Courage see a change rate is very good comparing to the bank of China which is around 6.95 so you don’t need to go to bank of China or ATM and pay the transaction fees. Located close to Dongsi and national Museum stations. I will recommend you to purchase ic cards and use them for bus to go to Subway stations and subway. 7-Eleven and attached small Chinese restaurant within walking distance like 10 minutes, and about less than 10 minutes to Family Mart with seats for sitdown eating. Location is very close to a subway stops for tourist attractions within one or two transfers depending on where you going. Breakfast buffet is about 89 yuan.

The hotel was clean and the breakfast was various. Its nice being there and would like to stay in this hotel if go to beijing again I arrived at BCIA airport(PEK). I took the airport express interchange at dongzhimen station and take line no2(blue) stop in chongwemen station. The hotel is just in front of the chongwemen station exit 2. Tian An Men is just in front of forbidden city.When u want to go there just take the subway in chongwemen station and interchange at dongdan station and take line 1(red) stop at tian an men east station. When u want to go to badaling great wall u just take the subway line 2 (blue) and stop in jiushitan station. U dont have to change the line. Chongwemen station and jiushitan station have the same line (line 2 blue). After that u go to dezengmen bus station and take bus no 877. Remember the bus operated from 6 -12 pm.

The hotel is right at Wangfujing Street and is only a couple minutes walk to the pedestrian-only section. A great location for food and shopping. Subway station is within walking distance, but I would advise taking a taxi to get there if you have luggage since it is several minutes of walk from the subway station. The hotel enforces the non-smoking rule pretty well. There was no cigarette smell in the lobby, corridor, and room. It is unusual in China. (Many five-star hotels in China don't enforce the non-smoking rule, even in non-smoking rooms.) If you can't stand cigarette smell, stay in this hotel. The room is kind of small and old but functional. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, not much to choose from. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. I will stay there again.

Very clean and lovely hotel at moderate price ($75/nt); very helpful staff, including Reception & Concierge, providing directions, business cards with our destination in Chinese for each outing; terrific central location close to Dengxikou subway station and steps away from bustling Wangfujing commercial street and wacky night food stalls, 30-40 min walk to Tien An Men and Forbidden City.

i would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay there again. the room was beautiful and very functional (2 bedroom suite). we got the club package which was also just great. this gets you access to the club floor where there is an eating area and lounge. the food was good and plentiful. if you are there for a week, as we were, it may get a bit monotonous but for breakfast you can also choose to eat in the chinese restaurant on the first floor, which was also very good. the pool is amazing and this was welcome after a day in the summer beijing heat. the location is great. it is attached to an upscale shopping mall with lots of shops and places to eat. (some western) the subway station is also available on the bottom floor of the mall. while the subway is very crowded, we found it to be a great way to get around. the only thing i can think of for improvement was the service. it was hard to get a waiter/waitress to help us in the club eating area. i wasn't sure if we were avoided because we only spoke english or what. at times we would make an order of food and it would never arrive. it was kind of weird. also, the door men could not speak english which was a problem when trying to communicate with the mandarin only speaking cabbies.

Tian'An Rega Hotel is located between Tian'An Men (Forbidden City) and Wangfujing shopping street. With Wangfujing Station just 5-7 mins walk away, it is great for travelling to other parts of Beijing using the subway. Then hotel gives guests a small but warm feeling, and it's staff are quite conversant in English, which is important for most travellers. Services are prompt and efficient. Staff at the Concierge, and Business Centre (which also provides bookings for day tours) afre very helpful and friendly. Overall, the hotel gives guests a reason to go back again and again.

One of the best hotel I've stayed for holiday. Everything about the hotel have a high end feel and look; from the hotel lobby to hotel room, swimming pool, gym and etc. Our 2 young children totally love the room the moment we stepped into it! We were given a room on 15th floor with a big ceiling to floor window facing the city. The two double beds are very comfortable and is bigger then the usual double bed given in other hotels. The hotel has good location. Subway station is just at the right side of the hotel building (1-2 min walk). For shopping and night market, the famous Wangfujing shopping street is about 10-15min walk away. Several convenient shops around the hotels including one 24hrs opposite the hotel.

The hotel is well located in the city and within easily travel to many tourist sites such as the Forbidden City, Tian Ann Men, Natural History Museum. The WangFujing subway station is within 10min walking distant. Hotel is located within walking distance of 2 large shopping complex. The staff are very helpful and all understand English and speak English, important for those who do not speak Mandarin. The rooms are large by hotel standards and comfortable. Condition is well maintained and are very comfortable. Service is good and prompt. Restaurants serve unique Chinses and Fusion food of high quality. Overall cost somewhat higher than average but I suppose one has to pay for the good things. Recommend to those who want the luxury and can afford it.

The hotel was conveniently located and very clean. The concierge were very helpful in giving us assistance on a daily basis and we got the best exchange rates at hotels. Surprisingly there are very FEW exchange places and others also charge a commission. We did not choose to eat at the hotel due to the extra expense. Although we were very happy with our overall hotel experience, paying £100 night (2 people in one room) for the end of October- I thought was comparatively a little high. However we were safe and comfortable and as with other hotels of this standard we had safety deposit boxes, toothbrushes, toiletries, slippers, complimentary daily water etc. The Dengshikou metro (Line 5) is about 200 metres away from the hotel, (exit from C at the station). That is about 3 minute walk. Remember on the metro you can buy a subway card for CNY 20 which you add credit to. You can refund your CNY 20 card and ANY remaining credit at the airport subway office (keep about 20 mins to do this) or at designated subway stations, on your departure. The hotel has a back exit (opposite the Regency) and when leaving the hotel you can use the back exit and also walk through the Regency Mall area to come out near the main road. We used this exit to catch the airport shuttle (a coach) back to the airport. This is VERY convenient and runs from around 7am - 1900 I think. It runs on the hour and you just turn up 10/15mins prior to departure. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Terminal 3 at Capital Airport and only has about 3/4 local city stops. It cost CNY 24 each. We waited inside in the mall area, as it was cold and rainy. OTHER TIPS: As two women (wearing headscarves) we felt very comfortable and secure travelling alone. Locals were very friendly and helpful. To save money and have more autonomy over our time we chose not to use a tour group for any of our ventures! The location was very good, near 02 subway stations, ie Dongdan and Chongwenmen. All within walking distance. Dongdan is the nearest. I didn't see any elevator at both subway stations. The housekeeping, information and lobby staff were very friendly and helpful. Many times, I asked or make enquiries, they were able to help. Eg our room tv was not functioning properly few times. They were prompt to help. Also, especially the information counter, the staff were resourceful. They showed us how to use Didi app to cancel our booking. Then Dianping app to make appointment for lunch at Dadong. Thumb up. Give them big applause. Except the Reception Counter, they were unable to speak good English, and they were rude. First incident, they didn't give any eye contact upon receiving us. Even after check-in, they failed to give us WiFi password. Second, we thought that Reception Counter able to help us make appointment for Peking duck at Dadong but they brushed us off by pointing at information counter could help. Third, I was going to the office direction where stamps could bought. I wanted to check what time the office open in the morning. Guess what, they shouted at me, and asked where am I going to. I was wondering why the reception staff have to behave in such a manner. Somemore, there were other guest around too. We didn't had their breakfast and didn't eat at their restaurant. Hence, no review. Overall stay was happy. Mainly good location score the most.

As we arrived, we were immediately taken care of. Staff was nice and fluent in English. The room was great- with a sort of old fashion colonial stile to it. Nice and clean bathroom. We had roomservice twice(only stayed one night), they were prompt and very much polite and helpful. The hotel is located a short walk from the Tian'an men square, and a couple of minutes from a subway station, just perfect. The food was quite good, but not over the top. I would gladly recommend this hotel.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. It is located within 5-8 mins walking distance to Wangfujing shopping street, about 15 mins walk to Wangfujing Subway station, 30 mins walk to the Forbidden City. It is convenient to find places to eat as well as convenient store for your needs. The Reception were fabulous and friendly with good command of English (as my wife didn't really understand Chinese). We were given a bigger room in a non-smoking floor (as we requested) although our reservation was for a standard room. It is just the room location has to be accessed through 2nd floor and up some stairs to the other wing of the hotel. The concierge staff who assisted us (Mr. Jack Zhang) was very friendly. As it was our first visit to Beijing, he recommended some places to visit & showed us how to go about. He even informed us the approximate taxi fare if to these places from the hotel. The buffet breakfast consist of western and asian choices which tasted quite nice. We also really appreciate the assistance of another concierge staff upon our check-out (we didn't really catch his full name, just manage to glimpse his name badge has a Zhang). He assisted in hailing a taxi in front of the hotel and help us to inform our destination to the taxi driver. It was a very pleasant stay and made our Beijing trip even more memorable. Thank you.

We stayed at Beijing North Garden hotel for 3 nights at end of Oct 2011. We enjoyed our stay. The best part of the hotel is its prime location on the first block of the busiest Wanfujing street, the start of this prime tourist pedestrian shopping street which is full of big fancy departments stores, huge bookstore next door, alleys full of small stalls and food stands are just steps away. It is located in the trendy new Mall of the Orient complex where Grand Hyatt is located but at the fraction of the price. It is approx. 3 minutes walk from the WFJ subway station, across the street from 24HRS McDonalds which has a dedicated coffee counter, surrounded by hundreds of restaurants and shops and shopping malls. Each nightly casual stroll discovered even more surprises on the main street and side alleys. The front desk ladies are reserved without smile, but they warm up later and proved to be helpful. The concierge bellboy doesn’t seem to know much but front desk ladies tend to cut in fast to help out. We had a very spacious executive suite on the top 11th floor with open living room with sofa and 360 degree flat screen TV, smaller queen bed, safe, fridge and small bathroom, all seem clean and safe. The carpet is tan color, may seem old and dirty to some picky ones, but it looks clean to me upon closer exam. The executive lounge on 12th floor is no longer operational and locked up. No free breakfast and we did not bother to check. There is constantly stream of empty taxis driving pass the hotel so finding a taxi is very easy. The front door is guarded by policemen 24 hours a day. No card needed to go upstairs. Elevators are always ready and fast, very few people around. Taxi to PEK airport from hotel was easy, we reached airport at 8AM in 30 minutes in slow driving in thick fog, 80rmb plus 10rmb toll, total 90rmb. It is not a luxury hotel, 3 stars, but clean and spacious, with the best location in Beijing, very satisfied with North Garden Hotel.

The hotel is in a great location towards the northern end of Wangfujing Street. It is well served by taxis and is 15/25 mins walk respectively from subway stations at Dongdan and Wangfujing. I stayed here whilst on business but the hotel would also work very well for tourists. The rooms are a little dated but they are comfortable. The hotel's best feature is an atrium lounge perfect for a relaxing drink.I would certainly stay here again.

Friendly smiling cleaning staffs & helpful front desk staffs esp Huang. Clean comfortable room. No lift to 2nd floor so request for ground floor room if you have big heavy luggage. Have to deposit RMB250 (I used cash) for my 3 nights stay, fully refund upon checking out. Subway, 24hrs convenience store, shops, supermarket & eateries all within walking distance. Turn left after you exit fr Dongsi (东四) subway station Exit C, hotel is along the 2nd alley Lishi Hutong(礼士胡同).

The hotel is located in a "Hutong", i.e., a very small alley. Most taxi drivers refuse to go into those, but I arrived at 11 p.m., it was dark, and I couldn't see the hotel from the entrance of the Hutong, so I begged and pleaded with the taxi driver, who finally consented to taking me all the way to the hotel (I gave him a good tip for his pains). Once I arrived, I found that the staff had, indeed, read the message I left through Agoda about my adult daughter arriving separately and much earlier than me. Overall, the staff was very helpful ... from booking us on a tour to the Great Wall and rebooking it due to some unexpected health issues, to serving us breakfast extra early so we could make it to the tourbus on time. The facilities are nice, but in a few places could use some repairs. The (included) breakfast was a mix of traditional Chinese food (sweet and sour pork, rice porridge, etc.), and Western foods such as cereal, French Toast, regular toast with butter, jam, cheese, and some fresh fruit and yoghurt. The location is within walking distance of the Forbidden City (GoogleMaps helps a lot in getting there) and easy access to a subway station that gives quick and rush hour-free access to Beijing South Railway Station and other sites for just a few RMB.

This was my first visit to Beijing. I booked this hotel after reading good reviews about it. My consideration to book this hotel is finding optimal location to tourist attraction, more than 8 rating by at least 100 reviewers, cost effectiveness and availability of fast food like McDonald/Subway(I don't eat Beef and Pork and do not understand Chinese too), and subway station within walking distance of 10 min. From Beijing Int'l airport(Terminal3) to this hotel will cost 110 RMB by Taxi. The nearest subway station(Tienanmen East) is 12-15 min walking distance so not comfortable to travel by Beijing subway from airport with heavy luggage. The hotel staff can speak English fluently while I didn't found even a single person in my 5 days visit in Beijing other than hotel staff and Starbucks cash counter who can speak in English and can tell the direction. I booked courtyard room but I was allotted room at 6th floor while courtyard is accessible from 5th floor and ground floor. It could had been let down but it was -7 C outside so really didn't matter to me. If visiting in summer(Apr-Oct) then its preferable to book courtyard room(if budget is not a concern) and enjoy the morning tea/coffee or smoking in the small 6ftX10ft courtyard. Room quality is very good and varieties of toiletries. Small kitchen closet is present with fridge and water boiler. Microwave is not available. Television have English channel unlike many other hotels. Wireless internet is available free but speed is very low. Food: I didn't had the option to book the room with breakfast via agoda.com so not able to comment on food quality. The breakfast coupon can be separately purchased from the reception by paying 70 RMB each person. Better book room with breakfast online as other than subway sandwich shop outside the hotel no restaurant is open during 7-8am. This is the best hotel I stayed in Beijing. If you want to experience Chinese Culture in depth, you do not want to miss this hotel. The hotel is a heritage courtyard house of an ancient scholar back in the emperor's day (ask the luggage boy, he will tell you all about it). The layout of the rooms and garden, and the interior of the rooms and furniture are all very ancient style (not some cheap furniture), which will bring us back to the emperor's day, just like what you see in the movies. The staffs are all very friendly and polite, the receptionists and even the luggage boy. The luggage boy spend time tell us a lot about the history of this hotel, which make it more meaningful when you stayed in there. The location of the hotel is very near the City centre, in the alley way (hutong), but no big departmental store nearby. However it does give you a feel when you walk thru the hutong to the main street (quite safe in the hutong as there is a police station next to the hotel). 10 mins walk will bring you to a subway station, which will bring you to the downtown shopping area within 3 stations. Free wifi and broadband computer in the room, very handy. I will definitely stay in this hotel again if I go to Beijing as it leaves a very good impression.

The room is better than what we expected. Toiletries, hair dryer, international port (we are from Malaysia but we can still charge our phones here), 6 pillows and 1 bolster are provided for Standard King Room. For transportation, the bus station is on the right side of the hotel (50m). You can take bus 104 to Wangfujing to take subway. (only 2 RMB) Wangfujing subway station is in the mall, 100m after you got down from the bus. Before subway you can even grab breakfast at Wangfujing, you can find a few malls and plenty of food stores here. Very convenient. The staff at the front desk of hotel are helpful, they helped us to contact taxi to airport which only costed us less than 100RMB. The taxi arrived in less than 5 mins, at 1am in the midnight. The counter is open 24 hours. We are very happy with our stay (7 nights). Hope you guys will find this tips helpful to you.

The hotel isn't too bad but just not perfect. Overall rooms and services are ok. Breakfast is the pretty much the same stuff every day although there is a relative wide spread. The hotel is not inconvenient but it is not within close walking distance. Perhaps the few minutes of walking would be tolerable but in the summer heat, any minute less in the heat would be good. The nearest subway about 5 minutes away is the Cultural Center station but it requires multiple changes of lines to get to most of the attractions in Beijing. Wasn't as convenient as if you would stay near Line 1 or 2 or 4/5. Overall, the price isn't cheap too and can be considered steep. For the price, much more is expected. Hotel staff at breakfast also needs to explain more about the signing of the bill every morning for the breakfast before guest misunderstood that we may need to pay for breakfast when it's included in our package. Pool wasn't too bad with a slightly hot tub besides it. Didn't go to the gym.

While the staff deliver 5 star service the hotel's infrastructure is no longer 5 star, with the exception of the pool/gym. Ownership needs desperately to invest in a refurbishment of the rooms/halls, etc. That said, at the right price point, this hotel represents arguably the best hotel value in Beijing. Through a prepay/no refund deal available only on Agoda, my wife and I obtained a great price (excluding breakfast but including taxes for 5 nights in early Jan 2014) and, thus, enjoyed an excellent stay. Our grand deluxe room was quite comfortable and, when a few things needed fixing, the staff responded immediately and quickly resolved the issues. The lobby lounge is a very good spot for meetings over tea/coffee and the gym/pool are excellent. We did not eat in the hotel so no comment on dining. The location of the hotel is great and, for those interested, there is a subway stop less than 5 minutes walk. There are also coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, etc., all within a very short walk of the hotel. In sum, while this property is no longer 5 star in overall quality and certainly not nearly the same quality level as the rest of the Peninsula Hotels around the world, at the right price point it is worth considering and for visits to Beijing. We will certainly consider it for our next visit.

The hotel is located in Wangfujing, the main shopping belt of Beijing. It is near to DengSiKou Subway Station with only a short walk of around 10 minutes. The nearby vicinity has many eateries and it is also a short walk to Airport Shuttle Bus Stop. The staff are helpful and although the hotel is small and no facility besides rooms, the rooms are comfortable with TV, water pressure is great and also slippers and toiletries are provided. This is a good hotel for budget conscious travelers and I would like to recommend this hotel to all,

the hotel is located between wangfujing and tianan men east mrt station, about 10-15 mins leisurely stroll to both. there are a lot of buses along the main street out front so getting to places is easy. there is a shortcut to wangfujing eating street from the hotel, about 5 mins from the back of the hotel. lots of fantastic local snacks there so good for dinner/supper and safe to walk back to hotel at night. the single room i stayed in was bigger than expected. room is clean although oldish but is made up properly every day. bathroom is adequate and shower is great with hot strong water. only negative about this hotel are the thin walls. you can easily hear people's voices from the corridor, door bells ringing, doors opening and closing etc. bring some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. otherwise great value for money!

EChoose this hotel cause it is new and in the best location in Beijing. Staff are nice and helpful. Facilities are all in top grade. There is room to improve. Like better communication on check in, reception should tell us the room to room line is disable between 22:00 - 08:00. Adding a small rubbish bin in toilet room. One more tissue box in living room. A small table next to sofa for placing tea and food...etc. Anyway, the overall experience in this hotel is great and comfortable. Would like to visit again

Took a bit of a tussle even with the baidu map to reach this place, but once you find it, you'll figure directions easily - great location close by Jingshan Park (literally 200m away), the forbidden palace and other closeby attractions. Location is not short of eateries and supermarkets, and is accessible with buses and a 15 minute walk to 2 different subway stations. Although customer service wasn't eloquent in English, they tried their best and was very helpful at check-in and when we had questions about directions and getting to the railway station. Room was pleasant and wifi works well too - nice place for a quick rest for a day of exploring. I'd definitely recommend staying here and would book another stay if I visit beijing again.

The hotel is in the city center and conveniently located near the Dengshikou subway station. It's within walking distance of Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing shopping district. The breakfast buffet has many choices and my family loved it. The staff was courteous and helped us purchase train tickets. The hotel is clean. However, the AC in our room wasn't cold enough in the hot summer in Beijing.

On websites, the hotel lists itself near Gugong (Imperial Palace) and Wangfujing, but it is 2-3 subway stops away. Nevertheless, it is conveniently located: walking distance to the Domestic Airlines Building (where you get on the airport bus for a one-hour ride), Tian'anmen Square, and Xuenwuming subway station (Lines 2 and 4). North of Tian'anmen is the Imperial Palace. The staff's service is excellent. I needed to repack a cardboard box, and the hotel provided me packing tapes. The wi-fi is complimentary, as are two bottles of water each day. There are a swimming pool and fitness center in the basement, but there is no wi-fi there. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are restaurants in small alleys (hutongs) across the street.

highly recommended! a wonderful experience! the jade garden hotel was a fantastic, reasonably priced choice for our week-long stay in beijing! it is about a 10 minute walk from the tiananmen dong (east) subway entrance on line 1, and 15 minutes from the station on line 5. tiananmen square and the forbidden city are also a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. upon arrival, the staff happily accepted our agoda booking voucher, took photocopies of our passports, and gave us 1 room key. they did require a rmb800 deposit in case we used the minibar or the laundry services, but this was refunded immediately when we checked out. the room was a good size, as was the bed (we reserved and got a standard king-size bed). the sheets were clean, and the room was made up daily upon our request - there was a "do not disturb" and a "please make up the room" button on the wall. the bathroom had a western toilet, toilet paper and tissues, small but soft towels that you could have replaced as often as you like, and complimentary bottled water by the sink for brushing your teeth (i don't think the tap water is safe to drink). there was also a good shower and bathtub. there was a television with many channels in chinese, but channels 9 and 66 were in english. 9 is news, 66 is movies. there was also a mini fridge with more complimentary water, as well as a small mini bar with clearly marked prices. the evian water bottles are not free, but this is clearly marked too. the staff were very helpful. they all spoke english to a good degree, and were eager to make us comfortable on our trip. one concierge man gave us perfect directions to the dumpling restaurant nearby, and even called the restaurant before we left to make sure it was open. there are several restaurants nearby with menus in english, and even a subway across the street. the western breakfast was not included in our hotel costs, but we were able to purchase it separately for rmb68pp and it was amazing. loved th
