Your host, Mr Tree, also runs one of the local elephant sanctuaries and can organise treks with local Bunong tribespeople. He’s great. The place is clean, mattresses comfortable though they are all memory foam which is not to everyone’s taste - mine neither, The restaurant and bar weren’t functioning whilst we there as we were some of the first customers after everywhere shut down during the pandemic. Apparently it all started up again the day after we left. WiFi came the day before we left (we stayed a week). Saen Monourom is an interesting town with vibrant local market. It’s a 20 minute walk from the Gibbon Lodge but we liked being on the outskirts of town, on the edge of the jungle. Good en-suite and the rooms all have their own balcony and seating. Great to have a couple of quiet beers as the sun goes down.

Clean and cozy, great accommodations! Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well kept. It’s a ways from town but great place to unwind for a couple days.

It was a truly nature touch. We love the authenticity that allow us to have a lovely picnic right at the back of our house. The nature creatures may disturb us in away but all is fine.
