Feels like home”
While walking down the main street with our backpacks upon arrival in Koh Tao, the manager of Gecko Jungle Hostel saw the exhaustion in our faces, and with a friendly smile, offered us a seat at the restaurant and free wifi to help figure out our accomodation. While sitting in the very clean, vegan restaurant, we enjoyed the atmosphere and decided to check out the rest of the hostel. The upstairs area has a nice hangout spot with a balcony over the street perfect for chilling in hammocks. The dorm beds are nice with loads of privacy, and large lockers are provided along with A/C. The bathrooms are outstanding with large showers and clean floors. Overall, the entire hostel has a friendly vibe and you feel at home here, not to mention that everything is entirely eco-friendly! Would definitely recommend for anyone that wants a clean/comfortable stay, but also a social atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff.

Was a really pleasure to stay in Gecko Republic, lovely patient staff, super localisation in the center of the island, all the commun area are pretty clean (cleaning every day), chill area is super cool, spend lot of time in the hammock!I sadly realize there’s cheap prize on the booze for resident on my last day! They also propose me to drop me to the pier just at the time to get my ferry! So was perfect! I same extend my trip 2 time! Really recommend! Thanks to the team!

Great little hostel”
Having stayed in 4 hostels in Koh Tao, this is definitely my favourite. It doesn't have any extras like swimming pools (but who needs them on an island anyway?) or a restaurant. But it does the basics of being a hostel very well, including high-tech bracelet keys that give you room and locker access. Everywhere was clean. A lovely touch: they made me breakfast when I checked in around 12pm! Vegans: no vegan breakfast option.

I loved my stay at the gecko! The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower was EVERYTHING!! Seriously, its not just the water pressure, but they have this organic shampoo that smells fantastic. The staff is also very friendly and always willing to help with anything you need, whether its information or a ride somewhere. Breakfast is included which is always something I look for, and it's not the typical hostel breakfast of toast and eggs either. No, the gecko does breakfast right with your choice of either a smoothie bowl or french toast. Actually, they do all of their food right! This is a vegan, eco friendly establishment, and their food is incredible! Even if you don't end up staying here, you have to come for the tapas! ESPECIALLY THE BABAGANOUSH!!

Nice Location with good breakfast”
The Gecko Hostel ist very new with nice and clean facilities. The rooms are little smal, but they have big lockers witch is good and also the beds are not to small. The staff was very friendly and cleaned beds and bathroom twice per day. There 2 meeting areas to chill out. Sometimes ist can be little noisy there AS they outside next to the Streetfood, but it was not to bad. Very good were the chocolate waffles with banana for breakfest. I would definitly recomend the Hostel.

Best hostel in Koh Tao, hands down. My partner and I stayed here six nights and loved it. Very clean, comfortable beds, air conditioning, AMAZING food. Lovely Thai family running it who will do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. Highly recommended.

Excellent value for money ”
+ I loved the beds and the fact that you have your own little room with a lamp and sockets. The dorm rooms has big lockers for your belongings, A/C and okay wifi. Free towels, breakfast and coffee/tea. There is also a kitchen which you can use for free. Friendly and awesome staff. I liked the location too and would recommend this hostel! - No hot water in the shower

Great Hostel in Koh Tao”
I stayed a few nights. John the owner is really helpful for local advice and very friendly. Dorms are very clean and comfy with Capsule design and privacy curtain. Really clean bathrooms. Staff are super nice and place is really nice wIth nice restaurant as well. The Southern bays are a short stroll away and renting a bike is safe and trustworthy. Friendly affordable nice place to stay. 😊

I would recommend this place, cool vibe and awesome staff. They have some good food option as well. Get the mango ginger shake. I ended up extending my stay for four more nights! I had a motorbike, which helped a lot to get to all the places on the island.

Ein Hostel zum wohlfühlen”
Das Hostel hat mich sehr überrascht, durch die Bilder konnte ich schwer einschätzen was mich erwartet. Die Dorms sind super. Die Duschen|WCs ein Traum. Man hat eine nette chill area mit einem super Ausblick. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend. Der Besitzer stellt sich zudem auch vor und ist super nett. Free refill water station! 👍 Große Empfehlung und ich verlängerte meinen Aufenthalt um weitere Tage.

Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt in diesem Hostel. Alles ist neu und sehr sauber und die Inhaber sind einfach mega nett und freundlich. Man kann ausserdem sehr gut im dazugehörigen restaurant essen
