Perfect for High1”
5 min walk to High1 (if you turn left out the door and follow the road under an underpass, immediately to your left there is a staircase that takes you straight to the entrance of High1 resort). Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room was basic and a little worn down (stains on the bed sheets etc) but acceptable.

Good location and near to Korean and Western food eateries”
Goodstay HighValley Hotel was within walking distance to High 1 Ski Resort. The staff members were very helpful, despite my limited Korean words. They showed me the places to eat (like BBQ, Korean and Western food), and even arranged for me to have free transportation with my luggage to the ski resort on the last day, so I can take the gondola and then bus to Seoul. Room was clean and comfortable. Very pleasant stay!

Cheap clean room,nice people but no room service”
1.traffic is convinent, around 2,200~4000 won taxi from 2 gohan bus stops. (one from the airport buses, one from the downtown buses) 2.location to high 1 skiing resort is very convient. only takes 10 mins walk, if you cut short through the parking lot, it could be 5min, but watch out for the train... 3.cheap rooms, compared to ones inside skiing resort, only 1/3 of the cheapest ones there. if you skiing travel along or have limited budgets, this could be a good choice to save more for skiing experiences 4.cozy nice clean room(at 1st day!) because they have no room service!!! no room cleaning, towel change, or water/coffee refill!! you have to ask the reception desk yourself everyday. well... not too much to ask considering their price i guess... 5. very friendly people there, english is bit hard work for them, but they would get it in the end and always willing to help if they could 6. not too many resturants around, about 4, btw the bbq back of hotel is nice. or you can walk 800m along the street and will reach a very busy area where you will find all kinds of food: korean, chinese, japanese, bbq, bakery, bar and some street food many convinient stores around. 7. people go there mainly for skiing high 1, not too much happening around...if you dont walking around when not skiing, snacking and tv is basiclly all you can do...

High1 Ski Trip”
We stayed here during our time in town for a trip to High1 Ski Resort. The hotel was a lot closer to High1 than initially thought. It’s only a short 10min walk to the gondola and ski ticket office which was exceptional. There are heaps of ski and board rental shops nearby and if you have your own gear those shops will wax your gear for KRE30,000 with only 2 hrs notice. The rooms are not 5 star but very comfortable with heaps of room for your ski and board bags. The staff/owners were extremely friendly and provided lots of great tips for nice restaurants in town. From the main bus stop in Gohan it’s a 25min walk to the hotel or just a short 5 min drive in a taxi for about KRW8,000. Exploring the town was fun. Lots of cool old shops up alleyways and restaurants galore. Would highly recommend this place for a trip to High1 as the resort is a bit boring to stay but this hotel is super close to the resort and right smack bang in the town

Close to High 1 ski resort”
I went to High 1 ski resort in January and stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. This hotel is close to the resort and costs only a fraction of the price for the hotels in the resort. The hotel was 5 minutes walk to the resort and 10 minutes walk to Gohan train station. The inside decoration is old. But the room is clean and the wooden floor is warm. They have cell phone chargers in the room. The double bed is okay. The hotel does have Korean ondol room (which I prefer) but is not available for booking in Agoda. There is a better hotel for the same price which is located opposite to this one. However, you must call to book that hotel.

An excellent way to ski cheap as a family”
For our purposes - cheap skiing for a family, this was excellent. We used the shop right next door (to the left) for hire, they took us up the hill every day (but only 10 mins walk anyway), nice big room, free bedding on the floor for our kids, LOADS of hot water for baths every day, loads of restaurants just outside, a kitchen on floor 2 if we wanted to cook, a fridge in the room and kettle. All for a very cheap price, and friendly. Don't for get to get your 40% foreigner discount at the resort customer service desk for foreigners. Just take a passport and they do the rest. Had a fab week, and really liked Gohan town up the road when we had a day off. Interesting little place.

Well located budget hotel for High 1 ski resort”
My wife, eight year old daughter and I stayed at the hotel for several days over the Lunar New Year public holidays and skied with friends at High 1 ski area. The HighValley Hotel is centrally located in the village below the reosrt and considerably cheaper than staying in the resort. The room had a large double bed and plenty of space for our daughter to sleep on a Korean-style ondol mattress on the floor. There are many ski/snowboard rental shops close to the hotel - we used the one on the left going out of reception. We ate with friends every night so we didn't go to nearby restaurants.

Basic hotel at foot of high 1 ski resort”
Had a pleasant stay at HighValley hotel. Locationwise; It is located at the foot of High 1 Ski resort (15 min by foot to nearest High 1 Ski house). Also, bear in mind that the hotel is located 10 min from Gohan railway station. If you are travelling with a large bag, you'll probably need a taxi, which is not easy to find. Foodwise, there isn't much around near the vacinity of the hotel. There are more options near the train station. The room is basic with attached bathtub. High floors offer a room with a fantastic view of the valley.

Simple room but helpfull staff ”
this hotel is close to casino. hotel provide pick up service from hotel and to the casino. (convenient with free shuttle)the service was nice. great location as very near to gohan train st. speaking of cold weather, this hotel will keep you warm with heated flooring systems. the hotel is basic but good value and i will stay here again

Awesome value”
Hard to beat the value of this hotel compared to the other hotels in High1 Resort. Merely an 8 minutes walk to the slopes and located right next to a convenience store + some really good BBQ restaurants, the location works perfectly. Food nearby is much better and cheaper than what is offered at the High1 Resort. The owners were super nice and helpful when we needed a cellphone charger. The room itself is very spacious, leaving enough room to open both of our snowboard bags and sprawl all the content on the floor. The heated floor makes for a super comfortable stay. The bathroom is a bit cold but hot water comes one really quickly so no major complaints. Overall definitely a good place to stay.

Near High One sky resort”
hotel is 1.5k from the train station (turn left when you exit and follow the main road). taxi costs w2,200. hotel is on the left at the intersection just beyond the road that leads to high 1 resort. very clean, warm, with complimentary toiletries, coffee, tea, frig and in-room computer, which i couldn't get to work. large tv on wall with good selection of all-korean programs. (arirang channel is only english i could find.) although the hotel staff (appeared to be husband/wife) are friendly, their english is minimal, so use smartphone or travel guide to know a few basic words. nice bathtub and plenty of hot water, which is essential when the temperature outside is -20c with wind chill.

perfect choice for ski hotel”
booked there last minute for a ski trip, consider the money you paid everything is right for the money. hotel is certainly dated but everything still runs smooth, feels like you are back to the 80's, but got not issue regarding the cleanliness or service. it's not a 4 or 5 star hotel , people their cannot speak good English, so don't expect. but if you want to go ski, and dare not to waste your money to stay in all those crazily overpriced hotel inside the ski resort, I would say this hotel is your perfect choice all in all, would highly recommend ski-lover to stay here

I hv stayed there for 3 nights, I booked this hotel becoz it's close to the high1 skii resort. The price is really fair n the place is clean with all the necessary daily things. The room is big n hv a great bathroom.

Proximity to the slopes and support from the staff was exceptional. ”
The beds were uncomfortable but that could be par for Korea and could just be a culture difference. Place is dated, but the price made it totally worth it. Must ask for more big towels. The staff was extremely responsive and available always. And there was a shuttle from the hotel to the slopes if needed.

great location near high-1 ski resort”
the hotel location was excellent and they had a parking garage. the hotel is very close to high-1 ski resort just outside the main entrance. the room was clean with a computer and nice tv. the bathroom was a standard korean bathroom without a shower curtain, but clean. our only issue was the hotel room smelled of cigarette smoke and when we asked to change rooms we were told that there were no non-smoking rooms in the hotel. the staff was very friendly and apologetic, so we ended up just opening a window to air out the room which got a little chilly, but we cranked up the floor heat.

Great option to stay when visiting High 1”
The hotel is only about 5 minutes walk from the High 1 ski resort which is really convenient. There's also a convenience store next door which is a plus. If you need rental of equipment or outfit, do check out the ski rental store beside the hotel. They have discount coupons for the ski pass and they even drop us off at the resort, saving us the few minutes of walk! :) As the hotel is in the town, there's more food options. The hotel owner is friendly and recommended a small local shop selling kim chi manduku which is delicious! The room is a good size and overall, we're really glad we stayed here!

Cheap and good”
Hotel was very clean with all amenities provided. Room is good sized and everything you need is provided for including a desktop computer. Location was good with many Ski rental shops near by. Do look for the shop next to the GS 25 across the road (not snowcat) for the one with the lady boss Nicole. She is probably the only one that can speak good english among all the ski rental shops. Service was very very good from them as well including sending you to high1 resort and picking us up from there.

Very close to High one resort, but still reasonably priced. There are many ski shops around the hotel and if you rent from them they will take you to high one and come pick you up again. Nice big, comfy bed. Would definitely stay again!
