Great onsen, so so service ”
This ryokan is not located along the main stretch of ginzan onsen, it’s a 5-10mins uphill walk away but they do have a few shuttle bus in the evening to go down and it’s right next to the bus stop, so pros and cons. For the price we paid, the service staff weren’t very friendly, they didn’t give us accurate info on when we can use the onsen, when we already changed and went down, we found out they were cleaning the onsen for the next few hours, so we had to go back and change back and go out again. When we finally came back and I went to the counter to ask if there cleaning was done, the lady at the counter replied in a very rude way that of course the onsen can be used, as if I was asking a stupid question. in general the service staff wasn’t as friendly as the usual ryokan staff, no smiles on their faces and very so so service. The onsen was great though, great view and design, the in room bath even had tv, if only the service was better.

It was a first time for us, so I’m unsure about the value for the price, but the room, food and staff were great. The onsen is very scenic. The only « but » is that the hotel is a big, modern building with less charm than some other city center Ryokans.

unique and authentic experience, friendly and helpful staffs although there were some difficulties in communicating via English, the staffs tried their best in helping us understand what was needed. We got to enjoy our dinner and breakfast in a private room and the meals were superb, and not only was it a feast for our stomach but also our eyes as the meal was presented beautifully and with care. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and fully made use of our in-room bath facilities with the gorgeous view of the snowy mountains and forest that made us feel really relaxed and away from our stress.

The staffs are very friendly, the foods are good, the hot spring are excellent. Please make sure you make reservation for the transportation from Oishida train station to the hotel in advance (have to either call or send email).

Had a really great stay here. Rooms are sold out way in advance, so I was really fortunate to get a room at such short notice during wintertime (prob a last minute cancellation). The dinner was rly exquisite with a wide plethora of ingredients and the highlight of my stay had to be the lovely outdoor onsen. Transport from the Oishida railway station is provided (about 25 min ride) , but you need to inform the ryokan in advance. Super top notch, i will be back!

This is the best Onsen hotel. Dinner is very wonderful, there are many kind of Japanese food it look like the traditional food of Japan called "Kaiseki".

The hotel is next to the bus stop for the bus from Oishida. It is 5 mins walk to Onsen street.. The only thing is the dinner is pretty expensive. Better booked together with the hotel booking to save a bit. No eating place or convenience store near by, this likely dine in hotel.
