The IFC Residence is a wonderful, restful location that combines the amenities of a hotel with some of the comforts of home. A giant "living room" that occupies the third floor is a perfect place to work quietly in a pleasant atmosphere with a view, and there is also a terrace and business center to utilize. In the mornings they serve a standard Chinese hotel breakfast, but fortunately there is also coffee! The rooms are basically hotel suites with a full kitchen, including western amenities like a coffee pot and, shockingly, an honest-to-goodness dishwasher. There aren't really any decorations, but it's comfortable and clutter free. The staff were excellent at all times, regardless of station and what was needed. My only complaint at all is that the rooms all used soft yellow lights, so it was basically impossible to have a well-lit room at night. Otherwise though, it was a fantastic stay.

This residence is an absolute gem! In addition to its great location the rooms and facilities are in perfect condition and the staff is lovely and kind! You can’t go wrong by choosing to stay. The breakfast is diverse enough but if you prefer, lots of coffee shops are available in the area. A lovely stay and my kids loved the pool!

The 2 bedroom is fantastic for us with 2 kids 6 and 7. Swimming pool is awesome. The 3rd floor lounge is so comfortable. The location is unbeatable with so many restaurants around, and all that is in Lujiazui. We’ll be back!

A wonderful discovery in Shanghai”
We’d stayed in IFC Residence from July 25 to August 21. We have to say it is definitely the best apartment hotel in Shanghai, with respect to the location, the staff and the elegant facilities provided. Starting from check-in, you were welcomed by friendly and efficient reception staff. During our stay, whether it was for calling a taxi or for some sightseeing tips, the reception or concierge team was always ready to give help! To name a few, thank you Helen, Michelle, Alice and Kiki... thank you Jami and Frank... in general, the whole team is worthy to be complimented! What makes it outstanding is the fact, besides the elegant hotel as it is; you are always greeted & served with friendly smiling staff! A Big Bravo to Yvonne, the newly landed manager from Hotel Ritz Calton Shanghai, who has obviously brought with her the elegant customer service concept to her team in IFC Residence. The other best point is location, which is unique in Lujiazhui. Simply by opening the hotel door, an excellent mall is in front of you, where you could find various choices of the restaurant, or the access to the subway, etc... With respect to the breakfast, the choice is basic. However, the restaurant manager Leo is always there listening to your need; Service girl Coco would bring a cup of coffee with two sugar bags to me whenever seeing me come to breakfast. A wonderful personal touch! We had a wonderful time in Shanghai, due to all the convenience provided by IFC Residence and its team! We will certainly recommend it to friends and those who would like to explore Shanghai starting from Pudong!

Great place for families ”
We traveled with our 3 children and stayed in a two bedroom suite for 11 days. Our kids were overwhelmed by the overall business in Shanghai on the first day of arrival but as soon as we checked into IFC Residence, they felt at ease and calmed down. This is a place that made all of us feel at home. The 2-bedroom is nicely set up and the best is the kitchen and ensuite bathroom. The kitchen offers all the appliances we are used to in Canada and catering to our children was a piece of cake. There's also a washer/dryer that gets the laundry job done as well. The ensuite bathroom is particularly impressive with the toilet seat washlet and a built in tv mirror. The amenities in the hotel are very welcoming and decorated with thought and taste. The pool is massive with plenty of resting spaces, overlooking the stunning high rises outside through the floor to ceiling glass, the change room provides all the privacy we need and the lockers are easy to use. Kids loved the pool so much they wanted to go every day and every time we went they did not want to leave. The living room on the 3rd floor is also a spacious place to entertain visitors. The hotel is also directly connected to the luxurious IFC Mall on the 1st and 3rd floor, it gives a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Taking the line 2 subway through the mall is just a 2-3 minute walk, very convenient. Overall we found IFC Residence luxurious and very comfortable. It really is a home away from home. Highly recommend it to travelling families, as it probably has the best value for money.

Always enjoy staying at IFC”
I stay in Shanghai 1-2 times per month on average, and like to have a hotel in the Lujiazui business area. IFC Residence is ideally located for my purposes, the rooms are very large and very well appointed. Super comfortable and with either a desk or dining table that makes for easy work environment. If you don't require a hotel restaurant or bar, IFC is a great choice. And all that you need is within the connected mall, including a very nice supermarket and the Ritz-Calrton is connected via the mall.

Great place to stay while in downtown Pudong”
We had a nice time at IFC Residence. You won't do much better for the amount that you pay for a 1 bedroom hotel room. The location is outstanding for taking in the sights of downtown Pudong. You will most certainly find a nice restaurant to go to. IFC Mall is above my tastes. Most of the shops are fashion oriented and catering to the rich. IFC Residence, though, was affordable 4/5 star accommodations. The breakfast was better than I expected. It is not a big smorgasbord of food that you will find at a 5-star buffet, but it has some healthy options and you'll do great for a vegetarian. I do wish they had a hotter hot tub and ice cold tub, as well. The "spa" is a little small and I also thought they could have a little larger kids play area. But no place is perfect.

New and very spacious rooms”
Great location for Pudong business district. Discreet lobby as not that many visitors coming in. Lovely decor and very large rooms, large even when you are expecting residence style rooms. Everything worked well in the room, with 2 toilets and an enclosed area as work station. Not all comes with that and you can check before arrival. It's connected to the IFC mall and office, short walk to many landmark high rises in Pudong. Service not ideal as they don't have a large work force as you would expect from a residence with most longer staying guest. Breakfast is below average but you are a kitchen if you prefer something more fancy. Excellent for business, also very good for young family.

Excellent place to stay in Pudong business area”
This is my second stay at IFC residences, as an alternative to the nearby 5-star hotels. I choose IFC Residence, when I can get a good, or reasonable price compared to hotels. What you get is a much larger room, very good location, and it's very comfortable throughout. Anytime I can get a good deal at IFC, this will be my chosen place to stay in Pudong.

After almost three years living in Shanghai, me and my family decided to spend my last day in Shanghai in this service apartment. All i can say, IFC residence is the apartment that i wish to have in China. We got 2 bedroom-bathroom, huge living room with big window including the great park and building view. Great staff that will help you to get a cab anytime you need it, direct access to IFC Shopping Mall which is the best shopping mall in Lujiazui area. In other hand, compare to another hotel in this area, their price is definitely worth it. Great job IFC, we'll definitely stay in this place again next time! I'll be missing you Shanghai!

IFC residence is a conveniently located service apartment. You can easily access to the hotel via the underground mass transit and the IFC mall in the centre of Pudong area. The rooms are spacious with kitchenette facilities. CitySuper is downstairs so that you can easily buy food for cooking if so wished. The indoor pool at the top floor is a great leisure place with stunning city view.

Prime Location, Absolute Cleanliness, Large Gym”
The location was great! It's connected to the IFC mall, which is on top of the subway station. So when you arrive Pudong airport, take the Maglev, and switch to line 2, arrive at Lujiazui station, walk through the mall into the hotel. The rooms and communal areas were clean, the gym had many treadmills along with a yoga room and weights, as well as a large fancy indoor pool.

Spacious suite with a useful kitchenette”
We stayed for 5 nights in IFC Residence's basic suite. For a couple, the closet and shoe cabinet space were more than adequate. The kitchenette was stocked with pot, pan, bowls, cutlery, etc. That is, enough equipment for cooking a simple meal. There was also a washing machine we didn't get to use. We were really impressed with the swimming pool. This was one of the cleanest and well maintained pool we have ever been to. The view was fabulous too, only somewhat spoiled by the constant smog. By the way, the swim cap policy in China is great. Hope it catches on rest of the world. The breakfast was simple. Not too many choices. But we both agreed it was good and adequate. This hotel was above the IFC Mall, which was only one subway station away from the busiest area in Shanghai - Nanjing Dong Lu. If I had to find fault with the mall, it's almost a replica of Hong Kong's IFC Mall. Same brands, same restaurants. We had to get out of the area to feel like we have traveled to Shanghai. But hey, it felt so familiar and so easy to navigate.

Excellent location and alternative to nearby hotels”
Compared to the 5 star hotels in the Lujiazhi business area, IFC offers better value for money and larger than usual rooms. Whilst I've not yet had the chance to try the gym and pool, they both look excellent. What you miss, is full hotel facilities such as all day dining and bars, but all these are nearby in other hotels, or the attached IFC Mall. Never the less, you still get toiletries, robes and slippers and bottled water just like a good hotel. The included breakfast, whilst not extensive, is perfectly fine to get you going for the day. Has become my regular place to stay for business in Shanghai, as an alternative to the more expensive 5-start hotels. If you can get the 1br Suite, that is my favourite room, as you get great space and a separate small room from which to work.
