“Disappointed ”
Shuttle bus driver was fantastic. Always friendly and eager to help. It was wonderful to have pick up and drop off from train station and bus station( for tour to Shirakawago). Location was fantastic as it’s so convenient to shops and restaurants. Very disappointed with the property, it needs to be updated. Lobby was extremely warm, it should’ve had AC on. When we asked why our AC doesn’t work when we finished our dinner we were told that the hotel turns on heat to 24degree C in the evening throughout the building. Even though it was 25-26 C outside with humidity. I hate hotels that will not let me turn down the AC in my room even though it was so hot and uncomfortable. Not impressed as the room was quite expensive. We had breakfast and dinner included. Food was good but not great. We felt very rushed as the servers brought courses before we could even finish one course. The restaurant was so noisy when the staff pushed the karts and walked back and forth to bring food to different rooms in the restaurant. I was stressed out from the continuous noise . Suprised that there wasn’t many staff members who were Japanese. First time to experience this in Japan. Most the staff are from countries such as Thailand, India and Indonesia. They were friendly but for such a pricey property not what I expected. I have never had such thin bad quality towels ever at any property in the world. Even Motel 6 had better towels. If it’s thin for onsen only then I can’t complain but both the onsen and rooms had equally the same bad towels. I don’t think staff should be sitting in the small sitting area outside the Onsen on their break. Every seat was taken and they were all socializing. Even in front of the vending machines and ice machine. I felt uncomfortable even going to get ice.
