No Complaints!”
Have tried a number of hotels in Dalian on business trips there, and found Nikko to be right up there with the others. Less expensive than Furama/Shangri-la (but in a similar location) and easier to book a room (and cheaper) than the Kempinski/Swish, I found everything to be great. Room was substantially larger and better-appointed than at the Swish, while also about 100RMB cheaper. In-room WiFi was a nice bonus, as other places I've been only have free WiFi in common areas. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choices, both Western and Chinese. Though location is SLIGHTLY less well-placed than Kempinski (in CBD) or Furama/Shangri-la (in high-end retail district), not by much, and is within a shorter walking distance of the main bar area (Minzhu Square) than any of the other hotels mentioned. I tend to book based on price, but as long as Nikko remains slightly cheaper than the others mentioned, I'll continue booking there.

Excellent location and service but renovating”
Although one of the many multi-floored hotels in China, The Hotel Nikko Dalian adheres to the high standards set by the Nikko Hotel group which I believe is based on the excellent service and staff standards set in Japan. Despite the Front / direct access to the hotel lacks an entrance facade right now on account of construction, bell desk staff are quick to come running to help you with baggage. Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast offerings are huge to say the least and check-in, cleaning and virtually all the staff meet you with a smile and a "ni-hao"/how are you wherever you meet them. Great shopping areas abound within short walking distance.

Good Location and Big Room”
the location of hotel is in the center of dalian, it take only 30 minute from dalian airport to hotel, the hotel driver can communicate in english well and give very good information about dalian town (like a tour guide), the room is very big, clean, and comfortable. i missed the breakfast due to early morning appointment but surprisingly the hotel provide morning breakfast in breakfast box.

the nikko is a luxury hotel, showing some of its wear as it was previously a hilton hotel, but its still up to its 5 star status. the staff was very helpful and spoke enough english to deal with check-in, special room requests, and a late check-out option. the room, though very spacious even with (2) full beds, had the office/desk area tucked in the corner, which sometime made for awkward use. however, the wired internet is free, as well as a full stock of office supplies, which is not common in many hotels, five star or not. the bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub, was very spacious and luxurious. the nikko does offer non-smoking rooms, but remember to ask for that at check in. the default will be a smoking room. something i'll know for next time. it's great location makes it easy to find for all locals and taxi drivers.

Dalian Late Arrival”
the only flight i could get out of jinan to dalian was a late night flight arriving near 11:00pm. arriving at the hotel from the airport 45 minutes later, i expected to have the same difficulty checking in as i would anywhere else in china at that hour. wow, was i surprised! the late night shift was highly competent and well trained. i went through resitration in a snap and was in my room well before i expected. the room itself was great although admitedly, i was a little too tired to fully appreciate it and the wonderful view of the downtown area.

nice hotel in central location”
We enjoyed our 4 days at Hotel Nikko. The hotel lived up to its 5 star rating, with spacious well appointed rooms at a reasonable price, and friendly staff and good amenities. The breakfast buffet was extensive, although English/American choices were limited. The hotel seems to be aimed at the Chinese and Japanese markets, with the Concierge unable to provide any tourist information in English

Great location - 10mins drive or 20mins walk from Dalian train station. Close to local amenities. Room - stayed in a spacious & well equipped apartment with my family. Everyone was satisfied. Facilities - convenience store inside the hotel. Pool & gym are clean. Attentive staff.

I stayed here a couple of years ago and like the hotel and my stay here very much. I noticed during my recent stay nothing had changed the experience the second time around was just as good, this is a very nice hotel to stay in while visiting Dalian.

For my two-days stay in Hotel Nikko, we found the hotel is in a convenient location with restaurants and shopping areas nearby. The hotel is clean and spacious and the staffs were polite. There is free underground parking. As for the buffet breakfast, it's okay, but not as good as some other five-star hotels.

Excellent Reprieve From The Challenges of China”
a lovely time in the downtown core of dalian. the weight room is fantastic. the christmas music was a great addition. would change the rule on bathing caps, however as this is a major detraction. what international traveler brings bathing caps with them?

I stayed in Nikko for only one night but i liked it very much. Very convenient location close to all the shopping areas. The room was spacious and cosy. Bathroom has been very clean. The staff was friendly and spoke English. I asked for an upgrade of my room which was easily arranged. I will definitly choose this hotel again.

Enjoyable stay”
This was a return visit to the Nikko and it was almost as good as the first time as we had a few difficulties with our room initially, yet they resolved it for us and put us in the business suite. I ordered room service and the serving was generous and the food was still hot when it arrived, my husband had the buffet with friends, yet he thought it was too pricy, 190 rmb, for the quality of meats that were served (a bit fatty and poorer cuts).

We stayed 3 days in Dalian, Nikko Hotel. Overall, our stay was satisfactory. Furnitures in the room were kind of old, missing the modern feel. The hi-tech toilet ++. Convenient location and easy access by walking.

Upgraded for inconvenience”
I had asked for a crib and high chair to be put in our room, yet they were unable (not sure why not) to do so, so they upgraded us to a business floor room. Nice movie channel schedule available and a wonderful pool (albeit too deep to touch bottom (1.7 - 1.9m and no graduated entry). The sauna/hot & cool pool room is great! Also the hotel has a schedule of exercise classes and a great gym too! The food is pretty good too, albeit a bit pricy (120rmb for the breakfast buffet).
