Less than 5 mins walk to these stations. If you intend to hike at Mudeungsan, there is a direct bus from the bus stop close to the hotel. Bus 02 goes on a long way to the foot of the mountain but you get a city tour too! There are washing machines n dryers on level 10 of the hotel which are free to use. Rooms are clean and spacious.

We visit South Korea once a year for sightseeing and hiking. The Madrid Hotel was one of the best hotels we have stayed at in South Korea since we have been coming to Korea, The place was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and caring about what we needed. If you use KTX, the station is about 5 mins walk away. The subway station is 3 mins walk. Many restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel has a laundrette on the top level and it's free to use complete with laundry detergent. Room is huge!

Great business hotel at the KTX station”
Right across the street from the station, location is great. Very nice rooms at a good price. Right beside the streets for ddeok galbi, a must have meal in Gwangju. Only complaint would be that the curtains are not opaque enough to allow full darkness, but this seems to be a widespread situation with hotels in Korea

We were upgraded to a bigger room with a bath. The place was clean and tidy. They let us store our bags before check in, so we could go exploring. The staff was polite and patience with us, due to we spoke no Korean. The room had two double beds and were very firm. The bathroom was spacious, with a jet bath tub. Breakfast was amazing, the best we have had so far this trip. Would go back again.

Seems the best and hotel in this area. However not near to shopping streets or CBD, every time go for meal or shopping you have to take bus for a 8 to 10 mins ride.

It is a business hotel for local business travellers. As western tourist I am not sure this is what you would be looking for. Location? Perfect for the Gwangju Songjeong KTX station but for the rest of it make sure you know how to use the subway. The staff were super helpful. The breakfast is not bad. Unfortunately there was a bus load of tourists for two of the morning which meant that breakfast was completely overwhelmed. There are many places to eat nearby but I would suggest some form of laundry service to Management.

Easy to acess to the hotel. Just 3 minutes from ktx train station & subway. 30 minute distance from downtown by subway. The room cozy and clean. Staff are quite friendly. Only onething made me not happy was breakfast. It wasquite ugly.

Very convenient in terms of transport as close to both railroad station and metro. Room is very large. Breakfast is reasonably good. However, hotel interior design and setup is old fashioned, making us feel that it is refurbished from a very old hotel. Need to request front desk to open air conditioner every time you leave the room and get back to the room again. We have tried to sleep by opening the window but it was very noisy outside.
