Find hotels in Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Beijing at this older but very nice hotel. The service was great...the hotel has a large pool, tennis courts, a bowling alley, a DVD store, a Karaoke room, several restaurants, and is in a great location in Wukoudan section of Beijing. Lots of local eateries in the area as well, and close to the Line 13 subway, which hooks up to all the major lines. Will definitely go back when I return to Beijing. Tours also available to the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and a great Peking Duck dinner.

second time staying in this lovely hotel..they provides solid services that the staff are extremely friendly & helpful & there are proficient in english..facilities good & super love the swimming pool; is the best hotel indoor swimming pool in beijing cities but sauna room is not always heated..room comfotable & cleanliness big room with great bathroom & room is well lighted..room equipment made me feel satisfied. bed firm nice to sleep on. location is close to public transportation (subway) & will get you wherever you want to go as beijing cities always traffic jams so take subway more convenient & faster..room priced match the quality but no free wifi...It is a best hotel i have ever stayed..

We were traveling with our 10-month baby for the first time in Beijing and was looking for a hotel nearby Qinghua University. We were impressed with this hotel because of its affordability, luxurious comfort, accomodating and attentive staff and service, and the variety of gourmet food in the restaurant as well as its in-room breakfast for saving time. The only thing to consider is that the location of the hotel is about 10-15 mins taxi ride from the main area so it is not very accessible by walking but its quality and staff's attentive service in providing taxi service outweighs this small hassle. There is actually a hotel shuttle service for entering the central area in early mornings which I believe is for business travelers and it would be great if the hotel could provide more service times for other travelers too.

Rooms are perfect with the quoted price. All the facilities are great. We were living in 22/F which was Executive Club floor. Check-in staff had a good manner. Meals are great but more options should be offered in the breakfast buffet. Not a popular hotel as I asked two taxi drivers driving us to the hotel but they did not know it. They dial to check the phone number of the hotel but no such record. I had to ask my friend in HK to search the hotel phone number for me. Location is pretty good. Near the two big gardens (Summer Palace), you may just walk to the MTR station. It's easy.

It was pretty good. I think that the hotel is above average. Clean and practical. Staff are really great and friendly. its a generally good hotel. the only small problem is, that some of the windows face inwards and therefore if you get one of these rooms you don't get a good view. And also these inward facing rooms have little light. But other than this. Its still a good hotel.

I chose the Liaoning Hotel as I had a meeting in Tsinghua University. The price offered on agoda was excellent for a lesser hotel and when i got there i was amazed at the room size, quality and finish. I ordered room service and got excellent fish and chips after midnight. The hotel is modern, spacious and the room impeccable. The staff are friendly and do their best to assist. I will certainly stay again for meetings in Tsinghua, where i walked to my destination building in 20 minutes from the hotel along a straight line.

The hotel is very nice and clean with a comfortable hot spring. But the check-in staff makes a terrible mistake. I confirmed with him several times that if my reservation is without breakfast. He said, "if you want to have breakfast at the hotel, you need to pay an extra fee." And when I check the reservation on agoda, I found that my reservation included the breakfast.

room is clean and spacious. location is good for business travel (10 minutes by cab to financial street), but might be a bit far to the eastern part of beijing (an hour by taxi). 15 mins by cab to summer palace. only one bad comment, the room temperature is too high, and it did not help by adjusting on the controller. luckily, there was a window which can be opened.

We enjoyed an excellent overnight stay at Lakeview. The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. Particularly the waiter in the grill and greenery room, who couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. The rooms were delightful, plenty of space and a gorgeous, large bathroom. We will definitely stay here again. The location is perfect for the summer palace area.

the location of the hotel is excellent. it is about 10 minutes walking distance from bus. you can get a taxi to the t station in $10. the room is fine but the bathroom is outdated. the tub is small even for 5 feet tall woman. the plug to the bath tub was stuck and i had to call the front desk to have someone to remove it. the electric teapot is outdated and has water stain at the bottom. called the front desk to replace one but they told me that all the teapots are the same.

The location is great. There is a bus stop right outside of the alley where this hotel is located. It would take you to either Yuanmingyuan or Yiheyuan with 1 stop, and 2 stops to Qinghua U. or Beijing U. The subway station is also within one stop by bus. The flowery trees in the traditional Chinese garden, the interior Chinese decor, and the glass bridge over the goldfish pond are all lovely. Best of all, the internet is working properly; very unusual for a Chinese hotel. The breakfast includes many courses with a reasonable price of RMB$30 per person. All in all, this hotel could have deserved a 5-star, if its service didn’t make me miserable. When I was having my breakfast, an attendant claimed that I was not the guest in my room, even though my room key holder has my room number on it. She said the guest was supposed to be a foreign male. I told her the front desk has the copy of my travel document on file, but she wouldn’t give up harassing me. Probably in her eyes, a female native Chinese speaker could not possibly come from overseas alone. Were you kidding me? Unfortunately, I booked with this hotel for 4 non-consecutive stays, so my misery didn’t just end with this one case. Keep reading my other reviews… 这酒店什么都好就是服务太差，我用早餐的时候居然有一个服务生一再来骚扰我，说我不是该店的旅客，说我的房间应该是一个外国男人，我的确是来自海外，但不是洋人，我的手上拿着房门钥匙套上有我房间的号码，酒店前台也有我的旅行证件影印本，凭什么一再来骚扰我？不幸我在这酒店订了4天，后面几天还有更糟的遭遇…..

I stayed in GreenTree Inn Xueyuan Road hotel for about 5 nights. Frankly speaking, I wasn't expecting much considering the price I paid. Yet, as I was a student traveller looking for temporary residence till I found a room in my university dorm, I was willing to accept below average service. But I was pleasantly surprised when I went there. The hotel was nice, my room was big, the location was excellent - very close to the wudaokou area where you will find many restaurants and shopping centers! The hotel doesn't provide any food. However, there is a small shop beside the lobby where you can buy water and some light snacks from (but their prices are unnecessarily high). I felt that the hotel staff were very well behaved. Unfortunately, they speak little or no English, so unless you know some basic words, you might get frustrated trying to communicate with them. However, they do try their best. I would highly recommend this hotel to all budget travelers, especially students.
