A strange setting for a five-star resort hotel”

Rooms were large, clean, comfortable. Service was attentive - I was even given a birthday cake at breakfast! Pasta carbonara unexpectedly excellent.

We stayed at Iyara Lake Hotel for one night, needing to be in Uthai Thani at that time. It is one of the strangest places I have ever stayed at: the design and architecture is a mixture of the mock-Khmer (but with a "rococo" sky blue cupola ceiling!), western and Thai or Thai-kitsch (countless elephant statues inside and outside - after all "iyara" means elephant). This five-star facility with hundreds of rooms is in the middle of nowhere, but (since we were the only guests in the hotel that day) the staff treated us regally...

    Good 5 star hotel”

Grand hotel with a beutiful kids' room, the villa has a useful kitchenette corner and the baby cot big and sturdy enough for 2 year old toddler
    None.

The Iyara Park Hotel is very beautiful and grand and offers plenty of facilities. The staff is very helpful too. Although it is in the middle of nowhere (half way up north between Bangkok and Sukothai) there are several venues worth visiting. With the help of a map of Uthai Thani provided by the hotel, you should visit the temple in the mountain and the temple covered in mirror mosaic tiles. The kids' room is the most beautiful I have seen so far. Great breakfast too: offered either off the menu or buffet, according to the hotel occupancy.

great hotel, friendly staff, far from town”

Apart from the impressive architecture of this good hotel, it is mainly the friendly and helpful staff that made our stay very enjoyable. The rooms are neat and tidy, all equipment worked as expected. However, in public areas (such as the entrance hall, lobby, and corridors) the air conditioning appeared to be turned off, turning many sections of the hotel interior into a sauna. Breakfast was simply great, as we could order as much as we wanted of anything. The hotel not providing a shuttle service to town, it may be too far away if you don't have your own means of transport. Nonetheless, we can truly recommend the hotel to anyone planning a trip to Uthai Thani and wishing to stay at a comfortable and high standard hotel.

    Grand 5 star stay”

Grand hotel with a beutiful kids' room, the villa has a useful kitchenette corner and the baby cot big and sturdy enough for 2 year old toddler.
Main entrance hall/reception was a bit spooky when we turned up the first time: we must have been the only guests as most of the lights were switched off!

The Iyara Park Hotel is very beautiful and grand and offers plenty of facilities. The staff is very helpful too. Wonderful and beautiful accommodation”

    Nearly everything

This hotel is far from town but is worthwhile. When we arrive you enter a beautiful entrance with statues and nice outside decoration. The building is huge and made with limestone coloured bricks, really beautiful. This is one of the hotels we are feeling at home and there is much to tell about this accommodation. When we park our car staff welcoming us and like to carry our luggage into the hotel. The reception staff was very friendly and we are the only guests in the hotel. Besides hotelrooms there is also villas to rent or to stay for one night. In the villas there is a group staying for one night and we in the hotelroom on the highest 3rd floor. We have got a room with parkview, really enjoyable.

    Impressive Khmer statues all around”

The hotel/resort is most impressive, and I understand filled during holiday seasons, but there were few visitors when we were there. The pool is huge and clean. It's a huge facility, with magnificent statues from the Kmer era. It's far away from the hustle bustle, if that is what you want, and quiet. The restaurant is fine, and reasonably priced.

Huge hotel with only a small number of guests”

The place is super huge and well maintained. The accommodation is very nice, clean and spacious. The staff are friendly and helpful. But it felt funny and a little lonely to be the only 4 guests in this huge 300-room hotel. We were told that it was only 6 guests (3 rooms) on that day. However, we had a good experience staying there.

A very comfortable night in a nice atmosphere.”

Great architecture, full facilities, nice comfortable room

Lonely due to the 1-percent occupancy at the time. We understood the problems caused by the big flood 2 years ago and the hotel's attempt at revitalization. However, many thanks to hotel's staff who tried their best to please us under such situation. The food at the restaurant was great and the price reasonable.

Very beautiful hotel in a beautiful park”

All services that you need (spa, massage, swimming pool, golf, tennis etc), beautiful location, beautiful style
Villas are mosquito-friendly and our one seemed not too cleaned (spiders on the ceiling, old toilet paper in the bathroom). Massages were a bit on the soft side

the hotel stroke us for its majestic style, full of sacred symbols and devoted to the elephant, the beautiful park with hedges shaped like animals, the pond, the colored flowers and the size of everything. we enjoyed spa, massage (but you should make them forget you're western, and ask them not to go too soft with it), a golf driving course, a fitness room with all the necessary tools, and the beautiful swimming pool with a fountain and jacuzzi. and there are many other things to enjoy if you want (horse riding, tennis to name two). all in all a great experience.

When we arrived, there were almost no lights on outside or inside even though it wasn't late. We were the only guests. It was creepy. Our son threw up in the room, and the hotel didn't want to give us more towels when we asked. They said they would have to charge, even though every other room there was empty. They charged my 5 year old and 3 year old each for breakfast. This hotel is quickly going out of business. They will be desperate to get you there with their glamorous pictures online, and "discounts", but beware, they are also very stingy and will squeeze you for an absurd amount of extra fees. If you are desperate for some place close to the freeway like we were, then stay here. We were the only guests at this place. most lights and air were not on when we arrived in the evening. it was creepy and really not well priced. it was like a horror film. eery.
