Booking in the autumn”
The room was very spacious. Was slightly under the weather and couldn't try the dinner unfortunately but the staff was very nice and call a taxi to bring us to the local town to eat. Location is right out the national park. 2 mins walking distance which was very convenient because the road is quite jammed in the autumn towards the national park. Forgot to mention that the staff also helped with my late minute adjustment to my room. 👍

This hotel is so random”
We really enjoyed our overnight stay here. It’s such a strange hotel, the theme doesn’t make any sense, yet it’s so beautiful, charming and amazing inside. Every floor is basically a museum and has different themes lol. It’s very comfortable to sleep overnight, and the location couldn’t be any better for the national park. I wish we could have stayed even longer here. Highly recommend for a quirky but wonderful stay.

Grand Old Hotel at the gates to Seorak”
Really enjoyed our stay at this British themed hotel. We were upgraded to a balcony room, and enjoyed the special BBQ dinner, and the full western_Korean breakfast. The views are great, and the staff was considerate and professional. Some of the furniture was showing its age, but the facilities were clean and well maintained. Will be my go-to stay in Sokcho.

Best location for Seoraksan hiking”
Pluses - this hotel is located just a block away from the entrance of Seoraksan National Park. The local bus stops in front of the hotel (you have to walk up to the entrance tho). This is really the most awesome and convenient location if your goal is to visit Seoraksan on the Sokcho side. Minuses- as other reviewers stated, the hotel is pretty old and tired. So I went in with pretty low expectations. I purposely got an ondol room because I hate carpet, especially if it’s old. That said, my room didn’t have any visible mold, but the wallpaper was peeling at the edges. Bathroom was updated and clean ish. Hot water does take a long time after running the water and I felt like I was wasting so much water just to get it hot. I even tried to wait an hour to see if all he got water was just gone. In the hotel’s defense, it’s out in nowhere land and other hotels and buildings in the area all seemed tired and old, so I’m not sure you could find a better place to stay, esp given the upside of convenience. If you don’t have a car, there are no restaurants within walking distance except the ones at the entrance of Seoraksan so you’ll have to work with their open working hours. The in-hotel restaurant had a super limited menu and nothing for vegetarians. I ate some snacks for dinner upon my arrival. P.S. - if taking the local bus, it costs something like 1700krw. Come equipped with small change.

This hotel is excellent if you visit Seulak-san to experience the best mountain hiking place in Korea. Also, it displayed K-entertainment history in all spaces, floor by floor, like a museum.

If your goal is to go to Seorak national park, this is the only option in my opinion. Closest to the entrance of the park, great breakfast and comfortable rooms. Although dated, the price is extremely affordable, and service is exceptional.

Excellent location, facilities a little old”
The location was phenomenal (closest you can stay to Seorak national park, don't even need to pull your car out of the carpark, can walk to the national park entrance in less than 5 minutes), the view was stunning, the staff were great The building does feel a bit worn, dust in places that are probably just hard to get rid of completely Toilet was good The bed is very hard in the ondol room We stayed in the double room and it was nice and spacious

This was a weekend getaway and we first book ondol room which was a mistake. The bedding is sooooo thin and we didn’t sleep the first night there so we did an upgrade. The bed was interesting with two twins pushed together. Room was better in design and didn’t look rundown like the ondol. Breakfast was good but with corona they only let you have two choices korean or American. Was nice to have both but I think for the expensive price they need to have a better breakfast. The staff was beyond amazing but they shut everything down around 3 with last order at 230pm.

Good location for those who visit Seollak mt”
Pros: The location was great for visiting Seollak mt. You can walk to the entrance, it is ashamed that they don't let the dogs in to the mountain and the park, so we had to go back but the hotel has a great greenyard in front of the hotel, so we let her run and take a walk. if you have children travelling with, you would love this hotel. Cons: the hotel is aged... though liked the decoration with the antique England colors. The bedding was the worst i've ever had in recent trips. it really needs to be replaced.

If you wanna visit Seorak mountain, recommend to stay in this hotel, after you visit Seorak, you will be very tired. This hotel is the nearest hotel just 3-5mins walk next to Seorak. Different floor have different theme, that you can know more about Korea’s entertainment industry (if you want to know). The staffs are nice and helpful, can talk in English, so don’t worry. The breakfast is not bad, totally all the things in this hotel are good. Recommend to stay here!! But need to come here between 7h-20h30, because after 20:30 will not have city bus to arrive Seorak, only taxi!

Hotel has great location just outside the entrance of Seoraksan National Park, last stop of bus no.7-1 from Sokcho. Foods are okay but a bit cold when serving. Very limited guest service during check-in, check-out is much better. Facilities are very very old and difficult to use, beds are not very comfortable.

The hotel’s glory days are behind them. They should really renovate and upgrade their facilities. The heater in my room wasn’t working properly. For a four star hotel, they should be serving more than 1 dish for their room service. Fortunately the staff are great and speak English well. The best perk was their short distance to Mt Seoraksan.
