Enjoyed our stay in paradise!”
The Koh Mook Riviera Beach resort was perfect for our 3 day stay and we would have easily stayed longer if we didn't have to fly home. The resort is quiet and you have access to a private beach with plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby as well as a 1 minute walk to the cutest little village full of lovely people. I really reccomend staying here. The staff were very friendly and always had a smile and were always willing to help and make you comfortable. It made the stay really nice. There was a free dinner offered every night which we sadly didn't go to because we spent our days lounging around the resort and wanted to explore the village/support the local restaurants at night. But this addition was very nice. The breakfast was also included in the price of hotel and it was nice. After two weeks in Thailand I didn't once see a breakfast buffet and honestly why do you complain about what one hotel does vs. the other. Isn't that the beauty of life - that we're all different. 😉 The breakfast pancakes were very good and the others looked good as well. The rooms I would give an 8.5/10. We stayed in the garden rooms and loved it. You don't always need the ocean right outside your window and the room was very quiet given that most rooms were booked throughout the time of our trip. We had a big bed, a fan, AC unit, big bathroom, a small futon and a tv. What else do you need? It was great. Was it 5 star hotel quality? No, but it was exactly what you needed at the beach: a quiet, open room with AC and a place to relax for a bit. The big sell for me was the screened doors and windows and most importantly the screened window in the bathroom. I can't tell you how comeforting it was to see the bugs/lizzards crawling knowing they CAN'T come in!

Our 4 night stay at Riviera Beach Resort”
On arrival we met the Professor/ owner of Riviera Beach Resort on a rare visit. He and his daughter gave us warm welcome and told us about their endeavours on the Island, in helping the local community/ raising awareness of the preservation of Mooks' marine wildlife/ environment. We had booked a room inland but were offered a discounted upgrade to sea view room. The room was large + 10 seconds from beach. Bed was v.comfortable/ shower room clean + spacious. There was a sofa, shelves and desk but a wardrobe would have been a good addition. The food was good at both breakfast/ dinner. The dinner menu is limited, but the dishes are clearly well practiced. They specialise in sizzling hot plates (personal fave was massaman curry). Breakfast was good and we were kindly offered Anita the manager's own baked beans even though they weren't on the menu. As vegetarians (and from the Uk) this was a lovely offering. In terms of feedback, it should be noted that the 'English Breakfast' and 'American Breakfast' should be the other way around (we only really eat pancakes once a year in UK!) The location couldn't be better. It's next to the best cocktail bar on the island (claiming to make the best Margarita in the world?!) and just up from Sugars' which is a great alternative for breakfast/lunch. Most significantly it's on a picturesque quiet and beautiful beach. The village around the corner and area to the left of the pier is also worth visiting. Other feedback- It would be good if bicycle hire from the hotel was cheaper (was more expensive than scooter hire). Maybe the music during breakfast could be a bit more fitting/ changed from time to time as was the same every morn, and they should make more of a feature of their environmental endeavours. It's a bit underplayed at the moment, when personally I think it should be something really prominent. Riviera Beach resort is perfectly located and run by some of the most hospitable people we met in Thailand.

Lovely location, peaceful and relaxed”
My husband and I stayed here with friends and absolutely loved this place. The sister and brother team who own and run it are delightful people and make you feel welcome from minute one. All staff members are sweet and helpful with any request or question you may have. We booked a boat trip to explore the Emerald Cave on the other side of the island during the early morning hours which was not just fun but also a visually striking experience. A must do while on Ko Muk! What we loved about Riviera Beach Resort as well was the location, the spacious beachfront Bungalows and how you felt immersed in nature and the life of the fisherman villagers and locals living around the resort. The sounds and the sights are nothing but delightful and relaxing. Would always return here on a future trip and recommend Ko Mook Riviera Beach Resort to anyone coming to the island.

Best beach at Koh Mook”
We stayed at Koh Mook Riviera Beach Resort with our baby boy January 2015 and loved every minute. Sea villas are spacious, clean and placed with lots of space between and close to the beach. The beach is the best at Koh Mook and not crowed as at Charlie beach where there's packed. Simple and nice breakfast and to our surprise complementary diner which was excellent. If you are looking for relaxation away from the crowd stay here! We will definitely come back:-)

Tropical Paradise!”
Riviera is one of the best beach resorts I have ever stayed at. At first I was thinking of staying just few nights, but place was so superb that I stayed there 12 nights in skyroom, which was spacious, simple and stylish. There was beautiful garden view and it was only one minute walk from the peaceful beach. Professional management, really helpful and friendly staff (excellent service), good food, great location just by the beach and few minutes walk to village. In this price category you cannot find better in Koh Mook. Really recommendable!

Family feel beach stay near interesting village”
We had a nice stay at Koh Mook Nature Beach Resort with our 10 month baby. She and us enjoyed the sincerely friendly people working at this place - happy time every day. Room was truly mosquito proof so no need for net. They don't have baby cot but put extra bed with protection around it. Don't use the transportation offered by resort manager. It's overpriced and low quality. We booked private a mini-van to Trang for a high price which should be new and safe for baby and ended up to share the transport with 3 other people + and old bus with no seat belts. Better book in village, e.g. Mr Yong, half price, better quality.

Environmental friendly place”
We enjoyed the sincerely friendly people working at this place and had a happy time every day. Swimming at beach is good. Rooms only have cold shower which is standard on Koh Mook but no problem in this climate. Room was truly mosquito proof and environmental friendly constructed. Transportation offered by resort manager is expensive and not good. We paid for a good mini-van but ended up with something far below expectation and did not feel safe. Laundry service also damaged our clothes so be careful with that one.

We spend few days in sivalay and to be honnest we had a much better in the Riviera. I really recomand this resort!

Perfect Setting”
We stayed at the Koh Muk Nature Beach Resort in December 2011. When we arrived there was only one other couple staying at the resort and they left the day after we arrived. This gave us the whole place to ourselves. The resort is located on the quieter side of the island, although the whole island is quiet. The bungalows are big and clean and have front windows/doors that look out onto the sea. The staff are an absolute delight and always had a smile...even more so when we 'gave them the night off' by telling them we'd be eating at the Hilltop restaurant one night! We'd thoroughly recommend staying here.

Great front beach location”
Its a lovely kid friendly place. Games and staff that will carry your baby for you when you need to eat. Made to order breakfasts were a good touch compared to all the buffets we have had in other hotels. We felt we could wake up at leisure and not have to quickly make it to the restaurant if we didn't want to end up eating the leftovers. The resort has a green policy and encourage the use of bicycles and so there are no motorbikes for rent. This was not a problem as the island is small enough for interesting walks in the nearby village. The beach is clean and private and nice to sit out and read under the umbrellas. Sometimes we carried our beach chairs right into the water and had our own personal spa experience! The restaurant sizzling dishes are quite a sight, one really needs to experience it. It is like seafood on a hot fire plate with mouthwatering smells sizzling away a mix concoction of ginger, lemongrass and garlic. Desserts were a world of its own with pancakes and coconut ice cream, banana fritters with honey. Ginger and basil hot tea was also a great delight. We are chefs ourselves and we were impressed. Rooms were clean, spacious and wide. Beachfront. A great holiday in all. We will come again.

We had a great time! Good value for money. ”
We loved our stay at Koh Mook Riviera Beach Resort. The hotel is not perfect, but it had all we needed, and everything else close by. Friendly staff and a very good location.

Wonderful location and great food!”
Koh Mook Nature Resort turned out to be simpler than we expected, but nice enough for our five night stay. We liked the location very much and either walked to the beach outside of the Sivalai resort (white and powdery...) or took a taxi (moped) to the other side of the island to Charlie Beach Resort. We liked the smallness of both the island and the resort and the feeling of staying just next to Thai people. Much nicer than when there are only foreigners and no local people. We enjoyed Koh Mokk and our stay very much!

Lovely location - great for families”
The setting is terrific. There's a nice sandy strip of beach at all times. Swimming is possible at high tide. At low tide the beach flats stretch out for miles and are covered with starfish, sea cucumbers and more. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the convenient restaurant is tasty. We stayed at high season and found the price a bit high - especially at the restaurant. The bathrooms were fine but a bit old (no hot water in shower - which is unnecessary but still was a surprise, easily clogged toilets etc). The air conditioning in both rooms was chilly and effective. The rooms were sturdy and seemed secure. The safe in one room worked well but was broken in the other. Internet was too slow to be much use at times but having Internet on a tropical island already seems like an unnecessary luxury. We liked the ecological emphasis in the resort's design and features. The resort is a few steps from shops and a short walk from two villages. We wish that all the resorts educated their guests a little bit more about protecting island ecology and respecting local customs - even just mentioning to guests that in these Muslim villages, modest dress is more welcome than tiny tank tops or bikinis. Wishing for a way that tourism could support rather than erode the local culture.

Relaxing place, nice rooms and great service!”
We had a great stay here. The setting of the resort was ideal for a relaxing holiday. Rooms have been recently built and completed and were very clean and new, which is great. Amenities are good and the the owners have kept the place neat and tidy. The resort's surroundings was peaceful and friendly and staff were very helpful. There is also a big garden in front of the beach. The resort also has a selection of books to read and games to play. There is a village nearby so it was easy to get around. The resort also organized a wonderful tour on their speedboat to the Emerald Cave which is on the other side of the island.

Eco friendly bungalows right on the beach”
Clean, spacious bungalows located right on the beach. Service from the manager, kahlil, and his staff was absolutely excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Food also was exceptional, all cooked to order including breakfast. Food prices also very reasonable which along with the quality attracted guests from the other resorts down the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially as a result of khalil's hospitality and willingness to help.

uncharitable room environment, good food”
Our stay at Riviera Beach Resort was a mixture of pro's and con's. The staff was very friendly, competent and helpful. Food in the resort's restaurant is great when it comes to local dishes for dinner / lunch. The location is also nice if you're looking for direct access to a white sand beach from where you can walk for long at the beach towards the peer. However, the resort, in some parts, seems newly built - there is still rubbish and building material lying around. On the other hand, e.g. the upper floor of the restaurant is loveless and looks old and does not invite to relax and spend time there. Rooms are ok, good size and equipped with all you need, however, also here a certain "charme" and cozyness would be a plus to feel comfortable and relax during a longer stay.

A lovely environmental friendly hotel!”
Staff were incredibly helpful during our stay here, they had really lovely policies regarding the environment and welfare of the island. Profits from the hotel go towards children and their education and so forth. It is all environmentally friendly, and from previous reviews I see people were put off by their "disgusting yellow water". However, this is not true and all you have to do is read the information in the hotel to realise that it is throughly distilled naturally, the colour itself comes from tannin in the coconut roots. We were also pleasantly surprised by the offer of free dinner every night of our stay, the sizzling dishes were a spectacle! The island itself is very quiet but be sure to check out the authentic village behind the hotel and the lovely people and also the Emerald cave! The beaches themselves are beautiful and we had the best time staying here.

Great tours and service”
The beach was clean and private. We relaxed with our own beach chairs in our own private corner as there are no crowds like in other places. The water rises as far as the restaurant and during the day you can see the water colour change a mix between blue and green reflecting against the sun and this was interesting and beautiful to watch. Staff are friendly and helpful assisting us with our needs. Front desk can arrange transfers to any destination including special interest tours. We enjoy fishing and so the resort helped us to arrange a tour with their local fisherman and they taught us how to use island bait and rods which are very different from what we are used to in Sweden. We caught a few fish and the kitchen cleaned it and fried it for us. Very delicious. A great experience. Definitely recommended!

Nice place”
Very nice view from the room. Less than 50m to the beach. During high tide the boat can send u straight to the resort. No need to go to jetty. Easy to go to nearby restaurant and shop. But please go during high season. (january-june). Means the weather are good and more tourist come. last time i went there during low season. Only our family at the resort and the cafe at resort are closed. Need to go to nearby restaurant and shop to eat. During low season also cannot snorkelling or diving. Dont went there wrong time like me. 🤣🤣🤣

Great food, excellent beach, Best tour”
Apart from the private beachfront the resort has a very lush garden area which is not common in island resorts we have stayed at. We were surprised to see big trees and natural ponds like a big park and this provided cooling shade against the hot sun during the day. It was very welcoming. The food is very tasty and their sizzling dishes are a highlight. We recommend the mild curry with chicken or calamari. The dishes were made less spicy for us. Their hot coffee with a shot of brandy is also very good. Reception very friendly and organised the tour to the emerald cave at a time when no one else was there. It was a wonderful experience to be in the cave all by ourselves. We had done the tour before from Lanta and there were over fifty other tourists and too crowded. The resort seems to know at exactly what time to go to avoid the big boats. Be sure to ask them and go with them for a once in a lifetime experience. Comfortable rooms and mattresses. Will return.
