First, I received a text message from the accommodation before my trip. It was a contact to confirm the name of the reservation and the check-in time. When I told them that the check-in time was around 6 o'clock, they replied and told me to be careful, which made me feel good. They upgraded my standard twin room to a triple ocean view, which made me very happy. After running for four hours, the feeling of fatigue disappeared. The room condition was good, and the bed was comfortable, so I had a good night's sleep. I plan to visit again and would like to recommend it to others. The Gangneung trip was so great!

I stayed 2 nights at Soo Hotel. The first night I arrived late because of work but there was a staff member at the front desk to help me with check in. He also spoke a little English which was very helpful. When I entered the room I was surprised by how big it was. The interior was quite modern and very clean. Towels, toiletries, a hairdryer, 2 bottles of water, and a kettle were all provided. There was also a TV, mini fridge and air conditioning unit. There was also a microwave and watercooler outside in the corridor. I stayed in an ocean view room so there was a small balcony. The hotel is located directly opposite the beach so you definitely get a great view of the sea. I found that the street was quiet and there was limited noise from people on the beach setting off fireworks. I think that the windows and sliding door do a good job of cancelling out most of the noise. There were also blackout curtains so even though the room was east facing, I wasn't woken up by the sun in the morning. The aircon was also very effective and kept my room cool. I had the best night sleep I've had in a long time at this hotel. I think the location is great if you want to spend time enjoying the beach and visiting Gyeongpo Lake. There are a few bus routes available but getting a taxi is easy from this location too. I didn't use other services at the hotel so I can't really comment on that. I go out often when I'm on holiday so I only use my room for sleeping and using the bathroom. Check out was quick and easy and I was able to store my luggage until I took the train home in the evening. I think the only negative, as mentioned before by other visitors, is that the walls are very thin. You can hear when the toilet is flushed in other rooms and I could hear families in nearby rooms. It didn't affect my stay too much and I still slept well. If there was some soundproofing then I think this hotel would be perfect for me!

Stinginess leaves much to be desired”
wonderful view of the beach, and we liked the soft jazz playing in the hallways, along with the provision of a water purifying machine on our floor. but make no mistake, this is a family run hotel more like a bed and breakfast (BnB) and not the 4 star hotel that the listing describes it to be. they only provided 1 set of toiletries for all 3 of us to use and flatly refused to give us 3 sets when we asked (in korean). the staff’s attitude was extremely dismissive. but because bath materials were an absolute necessity, we requested for it again in english - highlighting that we paid the hotel prices for 3 people. they then reluctantly said they’d see what they could do. after checking, they demanded we come down to the front counter to fetch our items personally though it was very late in the night. pillows were too soft and my family member wasn’t able to sleep because they initially also denied us extra pillows. but they later agreed to give us one more the following night after my mother personally went to ask for it. we enjoyed the view of the beach from our room and would consider staying there again if staff members could improve on their stinginess and lack of service standards.

Great View and Location”
There was 3 of us and the room was spacious with a great view of the beach. We had a balcony which was nice. The towels are small but that’s standard for Koreans. The shower and bathroom is one big area so just know that the floor of the bathroom will be wet after someone takes a shower. Minor inconvenience and they have waterproof slippers in the bathroom to use. Beds were a little hard for me but my travel mates were fine with it. They do not allow late checkouts at all but will store luggage for you. It’s within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and there is a convenience store right Bert’s close to the hotel. People do set off fireworks on the beach - so it can get noisy. We watched from the balcony the first night and joined the fun the second night.
