Good value for money”

Our 2 nights stay at this Kiwi Express Hotel – Chenggong Rd. was excellent. The hotel is strategically located near to Taichung Train station & BRT Jen-ai Hospital station, just 10min. walk. Check in was smooth and fast with a friendly smile. The room was simple, clean and quiet, also has Bathtub & Free Wifi. but The Free Buffet Breakfast was so so, Definitely nothing for free. Overall though, I would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area, Good value.

Best bang for buck”

-Located within walking distance to traditional market for food and BRT (transit) -extremely friendly and helpful staff -affordable pricing for quality -spacious room though we got a room without a bathtub, the large bed was a great trade off -breakfast buffet included This is our second time at Kiwi Chenggong branch. Definitely our go to hotel in Taichung!

Cheap accommodation and clean”

If you are coming from the Taichung airport, you can take bus 115 and you alight near Chengong Rd and it is a 3-5minutes walk. In addition, it is a 5minutes walk to Taichung Train station and Gancheng bus terminal(bus to Sun Moon Lake, Puli, Cingjing etc) The hotel staff was really quick and I managed to check in in 1-2minutes. I stayed in a 4-bed dormitory and the bed was comfortable. Most importantly, the room and toilet were really clean. One thing to take note of is the that dorm is mixed dorm and the bed can be quite close to each other. Hence, if you do not like that, then mixed dorm may not suit you.

Amazing stay, helpful staff”

I had an amazing stay at kiwi hotel. I first had some problems due to a double booking of the room but the staff was very helpful and we could cancel it. The location is very nice, close to the train and bus station and the Taichung park. The rooms and the bathroom is clean and you have your privacy. They also provide free water, tee and coffee which makes it so comfortable. Would definitely come again.

Nice Experience with KiWi Express Hotel”

that was a great experience while our family stay with Kiwi Hotel, they even provide free parking which is so close to Taichung Central Park at city downtown. Overall, Kiwi Hotel really worthwhile to visit again, it't will definite as one our favor hotel in our family shortlist.

Comfortable stay, very good buffet breakfast”

The location is very convenient whereby train station/kuokuang express bus station are within walking distance. You can easily catch local buses to various night markets and shopping districts. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are very helpful. Glad to stay here again when I return to taichung in future ;)

Budget Hotel, value for money”

it was a pleasant stay. but we got confused with another Kiwi Express Hotel in Taichung on the 2nd night when we use Google Map to navigate back hotel. It's a very affordable hotel if you are very price conscious.

Fancy”

I accidentally booked two nights here when I only wanted one and the staff were kind enough to cancel the second night for no extra charge. They were very smart and efficient, and the lobby was super clean with tea available. There were slippers to wear in the rooms and the beds were very comfortable, but if you have a lot of luggage the space may not be sufficient. Also the shower gel had a kiwi scent which was a cute detail. I guess the best part was the buffet breakfast - the room was a little pricey but this is probably why. Western and Chinese breakfast with many items available to fill you up until dinner! However one funny thing I noticed was the little sign that said the hotel was 'environmentally friendly' yet the toaster is running for 3 hours every morning and only used occasionally... not very green!

Convenient with reasonable price”

The hotel location is not as center as Kiwi Express Hotel - Taichung Station Branch II, and very quiet during night time, shop lots along the road have closed about 8 pm; But the hotel location is not far from Nantou bus station, which is convenient to free and easy traveler. The room was quite spacious for single traveler like me, and nice breakfast provided.

Spacious and Convenient but fair service”

Hotel in general: Generally the stay was enjoyable, just a couple of hiccups at the beginning. Do note that the air-conditioning here was not as great, and they only have 3 control, weak, average and strong, of which strong is not comparable to the air-conditioning on public transport. In addition, although this hotel do provide free shuttle service, you may wish to take note that you have to book at least 3 days in advance and subject to availability. In addition, this shuttle service can only bring you to either the train station or the high speed rail station in Taichung. Laundry facilities are great in this hotel, and one can pay NT10 for a 50 mins wash with complementary drying service. There are only 2 machines here though. Interior of the hotel is clean and bright, with 42 inch teevee. Daily complementary breakfast is only average, with scramble eggs, noodles, fried rice, porridge with some side dishes nothing fanciful. Location: Took us 30 mins walk from the Taichung train station to the hotel. Was not as near as you may see from the map though. Nonetheless, exterior of the hotel was rather appealing. Upon talking with the locals, chenggong road is basically a relatively old area with old hotels. One would not be surprise if i were to say Kiwi hotel is one of the best hotel in this area. Do take note that the bus service in Taichung is FREE if the distance you are traveling is less than 8KM, which can easily cover areas such as Feng Jia Night market, SOGO and Yi Zhong Night market. Feel free to shop around both night markets mentioned, they have relatively unique food.

Clean and Tidy”

Overall is good.You will be shocked when u stepped in the room.It is quite small,8 bed in a small room.Typical Taiwanese Breakfast is provided by the hotel. Location is not bad,just walk within 5 min to reach the hotel by the TaiChung bus.Toilet is outside of the room,quite clean.Shampoo,hair dryer is provided but the space for shower is too small.

Great choice with excellent choice of breakfast”

The location is great. You can walk from the Taichung (Taizhong) Train Station. There are lots of shops and restaurants around. The hotel even provide variety of breakfast. The only drawback is the bed zone is VERY very small. If you have a huge luggage and was placed on to the upper bunk bed...you would have a little hard time like me.

Very friendly staff”

They acceded to my request of having the room with grey brick walls. Yes the room was very clean, toilets too. Breakfast wasn't great (eggs were sweet. Wish they had cereal). But as mentioned- THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. It's amazing! Emma in particular- every night she helped us with directions for the next day because google maps was a huge cock up. She would help us find the fastest; cheapest route to get to where we want to. However, hotel is not exactly in the heart of Taichung. All the touristy places like Cingjing farm, sun moon lake, hehuan mountain were at least 2hrs out via a bus. But it was only half hr ride to the hugeeee night market (Fengjia Night market). So it really depends what you're going there for, really.

Nice Clean Affordable”

The hotel is near to Taichung Train Station by 15 mins walk. There is 7-11 nearby. The room is clean. Breakfast is great. Staffs are nice and able to speak English very well. Coined Washing Machine is available.

Affordable and nice soap”

The room is too packed. Better have small luggage and ask to be placed at the lower bunkbed as the locker is very small or maybe a backpack would be good as it would occupy your bedside like beside your pillow. It has locker for your shoes and you will need to change to slippers provided by the hostel. Spring bed is not too comfy, but surprisingly I managed to get sleep everytime on it. Nice smell for the toiletries. Kiwi scent, I think.

Good hotel”

Very nice and good hotel with excellent staff and location from Taichung Railway Station. Breakfast is served is more chinese oriented but still more than acceptable. All in all good experience and will surely come and stay here again.
