We had a pleasant stay at the Lake Pichola Hotel. Our room was clean and quiet. The view of the lake from the room was pretty. The hotel is located near the center of the old city. Attractions like the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple are at a walking distance from the hotel. There are tons of good restaurants nearby. The hotel's rooftop restaurant, 'Upre', offers great food and spectacular views. Ambrai, another highly rated restaurant is at a walking distance. Above all, our stay was made delightful by the members of the hotel staff.

Lovely hotel with stunning sunrise view”
We stayed in one of the lake facing rooms (room number 110) with a balcony overlooking the Lake Pichola with a stunning sunrise view in the morning (what a great way to wake up). It feels so romantic, the room has a classic touch which perfect for honeymoon. Room is clean, quite big and comfortable for two of us. Room provided with tea/making facilities, toilettries, newspaper, fridge. This hotel has a rooftop lounge which perfect for sunset dinner or evening tea/coffee. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Udaipur.

Best hotel in Udaipur! ”
Lake Pichola hotel is a dream accommodation perfectly situated on the lake overlooking the City Palace and Lake Palace. The rooms are incredible and if you can get one with a terrace be sure to do so! We were so pleasantly surprised with the location. It’s just cross a small walking bridge to the main part of town and the palace so you’re removed from the busy parts but can walk safely everywhere. The Rooftop restaurant is one of the best rated and we ended up eating there all 3 nights because it was so good and the view perfect! Would love to go back!

Lake Pichola hotel makes you feel royal starting from the welcome, the service, the staff, the rooms the facilities, etc. The best part of this property is the view of the Pichola lake and the fort with lightning from Lake side room’s balcony. Its worth and it’s full paisa wasool. Just stretch your legs in the chair in balcony with a coffee/chai and enjoy the spectacular lake view. This was one of the best stay of my lifetime. The one and only issue is reaching the hotel. The approach roads are too, too narrow that you have to take auto for last 1 km. No other vehicles can go there.

Wonderful hotel with great lake view”
Great hotel in perfect location, within few minutes walk from a number of famous restaurants and attractions. Rooms with beautiful view to lake Pichola and Udaipur city palace. Our room was clean and well equipped. Management was kind enough to offer us to check in at 7 in the morning, however we preferred room with balcony so we waited until noon. ground floor Maharana restaurant is very well decor and provide good food at a decent cost. Highly recommend this hotel.
