The bathroom has bath tub which is good for relaxing after Seoraksan hike, view from balcony is incredible. Its near to 0 won cheoksan footbath, must try. Its located on idyllic part of the country so you have to walk about 200-300m to find dinner but dont worry, the pedestrian walk is wide its comfortable to walk.

Exceptional Hotel”
Wow! I can't say enough nice things about Hotel Amaranth. I was greeted by very friendly staff. The afternoon receptionist speaks great English, and while the others did not speak much English, we were able to communicate easily using translate apps and simple phrases. I was especially impressed that the hotel provided a printout with their policies in English AND the local bus information (stop times, destinations, important routes). It was very helpful. Second, the room was terrific! The hotel seems to have been recently remodeled, and everything in my room was new and in excellent condition. The lighting was great, and the wifi was free and strong. Also, the room was spacious and SPOTLESS -- so clean! The mattress was soft (not the usual very hard Korean mattress), the pillows fluffy, and the bedding also very fresh. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and very nice, with good amenities (the shower gel smelled really great). There was a small balcony (big enough for one person to stand on), and a wonderful view of Seoraksan and Ulsanbawi Rock. I loved the table and two chairs for sitting. It was very quiet, too. Although the hotel is a bit outside of downtown, that was not a problem. The bus stop into town is literally across the street. Although it does not run frequently (and is usually about 10 minutes late), if you plan accordingly you can get to Seoraksan National Park, the Tourist Fishery Market (just across the water from Abai Village -- a short 500 KRW ferry ride), and Sokcho Beach in short order (less than 30 minutes once you board the bus). Taxis are also readily available and inexpensive (about 6000W -- $6 -- one-way to downtown). There are two well-stocked convenience stores a short walk down the street from the hotel. I liked Hotel Amaranth so much, I extended my stay an extra night (which they were happy to accomodate). I will DEFINITELY stay here again on my next visit to Sockcho!

A pleasant stay”
Room was clean and spacious. Staff were nice and accommodating. My requests of a quiet room on a high floor with no smoke smell, as well as having the air con instead of the heater on were met. There was no smoke smell in my room but the smell came in when someone in the next room smoked in the balcony. I had to keep my balcony door closed. Would be good if there is a designated room for smokers. Otherwise, it would be a perfect stay.

For relax, Just take this hotel”
This hotel is near mountain and spa. Here is more quite than accomodation near Lake and market. You can take a rest here. Especially, we can take a spa in 10 min on foot and also try to use cable car (I could not because it was rainny :( Anyway, I will stay here again if room charge is the same level.

Good beds, clean, spacious. Offered Nice Korean breakfast in lovely breakfast room. Views towards mountains a bonus. Unfortunately the room was very hot and could not be cooled with the aircon. It's a reliable small "grand style" hotel worth staying at.

Great short walk to the hot springs, not an ideal place if you want to take the buses everywhere and spend time dowtown. But great for hot spring access. Good sized rooms with table for computer work.

Lovely hotel clean very comfortable”
Had a surprisingly pleasant and very comfortable stay in ritzcal. Location: hotel is 10-15 min bus ride from sokcho town/intercity bus terminal. Bus 3 and 3-1 takes you to the hotel from the terminal. On arrival from dong Seoul station at sokcho terminal (16,200 won), approach the tourist info counter for directions to the bus stop for bus 3 and 3-1 (1,100 won). Ritzcal hotel is located on the tourist map hence it is very convenient too for taxi drivers to locate the hotel. Just be sure to get a Korean Lang map too. Hotel is slightly away from town but there are no issues as we found that there isn't much to do in town anyway. There are no eateries near hotel. You can grab dinner in town and taxi ride is approx 4,500 won. Alternatively, Bus ride is 1,100 won for all rides in the local bus. To get to seoraksan, you may hop into a cab or take a bus 7 or 7-1 from town. We took the 9.25am bus no 3 to town for quick breakfast and hop on the bus 7 to seoraksan. Very convenient. Tip: be sure to snap a picture of the bus timetable at the hotel bus stop for planning's sake. Hotel is also located just 10 min walk from cheoksan hotspring resort, which is a blessing after a day of hiking. You get 2000 won discount off 7,000 won entrance fee. Be sure to get a discount voucher from ritzcal receptionist. It is an eye opening experience at a Korean spa and we enjoyed it so much, we were there Both nights. Room: amazing comfortable clean room with roomy toilet, bath tub, flat screen tv and very comfy beds. Service: service with a smile from the receptionists. Overall will definitely return to this hotel because of the rooms and location. Will not advise to stay in sokcho town (usually we prefer to do so) as there isn't much to do or shop or see in town. Ritzcal location near the mountains (visible from the hotel) and its quality rooms make our visit to seoraksan a complete experience. .

Excellent Hotel!”
Great hotel and great prices. Just on the outskirts of Sokcho-si, about 6,000 KRW taxi ride to either the Bus Terminals or Seoraksan Park - kind of in the middle of both. Rooms are really nice, especially for the price. Very clean hotel, and the amenities in the rooms are very nice: big flatscreen, nice beds (mattresses are a little hard, but that's every where in Asia), all the toiletries you need, bottled water, etc. Staff was great and accommodating, and generally spoke pretty good English. There is a restaurant downstairs with pretty decent food and the prices aren't too bad, if you're in a pinch. Would definitely stay here again if going to Seoraksan.

Great service and strategic location!!”
We visited Seoul in Nov and came to know Mount Seorak is the most recommended place to pay a visit during autumn season for its best scenery & sightseeing experience. Since it only took less than 3 hours to reach Sokcho (city where Mount Seorak is located), we decided to make a detour. Reason why we pick Goodstay Ritzcal Hotel: 1. the award of "Goodstay" by the relevant authority assure us we will get a quality stay 2. the price is reasonable and we even get some great discount via agoda booking 3. the location is very strategic. The hotel is located in between of the mountain and city and only took us less than 15 min to reach the entrance. The hotel staffs are very helpful and friendly. Although they not really speak good english but try to provide us as much of assistance.

Recommended hotel for Sokcho visit”
We really enjoyed our stay at Goodstay Ritzcal Hotel, Sokcho. Easy to communicate with staff in English. Less than 10 min to the hotel from down-town (Sokcho beach - really a nice place to enjoy) by public transport or taxi. It will take less than 7000 KRW from down-town to hotel by taxi. Better value for money...Highly recommended..

Average location, superb service, Seoraksan”
Good hotel located in Sokcho, accessible by bus (1100 won) from intercity bus station. To go to Seoraksan, taxi is advisable because there are no direct buses to the mountain. Large clean room, reception staff is quick to book taxi (within 5 minutes taxi arrived at hotel). Fast WiFi, comfortable bed, large bathroom. If you can afford taxi from the hotel (to Seoraksan about 7000 Won, to Sokcho city about 5000 Won), it is a good hotel. Only downside is the bath towels are rather small (about the size of a face towel). Overall great stay for 2D1N to visit the magnificent Seoraksan National Park.

Great hotel for price point”
staff were always friendly and willing to answer questions. room was clean and well maintained. location was somewhat inconvenient as it wasn't really close to anything, however we wanted to go to both seoraksan national park and sokcho beach so this worked well as something in between. there is a bus stop right outside the hotel, however we opted for taxis as the buses did not come very frequently (every half hour or so). only main complaints would be the hard bed (seems to be common in korea), and thin walls. however, the good far outweighed the bad and i would stay there again.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views of Seoraksan”
This hotel is like a breath of fresh air compared to many of the other budget places we've stayed at in Korea. The value was incredible for the experience we had. This is a beautiful, classy, Western style hotel located a 5 minute taxi ride away from Seoraksan National Park. Right outside the hotel is a lot of lovely countryside and incredibly beautiful views of the Seoraksan mountains. The only downside is that there is nothing around the hotel in the way of places to eat or things to do (though there is an on-site restaurant that we did not try). It is perfect if what you are looking for is a comfortable night's accommodation near Seoraksan, in very pleasant natural surroundings.

stayed 6 nights. perfect base for hiking in Seoraksan. Easily available taxi to entrance of outer Seoraksan. take express bus to inner Seoraksan and south Seoraksan from intercity bus terminal in Sokcho. Free Wifi. Better if there is shower curtain.
