I am glad that Agoda offers this (optional) column -- for its survey is more stupid than before. Hotel Dusit is one fine hotel, worthy of 4 stars (though without such frills as a gym or a pool). Let me tell you a few things that you rarely find: for example, glass windows or indoor glass partitions that are spotlessly clean; how about parking spaces that are one and a half car's width? How about gleaming tropical hardwood floors in the corridors? In my room, the oil painting was stunning (misty view of a forest, in real oil). Most hotel restaurants over-charge and under-serve. This one is the opposite; they under-charge and eargerly serve. For example, a tray of beef shank (for Shabu Shabu) is 120 baht while a tray of veggies (two kinds of mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, Japanese soft tufu, bean threads, and noodles) only 69 baht. Just love this place.

lovely hotel. lovely staff. the only problem is that it's hard to find especially when using Google maps in English. the hotel itself has nothing in English not even the room numbers which is difficult when you go back to the hotel late at night and can't remember where your room is. the breakfast is super Thai style - not even a knife to spread butter on your toast. the breakfast is also very spicy. I'd stay there again anytime I'm in Sakon Nakon.

Mj hotel i always back to this hotel any times im back here for holiday. first time open only one building till they got other building be side, this time im back again staffs still same friendly helpfuly and cleanes. new floor but only i need to conplain is Mosquitos! cant beleive how much in hotel in the room we got new bite every day staffs cant do much about them becase they are near market! ait conditioner is old we have to stop useing them because too loud so we end up asking for fan, only recomment how the best staffs on this hotel are i forget my hair dryer and i leave some stuffs in the room (not want them) they ring me tell me about my stuffs. in bkk hotel if you forget stuffs! forget it because they never let you know, that can be the cleaner who seen the stuffs and let front house know.

First impressions are important. Regrettably, the first impression of U-Hotel, Sakon Nakhon is poor. On being presented with an Agoda voucher the hotel’s reception the staff went into a private huddle. One then left reception before returning to inform us that they didn’t have a booking in my name for two nights in a Deluxe Double-bed room. Have never encountered this with any previous Agoda booking of a Thai hotels and bearing in mind the problem Patrick L had with the same hotel in October 2011 plus they were very keen to know what I paid Agoda, I was suspicious and had to forcefully demand to see the “Duty Manager”. The upshot was that after about 40 minutes, the most of which the “Duty Manager” seemed to spend on the phone, a Deluxe Double-bed room for the first night and an “ordinary” room (small and windowless) for the second was found. The failure of the relationship between Agoda and the U-Hotel to function effectively came close to ruining what is and will remain to be one of the proudest and most important days in the life of my wife. Like many thousand others, we were in town for her to receive her degree from the Crown Prince. This booking problem is a big shame. Almost all the points, good and bad, reported by other reviewers where experienced. The bad would seem to be easily remedied. The hotel itself is quite pleasant with the staff friendly and, with the exception of those encountered at reception on check-in and at check-out (another 30 minutes), helpful and pro-active. In the main this is a very interesting, small hotel. It needs just a little more effort by the management for it to improve from a 4 point rating to the 7 point its’ location and style deserves, Add in a little imagination and it could easily fit in to the boutique category thus justifying its’ rather high pricing structure relative to other hotels in Sakon Nakhon.

We have stayed at the GP Hotel three times now since it is very close to the business my wife has as a customer for her products. It is new, mayber less than 18 months old. Some people may not feel the class of the hotel is not to their liking, but it iis considered a 'Thai Business Hotel' in a small city. The hotel is well maintained and there is a very good restaurant in walking distance. It provides a 'thai' style breakfast. Other items to consider, you need your own transportation since it is difficult to find any public or tuk-tuk service there. They have hi-speed internet but when we were there, their wireless system was not working correctly so I could not login. Some suggestions for the hotel - 1.) they need to have some type of low bench to set one's suitcase on, had to put on the floor or in the closet. We were upgraded to a 'suite' type room with a bathtub/shower but no shower curtain so much water went onto the floor. They provide very, very small soaps which are difficult to use. We will continue to use this hotel when we travel to Sakon Nahkon.

I was looking for a cheap place to spend the night, and for the price I paid I wasn't expecting much. What a surprise! The room was bigger than I expected, and had about everything you would expect at a higher-priced hotel, including a TV, AC, and Wifi (I don't remember if there was a fridge). It was also very clean and tidy, and everything worked well. As far as location, it's a bit out of the way if you're on foot, but the city buses do pass close by. It's between the bus station and downtown, and not too far from either, so could be a nice spot if you have your own transportation. The staff was also friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very nice stay for an extremely low price. I would freely recommend this hotel, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if I'm ever back in town.

Discovered this resort when we were visiting the Sakon Nakhon area to check out the Thai French Beef Company. A well hidden Gem with nice bungalows in a family garden setting with a lot of outdoor sitting areas. Near the outskirts of the city, the resort is hidden behind a gas station and restaurants that front the main road, which you quickly forget about once you enter the resort grounds. A little pond/lake separate the resort from the other business, with the bungalows arrange around a nice garden/yard area. We stayed in one of the bungalows which seemed fairly new and very well kept. A nice big bathroom with good water pressure and a hot water heater that worked well, as did the aircon! Staff was very friendly and rushed to see to any requests. (My Thai wife did most of the face to face communication, so I cannot comment on the staff's English language skills, however one of the owners saw me at breakfast and asked if I was the gentlemen that booked on Agoda, which I was. We chatted a little, very nice lady, and very good English.) The adjoining steak house was a great place to enjoy a good Thai-French beef steak, with a Thai style breakfast buffet served at the adjoining Thai restaurant in the morning. If you're looking for comfortable and quite place to relax, and have your own transportation, I highly recommend Bangchak Phuphan Resort! We will be staying there again!!
