Hotels near Gyesan Catholic Church

It is good hotel with good location, clean room and nice view, new building. This is not a motel that names their business "hotel"; so, it might be a little bit more expensive than other hotels around downtown area, Dongsung-ro but it worth. It takes about 10 minutes to get to dongsung-ro or seomun market, most of interesting spots are walkable or taxi is cheap so ask front desk for taxi as well. I would like to book this hotel later again

We are 2 Filipino travelers (one is my friend who works in Calfironia now) and I myself from the Philippines. We booked a one night stay in novotel since we have to meet our Korean friends who are residents in this city. We chose novotel for the ease of the location. It is centrally located in Daegu so it is easy to gather our Korean friends for a mini reunion. Overall I would recommend this hotel because of its access. There are also a lot of shops outside maybe about 5-10 minutes walking distance from this hotel. We had fun shopping for souvenirs since Daegu is reasonably cheap compare with Seoul. The staff were all friendly and approachable plus they can speak good English. Rooms were quite big enough even if we booked the deluxe twin bedroom. But for a short stay I would not recommend their breakfast buffet since you can explore outside and try other local Korean delicacies. I will definitely come back and book again this hotel for my future trips.

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The first night I used the dorm and luckily that only me in the dorm. The second night I used a single room. Both room types are good, clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is very close to the places I want to go such as the herbal market, traditional market, shopping places... From the hotel to the bus and subway station takes 3-4 minutes. I will continue book here if I go back to Daegu.

I stayed here for 2 weeks. Location wise - it is great. Less than 200 meters from the nearest train station; screen golf/baseball right next door; various restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Catholic church 400 meters away. Good neighborhood to jog around. Another plus - visiting baseball teams playing against the Daegu team stayed at the hotel while I was there (mid-late August). Gym is sufficient unless you're trying to get huge while you are staying at the hotel. There is a small indoor golf driving range at the back of the gym. My only complaints are that my room did not have a bidet, the safe was broken for the first couple of days, and that it is relatively overpriced. Daegu isn't known for its luxurious hotels, but for $150 a night over there, I expect more. It could at least include breakfast.

I was travelling with my wife and 3 young children to Daegu to visit our friends. We need a strategically located hotel (City centre & near to public transport) suitable for family, yet within budget. Hotels recommended by our friend was great (location, facilities & services) but quite expensive. Thus we searched and found New Grand Hotel. Though some reviews said it might look like "Love Hotel", we decided to give it a try. Thank God it turned out to be a great place for the value we pay! The Rooms are spacious and well equipped - 50" TV, PC for Internet, aircond, fridge, water dispenser, sofa, clean bed and pillows. Spacious Bathroom with bathtub and showers, and clean towers (changed daily). If you don't like to use the water dispenser in the room, you can collect bottled mineral waters from the Reception area when you need. There were coffee machine (free flow) and simple breakfast (toast and eggs) for free in the morning at the Reception area. We are very touched by the friendly and helpful operator / staff there, especially the middle-aged lady. Though she can't converse on English, we can communicate and understand each other through body language and simple English. She even company us to the station to ensure we get the right train when we were departing. It's located just next to train and subway station. Although there are train passing by, but we hardly noticed the noise unless we pay attention.bwe didn't notice any "love couples" during our 3D2N stay there, but met a few Korean families lodging there. It's very near to the departmental stores (Lotte world is at the train station), 10-15 minutes walk to the shopping streets and various tourist attractions in the cith centre. We'd definitely stay here again if we visit Daegu in future!

Stayed here overnight November 2018, it was a last-minute booking. I was not expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised by the location, decor, room amenities, and free breakfast. My stay was somewhat ironic in that the hotel location is right in the same building and floor of a language school I worked at ten years ago. Buffet breakfast was OK, however I would make one suggestion: the breakfast chef prepares an 'egg toast', which contains ham, fried eggs, toast, and jam. Westerners don't like jam with ham or eggs, and if they are going to offer something like egg toast, they might as well go ahead and offer scrambled eggs as well. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and will certainly stay there again if I am in Daegu.

Our stay at 2x Hotel was what I expected. The hotel is in a nice central location of Daegu city, about a 3 dollar taxi ride to downtown. There were two computers in our room with internet and a large TV. The only negative thing was the Jacuzzi bath tub in the bathroom was broken. We were looking forward to letting our daughter splash around with the jets on, but the whole system didn't work at all.
