We visited Hotel Haus during winter, and it was such a wonderful experience. Located in beautiful Gapyeong, the hotel offered a cozy and scenic retreat, perfect for families traveling with young children. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home. One of the highlights of our stay was their adorable fat cat! Our kids absolutely loved playing with it, and it was so friendly and calm. It really added a special touch to our trip. The food was amazing, especially their fried chicken, which was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered it again the next day! Another surprise was the free hotpot dinner we received—such a perfect meal for the cold weather. Everything was fresh, and it was a great way to warm up after a long day. The view from the hotel was beautiful, especially with the winter scenery. When it was time to check out, the staff helped us communicate with the taxi driver, making everything smooth and stress-free. We were also impressed by their honesty—my husband accidentally left his rings on the restaurant table, but the staff found it and asked if it was ours. Overall, our stay at Hotel Haus in Gapyeong was filled with warmth and kindness. The friendly service, delicious food, and thoughtful touches made it a truly special experience. I booked a hotel house for a 2-night, 3-day family trip. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor, and the room was spacious and the bathroom was clean. The view from the hotel house is truly amazing. The owner is very kind as well. Dinner at the restaurant on the 1st floor was not only delicious but also offered a breathtaking view. Thanks to this, we had a comfortable family trip. Thank you. Since it is close to Seoul, I definitely intend to visit again in the future, 100%. However, I was a bit disappointed with the management of the hotel pool, possibly due to the low number of users. Wishing you prosperity~
PRO’s: Hotel staff were great. Rooms were spacious and clean. The surf school outside the hotel was amazing. CONs: Its far from Gapyeoung and Nami island, so getting about if you don’t have a car is not easy. Things close after 7pm - we had to get dinner from 7/11! The pool area smelt really bad and the smell wafted into the lobby area. The lake shore area outside the hotel was actually dirty. It would take a few hours to clean this up…disappointing it was left like this.
Advantages - The owner and the lady at the front are very kind. - Convenient access to the cafe and dining room service nearby. - Beautiful view of the beach. - The hotel room is clean. Disadvantages - The bed is too high for sending a baby. - The large windows make it extremely hot during the day, even with the air conditioning (this is noted in the store). - The swimming pool on the first basement floor requires additional payment, and I went down to find it humid and musty without air conditioning and the door not opened. - The cat in the lobby was cute but seems to have a skin disease.

“Summer vacation, one night spent with my own money.”
I went on a one-night trip with my wife this time, instead of going with a friend as we usually do every year to the East Coast for summer vacation, due to my friend’s circumstances. * Satisfaction compared to price The price was reasonable compared to the summer vacation season. There aren’t many hotels in the Gapyeong area, so there weren’t too many options to choose from. * Location You can see the river right in front, and there are restaurants and places to visit nearby, so the location is good. For those who enjoy water activities, it seems convenient as you can access the river directly from the accommodation. * Hygiene condition of the accommodation The interior is generally well-maintained. However, due to the many bushes by the riverside, there were a lot of insects on the glass side of the corridor. Additionally, the front part of the toilet was clean, but the back area, which is not easily visible, was quite dirty and needed attention. * Attitude of the staff The owner and the lady of the house treated us kindly with smiling faces. * Convenience of the accommodation / amenities There is a café and a place to eat on the first floor, so it seems sufficient to have meals without going outside. Using the convenience store requires driving a little bit. The swimming pool is located on the basement level with a view of the river, but there were no users, and the lights were off. It requires an extra fee to use, so I won’t provide an evaluation since I didn’t use it. It would be better if there was a package that included the swimming pool in the accommodation fee. Though there was a notification about it, the entire room being mostly glass meant that even with the air conditioning set to the lowest, it was quite inadequate to cool down before sunset. Though there were shortcomings, overall, I came back after a pleasant day resting while enjoying the outdoor scenery. The accommodation seemed more suited for spring, autumn, or winter than for summer.
